Chapter 19: Imitation Hellhounds and a Hard Pill to Swallow

Alix sat at her piano in the library, playing quietly and listening vaguely as Nathaniel and Marie discussed the finer points of their plan to kill Lucifer. It was almost amusing listening to them talk as if they were strong enough to stand against one of the Princes of Hell he’d no doubt bring.

He hadn’t come alone for Alix since 406 AD when she ended up burning down a large portion of Istanbul in her escape from him.

“What kind of power should we realistically be expecting him to bring?” Marie directed the question Alix’s way and she froze mid-note, fingers poised over the keys. Then she withdrew them and did her best to see things from Lucifer's perspective.
