Perished in the Fire

The three bird demons were just low-level wild demons. Their powers were weak like insects compared to Arias, who was a master mage. But the reason why they weren’t afraid to threaten him was because they couldn't sense any power from him. That was why they weren’t scared of him. One of the bird demons screeched threateningly and, with its talons outstretched, charged at Arias with the intent to kill. But with just a single stroke of his sword, Arias was able to sever its head from its body.

The other demon that was about to attack Arias was quite shocked by this split-second kill. It quickly backed away and spread its wings to protect the fledgling behind it instead. At the same time, the two of them also stopped screaming.

“Heh. Not so loud anymore?”

Arias only let out a short curse before leaving without killing the two remaining demons. He darted past them without paying any more attention to them.
