Makes Sense

In a slow motion a figure walked into the room, it was too late to hide now. Jake turned t stare at the door. They couldn't see the face of the figure that entered the room just now as the light in the corridor reflected off the back of the figure and the interior of the room was slightly dark.

The only thing Jake could see was the look of surprise on the face of whomever it was who had instantly recognized either from their choice of dressing from the fact that they were kids and probably were not meant to be where they were at the moment.

The next action Jake saw was the swift movement of an arm to the waist region; the silhouette in the doorway retrieved a weapon which was quite similar in appearances to a gun.

Before he could point it at them, Jake was already stretching his hand out to form a fireball. But before any of them both could make a move, the figure grunted in pain as an arrow was seen sticking out if his hand.
