In the center of the Empire of Mealma, an empire said to be the most prosperous in Ressuim, it was the capital where the Great Emperor resides.
A castle that shines, its towers could reach the skies, and on the very top was the symbol of the Spirit God, Mitteus!
All of the Mealma residents could see the glory Mitteus have brought over to their empire. Furthermore, their emperor was not the only one whom they admire and credited to their success.
It is because of their Golden Princess, now can only be called the Guardian of Spirit!
By taking the role of a Guardian, one does not necessarily sever their mortal connections. However, almost all of the Guardians do this to devote all of their time and being to the job their Gods entrusted them with.
However, as the youngest Guardian and most endowed princess, the Guardian of Spirit just couldn't leave her parents.
Now that her mother, the empress just passed away and her father refused to fill the void by being in the care of his concubines, Spirit chose to visit him once in a while making the bond of father and daughter strong!
Thus, when Spirit contacted the Great Emperor, Hustein Geliard III, the emperor was very pleased.
Right now, even though he was past his prime, he was walking with brilliance.
'My most treasured daughter came to see me even though there are still two weeks left before our next appointed meeting! Maybe she missed her daddy too much, I need to get ready and pamper her!'
Even with a full of white hair and few wrinkles, this old emperor still retained his pristine look.
Hustein has single-handedly brought the Mealma Empire from its rock bottom to its current state in its prime. Before he was known as the Great Emperor, he was called the Omen of Victory.
As a supreme commander, he had brought wars to end in their favor. However, due to being dissatisfied with the previous ruling, Hustein tried to gain the support of the oppressed which was the majority of people, and successfully usurped the previous Imperial Family.
Hustein had a lot of history. However, that was all in the past now. He may not look like it but he was already old. He didn't like the idea of passing the throne through blood, therefore, he was not troubled by successors as he had already found a few potentials.
But that's for the future. He still has a long life ahead of him.
'If only my daughter didn't become a Guardian, I definitely would've made her Empress by now. But that's not a shame though hohoho~'
"Ah, do you know, when she was just eight years old, Spirit once came to our bed one time because she was afraid of an assassin trying to revolt against us! She was very cute when she explained how it could be the Minister of Defense who might be behind it if it ever happens."
While they were on their way in a luxurious hall, Emperor Hustein's personal servants, a eunuch, were attending to his story that he had already told many times before.
"The princess is very smart and very beautiful just like you, Sire." the personal servant bootlicked naturally as he breathed but internally, he commented.
'Even though I heard this countless times already, I still wonder why a girl that age would know that. What's scary is the assassination did happen and it was the Minister of Defense that time was really behind it!'
Meanwhile, in the lobby room where Spirit should be waiting, Ayensi sat on the couch.
In front of him was the Guardian of Spirit and the former Golden Princess of the Mealma's Great Emperor prostrating without any concern about her image.
'Should she really be doing this?' Ayensi thought to himself.
When he firmly decided on what he would do earlier, he chose to think slowly to keep up with the mortal's thought process. That would relax him and give him less headache in the future.
"Spirit?" Ayensi casually called.
"Yes!" Spirit answered with strength.
"Hmm... are you sure you should be doing that? What if others see you?"
Ayensi's face twitched a little.
'Asking a lot of questions instead of just controlling her myself is not what I usually do.'
He had been controlling himself not to do everything himself. Therefore, he asked that question which Spirit answered.
"Master Ayensi, I will not be doing this in front of others. I don't think as unworthy as I am can sit beside you. That is why I asked the servants to wait outside. Also, Master, I know when others will arrive-"
"Spirit," Ayensi suddenly interrupted her as he put his foot on her head without thinking much about it, "Answer my question only. Don't try to sound condescending towards me and explain which I already know."
"Mm~ Yes... I apologize, Master!"
Meanwhile, Shiena who was sitting beside Ayensi with one seat apart looked at Spirit with a mysterious gaze.
'I'm envious...'
This Celestial of Highest was regretting how she shouldn't have become rationale and joined Spirit which would result in getting stepped on too.
'But it's too late now, I already sense a person coming here...'
Shiena didn't think much of Spirit prostrating as she was very used to this scene. Meanwhile, Ayensi knew that the Emperor had arrived, yet... he just couldn't change his course of action just because of an insignificant person.
That is why even though the emperor was already there, with a gawking expression, Ayensi still twisted his foot on Spirit's head.
"What a revolting scene is this!? How dare you do that to my daughter, the Guardian of Spirit!?"
Only when the Great Emperor's raging voice echoed in the room did Spirit snapped out of her pleasure and thought.
'I failed Master!'
"You! Get your foot off her this INSTANT!" Emperor Hustein raggedly breathed as he never expected this scene in his entire life.
To this, Ayensi could only role his eyes.
'He think he can tell me what to do. I am clearly aware that he doesn't know whose he's talking to but... can't I just chop off his legs? Make a sinkhole that eats all of what he earned his whole life? Or just destroy the country in front of him?'
Ayensi shook his head.
'No, no, restrain yourself. This is the challenge. Although it is harder than I thought, I shall overcome this like any other!' he thought as he pushed his foot further down, making Spirit squirm in joy.
