The Sage of Fire

Aaron stood in the training fields located on the islands of four sages. This Island is called so because of its uniqueness. The Island was a group of four small pieces of land which consisted of, The Earth Island named Island Kyoshi, The Fire Island named Island Roku, The Air Island named Island Aang and Water Island named Island Korra.

These groups of Islands do not contain any of the life forms in them and had different terrain which was suitable for training of the next Avatar. The Fire Island consisted of active volcanos that erupted at specific times in a month.

"Avatar Aaron, You must focus on unlocking the fire element and that's the reason why we are on the Fire Island." guided Henlo.

"This should be easy for the Avatar to master the element but, I am not able to do it," complained Aaron.

"Fire is alive. Unlike the other three elements, Fire has the power to consume its prey without discriminating among the life forms. Avatar Aaron, You must feel the fire in you. Let it burn and try to focus and take this." explained Henlo as he gave a small green leaf to Aaron.

"What do I do with this leaf, Sage Henlo?" questioned Aaron while carefully observing the leaf.

"Stretch your palm forward and Place the leaf on it. Then, try to focus on it and while doing it feel the fire burning inside you. After this try to burn the leaf with that fire." explained Henlo.

Aaron stretched his right palm and placed the leaf on it. He closed his eyes and tried to focus on the fire element inside his soul. In his mind, the element that Aaron saw was only Earth, his bonding with the Earth was unbreakable which became the obstacle in awakening the fire in his soul.

"I cannot do it, Sage Henlo. Whenever I try to feel the fire in me, the Earth element stops me from doing it," said Aaron.

"Wait! I didn't tell you something before but, try to imagine that the two elements, Fire and Earth are not two but, one. See this land, it is made up of Earth but, what surrounds the Earth is Fire."

"Aaron, I remembered that you did Lava bend earlier at the time of our duel. Come to think of it, When we combine Earth and Fire, the compound we get is Lava. I think you should try to separate the two elements and prioritize your Fire side more than your Earth side." suggested Lunatok who was silently watching the training.

"I think your friend is correct. You should try it first and if it works then we are good to go to the next level of Fire Bending." agreed Henlo.

"Okay, if you both are insisting I will give it a shot."

Aaron again closed his eyes and tried to feel the Lava inside him and this time he felt the element of lava within him. He tried to focus more and imagined Lava as the mixture of two elements, Fire and Earth. As Henlo and Lunatok said,  he tried to awaken the fire element within him with the help of lava.

Suddenly, Aaron felt a gush of energy within his body. He felt like his soul was burning inside the flames of his thoughts, his desires and his anger. Soon, the leaf on his palm got caught in flames which danced across the palm of Aaron.

As Aaron and Lunatok saw the flame slowly consuming the leaf in it,  They felt a surge of happiness within them. But, when both of their gazes shifted towards Sage Henlo, They saw the grim face of Henlo which made their happy faces serious.

"Avatar Aaron, You have disrespected the fire!" exploded Henlo.

"What did I do wrong, Sage Henlo," questioned Aaron.

"Fire element is pure and you polluted it. The reason is the source you drew your fire from,  Avatar. Your flames were powered by anger and desire which is wrong. The Avatar must remain impassive, calm and observant. You are observant that I know but, You have desires and anger dwelling within you which is not right." explained Henlo.

"What should I do to develop those emotions as well as take out my anger and desire?" Aaron asked humbly.

"You must connect with your spiritual side,  Young Avatar. You must learn the way of Fire. Obviously, you learned to summon fire but, you must excel at it. Keep this in mind that Fire must be powered by your passion, your heart and your nature." replied Henlo.

"How would I do that, please teach me Sage Henlo." requested Aaron.

"You are the Avatar and you must find out by yourself, how to master the fire while controlling your emotions," said Henlo as he turned back to leave.

"It's just been a few days since I was known of my true identity and yet I have to figure out everything on my own?" questioned Aaron.

"Your Identity is always known by you but, You just accepted your identity a few days ago. Avatar is not a title given to a body but,  the title is given to the soul. You have the soul of Avatar. Remember one thing Avatar Aaron, Body can die but, the soul never dies." answered Henlo as he started walking away.

The sun was drowning on the horizon and its orange rays covered the whole land with its dim light. Aaron and Lunatok stood there gazing at the already disappearing body of the Sage of Fire: Henlo.
