CHAPTER 605
"I love him, mum. I love that elf," Astrid boldly told her.
"Not on my watch."
"Mother. You know I loved him even before the war."
"And he betrayed you," she retorted.
"Come on. You know better than this. Blade is different. He is not like the others. He protected me," Astrid tried to make her see reason but Isadora's rage and pain weren't having it.
"I do not trust elves."
"But you are about to sign a peace treaty. What are you not trusting there, mother? Don't you understand that they were hurt just in the same way as you were?" Astrid challenged.
"Do not talk to me about pain, Astrid I have felt it and felt it hard," she spat out bitterly.
She threw her hands in the air. "I know, mother! I know." She was tired of this hate. It got them nowhere.
"You know nothing. You know what was told but you never, ever felt it as I did."
