't belong here, Gid'on. So what do you say, you come work for me, and I promise you that this city won't be your next stop when I'm done with you." He smirked confidently as he leaned forward, giving Gid'on an idea.
Chapter 2
The sun was setting, bathing everything it touched in a red glow. It seemed to reflect in the water, making it look like blood. People were running towards the buildings, screaming as they fled through the city streets. A loud crash brought Gid'on out of his daydreams. His head whipped toward the noise as he quickly stood up, grabbing his sword, which was leaning against the wall by the door.
Without hesitation Gid'on ran out of the door, looking for the source of the noise. He stopped suddenly when he saw a giant wolf standing over the body of a woman that lay on the ground. She didn't seem injured, but the look on her face was enough to confirm Gid'on's thoughts.
Before she could turn around, Gid'on lunged at her, bringing his blade up to strike her. The wolf turned around just as Gid'on's sword was inches away from hitting its heart. Its blue eyes met Gid'on's green ones and growled at him, causing Gid'
Gid'on to freeze in fear. The wolf moved closer to the boy and slowly lowered its jaws, revealing it's pointy teeth, it was showing its fangs at the scared child. Gid'on gulped and backed away, still holding his weapon up. The wolf growled again and continued to approach Gid'on.
Just when the boy was about to run away, he felt a hand pull him behind a small group of trees where he could be hidden, but he could still hear the sounds of people coming towards them.
"You're not getting away, Gid'." Said the wolf. Gid'on froze and waited for whatever was going to happen.
Then suddenly Gid'on heard a cry, "Argo!" and a man's voice saying "Stop!" Then another voice cried "Get away from her!" and a scream.
Suddenly, two men appeared, both dressed in black suits, each carrying a gun. One had a long black cape that covered nearly half of his body and the other wore a hooded top, making it impossible for Gid'on to see his face. Gid'on knew that neither man carried any visible weapons, so he relaxed a little bit.
"I think you should go home." Said the man in a deep voice. "This is nothing to worry about."
Leave him alone! What kind of monsters do you even take me for?!" She demanded.
"Are you sure we shouldn't put this lady under arrest too?" Asked one of the thugs, as he glanced at the girl.
"Yes, I think the three of us should keep her safe." Said the man in the cape as he glared at the two men holding Gid'on.
"Don't hurt him, or else my brother will kill you." Shouted the female guard.
One of the thugs looked back at the young girl, who looked ready to charge at him, while the other thug laughed and stepped aside, allowing Gid'on's legs to be released from the man's hold. The girl pulled the two men into a tight hug and glared at the man holding the pistol against Gid'on's head, who was now staring at the trio in shock.
"Let us go." Told Gid'on, after a moment of silence passed between the three people.
He knew he couldn't stand a chance in a fight with the three strong armed men and his younger brother would only end up fighting four men. He was also very aware that these people would definitely leave his brother unharmed and probably take both Gid'on and the young guard hostage too. This was his last chance to escape from their clutches.
As the man who held the pistol to Gid'on'
