Subsequent Fall Part 23: Adrift

"You guys have made a massive mess." Lone sat back as the two of them crashed into a table Astral and Jaimie brushed each other off from the variety of foods as they walked over to a console.

"Just make more, you have nothing but time in here, right?" Jaimie waved her hand as Astral gazed at the stars, they shifted from when they came to this galaxy. "As for mentoring Hephaen, thank you." Jaimie nudged Astral with her elbow as Astral looked at her then over to Lone.

"Lone, without you we would never had made it this far, thank you for fulfilling Hephaen's wish of learning about smithing." Lone pointed a finger at Astral as he spoke.

"What you have with those clones is more special than the relation Candyland had to them. They have their own soul." Lone looked at the wide variety of recently made and enchanted weapons, armor, and clothing.

"Given to them by me when I make them. If I need one I create them with a drop from my soul. Otherwise its too much and I feel tethered and locked down." Astral pointed to a new cluster of stars. "This galaxy has a bunch of resources we could use." Jaimie nodded her head no in disapproval.

"Remember, we are saviors and not conquerors. What happened here is an oddball event." Jaimie pointed to a second cluster. "This galaxy has a planet where the top ten percent rule above the other ninety. This one we go and equal it out."

"Before it becomes the same thing again?"

"Fine." Jaimie turned away. "When you find something, show me." her attitude soured as Lone waved her over and showed her around the newest batch of goodies. Astral turned the pocket dimension into the star map as the area became filled with purples, blues and grays with specks of light shining around all of them.

Astral wandered for hours as Jaimie showed Lone the storeroom where Hephaen can show off all his talented works of art. "Question, if we keep fighting faster than bullet people, would it be possible to fashion a faster than light bullet?"

"I am not as much of a gunsmith as he is." Lone looked over and watched as Astral chased stars around trying to feel something that stands out to him. "But that can be broken down in two ways. Either enchant the gun to be faster than light, or make the bullet faster by magical means."

"Are both within your bounds? We need one other bullet type made as well as a couple of weapons meant to block-" Jaimie hopped back as Lone put his hand up and cut her off.

"Hollow bullets, no tip, just light. These not only can solve your issue with Overlord." He paused. "But they move at the speed of light, meaning really only two people will be faster than this." he handed the bullet over as Jaimie admired it.

Astral paused at one cluster of stars and stopped moving. He became entranced by a single planet. Motionless he stopped everything he was doing as Jaimie put the bullet on her side. "Is it mass producible?"

"Should be, Alexa can provide the blueprint when you go back. You also have the resource. Sunlight." Jaimie was caught off guard by Lone's answer as he held up a second smaller cube. "Apply this to the waistband of any user and the void attacks will act as normal to their body and everything connected to it."

"You had this prepared for us?" Jaimie clipped it to her waist.

"Hephaen did. He had his suspicions on what was going to be needed after you two ran from Overlord and God Emperor." Lone started to walk away as the starry sky faded back to the matte white. "I have other things to do, do not mind me."

Jaimie turned back to Astral as he held a solar system in his hands. Jaimie walked slowly over as Astral watched the solar system. "Something about this terrible planet is terribly off, and yet, it's calling my name."

Jaimie rested her hands in his as he knew which planet to go to at this point. "Is there a reason?"

"It feels, out of place." Astral's lack of breathing finally caught up to him. "Like it was shoved here despite it being destroyed."

"Destroyed?"

"It was pulled forward through time. I know this planet because it doesn't exist this universe cycle." Astral looked up as his eyes glimmered. "It's their planet from the first universe cycle."

It clicked for Jaimie, the planet being different made sense. One part didn't. "Who has that much power to move a planet this far in time?" Jaimie paused for a moment. "Wasn't it hard enough to just drag us backwards in time to be there?"

"It was straining my body due to the magic level required to not have us ripped to shreds by time." Astral looked at it once more. "Whoever did it, used a loophole or could bypass time itself." the sudden wave of fear shocked both of them to alertness.

"Wouldn't it be the most obvious trap then?"

"Only to someone who knows what planet this is." Astral tossed it up as it became highlighted in the sky, its globe spinning in the air. "Others would just pass over it due to the fact it's a random planet."

"But not us, because it's meant for you?" Jaimie tilted her head as she understood but he missed the point. "Just us two are going."

"No, the twins are coming with us."

"If this place is a trap why take them?"

"They have the most potential and need to unlock it somehow. As much as we can guide them, they need more practice."

"And you think killing gods is practice?" Jaimie set her hands on her hips as she glared at him.

"Like you said, we will be there to supervise them for that reason."

"Cause that makes it all the better." She sighed with a deep exhale. "Fine, but we need to tell them about their emergency code a little bit better than last time."

Astral bobbed his head up and down. "Deal. In the worst case scenario we put them here for safety if it gets too difficult." Jaimie agreed to these terms as she pulled him in for a hug.

"You will always be my love, no matter what." Jaimie nuzzled her cheeks on his as they both got ready to announce where they were going. Once they came back to the bridge Hephaen was working hard on the shrine with the twins as time resumed for them all.
