Girl problems (II)

"So what was your answer to the question? ", John asked in curiosity.

" Umm, I was quite lost at the thought of it. So I just looked at the sky and said, at least not yet", Daniel responded with gleaming eyes.

The two kids strolled effortlessly through the quiet streets of Hishorama to their separate schools.

Daniel headed straight for his school with cheerful eyes and proceeded to his class. John had done the same, meeting a group of delinquents along the way.

" We greet the leader.", the group of delinquents relayed their respects.

John handed his bag over to a delinquent beside him and nodded in response. The delinquents of Hishorama Jogakuin followed his stead, with a firm pride of protection.

The class seemed buzzy on that day, as the results of the previous week's test had been plastered on the notice board.

Everyone who had reported to school checked their results with trembling hearts and walked out either sad or happy.

Daniel made his way to the notice board and looked downwards without lifting his head. A girl in his age group stood beside him in search of hers.

" I can't find my name. Is there a separate sheet apart from these?"

" You are looking at the wrong side, dummy. Your name is at the top, third in place, I suppose. ", a cute voice responded.

Daniel turned to his left and saw the girl beside him. He hadn't paid attention to the girls at school, because his sights were always on older girls.

" Oh thanks.", Daniel replied with a sarcastic voice.

He coursed through the list and found his name in the section of the class elites. Daniel's eyes shot up in amusement, his demeanor changed into an ecstatic one.

"Wait till I brush this on your face John!", Daniel smirked as he turned towards the class.

The girl held his arm with a firm grip, as she bent her head in dissatisfaction. Her dark hair had grasped the sight of Daniel, capturing his attention.

"Don't think you can ever surpass me! ", She blurted out and turned away.

Daniel stood confused. He looked above and saw the name at the top of the table, with his thoughts ravaging about his time with Akira.

" First place is Lina? She might be an international student then. I guess I should have talked a bit with her before she stormed off.", Daniel brushed his hair in worry.

The initial teaching period had come to an end, leaving the students to their hungry stomachs. It was finally lunch, and Daniel drew out his lunch box to eat the meal Julia had dropped in his bag.

Tadashi joked with Daniel a bit about the recent school activities and hinted at how the seniors had been glaring at Daniel.

Daniel shrugged off the thoughts of it and brought out another interesting topic. They spoke about anime and manga, focusing on the new releases made by the animation companies.

After a continuous war of thought and debate on who was the strongest, the duo finally settled on the concept of relationships.

" Ughhh, I don't know why I can't have a girl yet.", Tadashi splurted out in worry.

" I can't say I'm any different. The girls I want are leagues above me"

" It's because you have peas for the brain. Why would anyone try to go for older girls? It just doesn't make sense ", Tadashi responded.

" It's tiring to explain the beauty of creation to an idiot, Tadashi. It's very tedious"

Tadashi sneered at Daniel after hearing those words. He buried his face into his arms and continued yapping about how lonely his life was.

" Ermm, why don't you try talking to Riko? She seems like the type you'd dream of every time. ", Daniel suggested.

" Sometimes even my brain wonders how dumb you can be. She's also leagues above me, striking a solid 5th in place isn't an easy task.", Tadashi replied in a sad mood.

"Oh look at the rich man saying 100 yen is a lot of money. "

"Wait did you try making a proverb? Which wise teacher put your name below mine on the table ugh", Tadashi responded sarcastically.

" Should have left you to your death when the delinquents rushed on you. You ungrateful twig", Daniel insulted.

The duo glared at each other for a while and returned to their dampened moods. They turned and glanced at the room, focusing on the couples within the class.

" Must be nice", the two boys sighed.

Daniel's memory clicked upon seeing Lina and asserted Tadashi about it. He pulled the sleeves of Tadashi's uniform to grab his attention.

" Hey, what about her?", Daniel asked with a curious face.

" You mean the queen of words, the undeniable pinnacle of academic performance, and the most beautiful international student in both JHS and SHS?", Tadashi shuddered.

"Uhh if it's Lina we are talking about, then it's her."

" Don't tell me you have a crush on her. She's so wealthy and smart, that even the teachers suggest she should be a mentor. No one ever dares to get on her wrong side.", Tadashi replied.

"Seriously?? She seemed so calm when I talked to her"

" Wait what? You talked to her?? You didn't just do it on your own did you?", a tense chill filled Tadashi's nerves.

" Um, actually she touched me and helped me see my position so it's not that bad of an idea to befriend her. Also, I'm an international student so..."

Tadashi's mood heightened in happiness as he grabbed Daniel's shoulder with a grin. His facial jokes were actually on par with a professional, and Daniel hated every bit of that.

" I'm so proud of you, but you are doomed. The second richest lad in the school has his sights on her. Rumour has it that anyone who confronted her either got beaten into a pulp later, or their family businesses had a sharp decline."

" In conclusion, we mere peasants are no more than pebbles in the world of the rich. You wouldn't even be able to afford treats for her dog, Daniel."

Daniel sat in thought and picked up a book to read. His mind caressed carelessly through the dense book, and a chill of uneasiness ran down his spine.

A 15-year-old boy had approached the two in a high-quality uniform with gold laces. He tapped the table and smirked at the two, capturing the attention of Tadashi who strutted back in dismay.

*Why does this boy always drag problems with him? Is he a magnet of fights or what?*, Tadashi shook his head in thought.

Daniel lifted his head given the stranger before him, with a confused expression on his face. Tadashi turned towards Daniel with a sigh of annoyance.

" So you are the oblivious lad who talked to my woman."

" Well, is she?", Daniel replied with a stern look.
