3.LOKI FAMILY

30 minutes before

While Akira had just started the fight. On the 8th floor, another family was struggling against the monsters.

"Vanguard don't let formation collapse. Rear Guard keep on firing. Tiona Tione help the left side vanguard" a yellow-haired kid holding a spear with a flag containing Loki insignia commanded. He was Finn Deimne captain of the Loki Familia.

" My hand are tired due to all the swinging" Tiona complained.

"Shut up! And move quickly" Tione ordered her sister.

"Stop playing around idiot sisters. Monsters are overflowing here" Bete complained to the amazon sisters while killing the incoming minotaur in one hit.

"I know. I know"X2

Both of them joined the vanguard causing devastating blows to monsters and easing the vanguard job.

"Captain!!! Isn't the situation bad?" Raul asked while stuttering in fear

Finn smiled" It's only the upper floors the monsters are weak here the number doesn't matter. We are the Loki family we can easily clear it"

Although he showed confidence. He was still confused, looking around he could see the monsters only coming from the direction of stairs going to the lower floor. Meaning all the monsters were trying to get out of the dungeon.

'Although saying this the number of monsters is too much. They have been fighting for a few minutes. The vanguard is starting to get tired. The monsters are giving their all. But why is it that I am not feeling any danger? What's missing here?' he thought.

At the front right vanguard, a few horned rabbits jumped above the blockade. Going straight toward the mage group. The closest female elf mage stopped chanting and blocked the rabbit with the magic wand. She was knocked down by the rabbit not as much due to the rabbit but due to the fear of monsters. The rabbits ignored the fallen mage and kept on going forward.

Suddenly a blonde woman carrying a rapier surrounded by what seemed to be wind jumped toward the rabbits and killed them instantly. Looking at the fallen elf she nods and then jumps directly into monsters and starts ripping them apart easily.

"Come back! Ais" Tiona screamed. But Ais was already in the midst of monsters massacring them fast enough that the vanguard behind them did not have anything to do.

Vanguard A: "Amazing… "

Vanguard B: "This is the best first-class adventure sword princess<Ais Wallenstein>"

"Ais Get back!" Hearing Finn's command she came back to the party.In just enough time to dodge the magic thrown by Riveria Ljos Alf.

"...Burn through everything Surtr's sword. My name is Alfar" with the announcement by Riveria. Pillars of flames broke through the ground. And then all of them exploded burning up all the monsters creating a massive explosion. All the Loki Family members braced themselves for the incoming blast of hot air.

After a few seconds, the smoke cleared they could only see the heavily damaged dungeon floor. All the monsters were destroyed even the magic stones were incinerated by the magic blast.

"Good job everyone. Now let's rest for a few minutes we will start travelling to the ground" Finn ordered.

"That for the help before. Thank You. I am sorry for slowing everyone down. I am really sorry!" Lefiya apologised to Ais.

"It's okay. You haven't been injured right?" Ais replies in her flat tone.

"No. I am okay. But that for before…" Lefiya was shyly trying to find the right words.

Ais looked at Lefiya feeling her distress. She patted Lefiya on her head. Causing the elf to run away due to shyness.

Just as they sat to rest. They heard the cracking of walls signifying arrival of monsters. Seeing that the monsters were only few horned rabbit everybody calmed again.

"You all should rest let the newcomers fight" Raul requested everyone. But looking at Bete , Tione and Ais getting ready to fight. He knew it was a futile request.

"You three rest for a while . I will let you fight all you want on the way back" Finn told them making the three of them sit back.

Raul thanked them and went to supervise the newcomers. But just as he reached the newcomers he saw all the rabbits bypassing the newcomers.

'What are you all doing? I will be ashamed to tell the captain about it. Looks like I have to do it myself' Raul readied his sword. Seeing the rabbits he could see they were faster than normal guessing it to be the reason for the mistake. He swing his blade expecting to decapitate the monsters but the rabbits suddenly accelerated dodging his strike and bypassing him.

