"We have no choice but to cross," Wei Lin said, determination steeling her voice. "But be on guard. If this seal has been tainted, it means the darkness has already begun to spread."
The group moved cautiously onto the bridge, their steps careful as they made their way across the ancient stone. The air around them grew thicker, the darkness pressing in as the light from their torches flickered and waned. The unnatural glow from the chasm below seemed to pulse in time with their footsteps, as if it were aware of their presence.
