Chapter Forty

“Helena what’s wrong, Honey?”

“I know the situation we’re in. I know we have a war fleet chasing us, but this right here?” Her eyes dipped to the glowing lake in deep thought.

“I don’t know what will happen tomorrow when we bring the part back. I don’t know if we’ll survive, I don’t know the future, yet I want to promise you everything.” You can hear her heart break into pieces, as a few tears streamed down her cheek. You’ve never experienced such defeat in Helena before. She’s always been the strong one, always being the wall that guarded you and everyone. She was the immovable warrior who fought with every fiber of her being, yet, here she is broken like a warrior with no resolution in sight.