Turning toward the resting team he warned "Captain those monsters are not normal "

"Tch these weaklings can't even take care of this trash" Bete stood up to fight.

"We are coming too"X2 Tiona and Tione joined too. Of course, Ais joined them. While all the others were resting believing in the four. Their eyes were looking curiously at the rabbits. The four first-class adventurers didn't make the same mistake but they still let two rabbits accidentally pass through.

Seeing the rabbit running toward him with a speed rivalling a level 4 Finn was surprised but he was thinking a more important thing 'Why did the rabbit didn't attack anyone'. He picked up his spear to test his theory. He didn't attack the rabbits. And surprisingly the rabbits passed him as if he was stone in the middle of the road.

Verifying his conjecture he spun his spear to go for the kill. He killed one but the other rabbit just accelerated again reaching a speed beyond a level 7 adventure. Shocked all the Loki family members could see a rabbit bypassing the strongest person in the Loki family.

"Captain look at these stones" Raul handed the orange magic stones to Finn. Looking at the stone Finn assumes that it is a variant. Assessing the threat he decided to eliminate it as soon as possible. Just as he was about to ask Ais to go kill the monster guessing the monster will slow down after using the boost. He heard a large amount of wall-breaking sounds.

"Another Monster party!" Raul said meekly

"Tch" Finn seeing the predicament decided to bet on his conjecture.

"Everyone on me. Vanguard makes only three people width wall with Gareth as the front. Everyone stands behind the vanguard. Ais and Bete stand at the back. Tione to the left, Tiona to the right. Don't stop or attack the monsters. If possible divert them." Finn shouted. All the members were shocked but still followed the orders.

Seeing the monsters coming, all of them were tense. Although they believed in Finn. Their experience in the dungeon told them the dungeon is malicious and they shouldn't let down their guard. Everyone kept looking at Finn hoping he gives the attack order. But looking at his steady expression they were disappointed.

Gareth placed a big shield and stood behind it ready for the impact. Ais kept the sword in the sheath but she kept her hand on the handle ready to fight in an instant. Lefiya seeing the monsters coming so close closed her eyes. But the sound of fighting never came. The monsters treated them as only obstacles and bypassed them.

"Captain you were right.." Raul congratulated but was stunned by the serious expression on Finn's face.

"Everyone we will race to ground maintaining this formation" Finn shouted. Seeing everybody confused state he continues "We only saw monsters coming from one side from lower floors not a single from the other side. Also, all the monsters are trying to go up. We can guess all the monsters from the upper floor are also going up which means monsters might already be on the streets of Orario. We will reach the ground and then set the defence at the dungeon entrance. Bete, Tiona, Tione, Lefiya and Ais you go first. All the others we will go together keep the supporters in the middle"

A few minutes later

At the stairs leading to the 3rd floor. Ais and others reached and saw the stairs filled up with monsters leaving no space for them to go through.

"Tch. Looks like we are late. It is because of this useless elf" Bete expressed his displeasure.

"I am Sorry…" Lefiya apologised she just couldn't get over her fear of monsters.

"Stupid Wolf. Don't blame Lefiya. There were a lot of unusual holes in the way. It's not her fault." Tiona hugged Lefiya as an act of protection.

"You two shut it. Can you hear the sounds" Tione closed her eyes to concentrate on the sounds.

"Female voice, music instruments, there is the sound of fighting" Ais readied her sword."Ariel"

She passed straight through the monsters tearing them apart. All the monsters burst into LCL dropping their magic stones.

"Ais wait for us" Tiona and others followed her.

Ais travels through monsters as she got closer to the voices the density of monsters kept increasing. She stopped cutting them and start jumping above them using their heads as footholds. She was able to see the person fighting. He was a red hair youth wearing what seems to be red armour. His right eye was covered with an eyepatch. He was heavily wounded. Just as she was about to call him. A minotaur swung his axe launching the youth straight into the walls. The youth collided with a pillar breaking through it he hit the wall causing a small dust loud. His life-and-death situation was unknown.
