CHAPTER ONE: REBIRTH

CHAPTER 1: Rebirth.

A man with torn clothes laid on the ground, unconscious. The man suddenly opened his eyes and he saw a woman staring at him with a weird look on her face as she clutched a strange object.

" I thought you died." The woman said with surprise all over her face.

" Where am I?" The man asked as he stood up slowly, he looked around and he saw trees all around him.

" What?! You dare to ask me that?" The woman said as she fumed.

" Where am I? " The man asked again as he turned around to take his environment into memory, the environment looked weird to him. He saw a solitary building from afar and a narrow road and plants, trees… his movement and his thoughts were stopped as he was sent flying immediately a loud bang sounded. The man groaned in pain as he bled and he glanced at the woman that shot him with the weird object that she held.

" This hurts like hell !" The man shouted as he felt pain. The woman gasped and she dropped the object that shot the man and she rushed towards him.

" I am really sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you… I was angry and I got carried away for a while." The woman rambled as she tried to apply pressure to the wound and tried to reduce the blood loss.

" You didn't mean to hurt me? Are you kidding me? You just shot me with that thing now and now you say that you didn't mean to hurt me?" The man said as he groaned in pain but before she could respond, he passed out.

Hours later, he woke up and he tried to get up but he was stopped by a pair of hands that pushed him back on the bed.

" Easy, easy… " The woman that shot him earlier said as she handed a cup of water to him but he didn't take it.

" Why did you bind me to this bed?" The man said as he noticed that his legs were chained to the bed.

" Too many questions… I am Lauren." Lauren said as she put the cup of water down on a nearby table.

" I don't care about that now." The man said as he tried to get his leg out if it's restraints. Lauren sighed but she broke a wry smile.

" What's that thing you used earlier to injure me?" The man asked as he looked at Lauren with his deep blue eyes, hearing the question, Lauren was bewildered before she chuckled loudly.

" Are you kidding me right now, you don't know what a gun is." Lauren said and she looked at the man with curiosity.

" See Lauren, I don't know what the person that owned this body did to you but I am actually new in this body and I don't know anything about this place… I can't even remember anything." The man said quickly with a exasperated look and Lauren noticed that he didn't look like he was lying.

" What's your name?" Lauren calmly said.

" I don't know, I just said that I don't remember anything."

" Well, your name is Asher." Lauren said calmly before her face suddenly changed into anger and she reached for her gun she had placed in the room.

" Are you joking with me right now?" Lauren asked as he pointed the gun at Asher and Asher gulped as he stared at the gun in Lauren's hand. He wasn't lying, he just remembered that he felt a great pain in his chest before dying and he woke up in a strange environment.

" I am not lying. " Asher shouted, he didn't know what he could do to prove that he wasn't lying.

" You are really crazy, first your wound healed rapidly faster than any human, a shot should have killed you but yet you survived and your wound even healed without leaving a scar… " Lauren was cut short as Asher raised his cloth to check his stomach, where he was shot earlier and he found out that his abdomen didn't have any scar.

" Really?" Asher said as he checked his stomach.

" You are really crazy! I thought maybe you were a special project at first when your wound healed quickly but what you have been saying is really creeping me out right now, the way you are acting seems strange. " Lauren said as he clenched the gun in her hand tightly.

" Are you really Asher?" Lauren added.

" Old girl, I am not Asher, let me go." Asher responded and he tried to escape his restraints but he couldn't.

" You dare to call me that, you this crazy thief."

" You are the crazy one! You didn't even ask me who I was, you didn't tell me anything, you just shot me out of rage." Asher shouted back at Lauren leaving her stupefied. Lauren just smiled wryly and she stormed out of the room as she murmured some indescribable words. Asher couldn't help but sigh, the first person he met in this strange place is a crazy granny that had anger issues. Asher turned to look outside through the opened window, he saw a beautiful tree that some birds perched on and he also saw the sun set outside, 'this place is beautiful' Asher admitted in his mind. Asher laid back on the bed and he looked around the room and he only saw a wooden table with a cup of water on it, he heaved a deep sigh and he closed his eyes. He tried to remember anything, just anything that would provide any inkling of where he was and what he was doing here, he still couldn't remember anything. Asher opened his eyes, he tried again to see if he could get his memories but nothing happened, he found it strange that Lauren told him that his wound healing in minutes is abnormal, isn't that how others healed? He asked himself, he also marvelled at the strange thing that caused him so much pain, the gun. He loved the object but he couldn't get it because he was in captivity.

Asher closed his eyes again, trying to remember anything but this time he felt his vision move from black to white to deep red. Immediately his vision turned to red, Asher felt his chest, where his heart ached him with so much pain and he couldn't help but groan as his vision was filled with blood red. Asher tried to snap out of his reverie but he couldn't and he groaned as his chest continued to hurt him, he shouted before he clutched his chest with both of his hands. His vision that was filled with blood red transcended into a scene, Asher saw himself bound with black chains to two large pillars behind him, he saw that his whole body was covered with blood and his mouth was dripping blood. He also noticed two long fangs and gigantic claws, Asher saw himself scream with pain as another person approached him with elongated claws, the person pierced his chest and he brought out his heart, handing it over to a woman with dark eyes and blue hair. The woman placed his heart in a calabash, turned to face him and she smiled at the man that brought the heart to her, she handed a dagger to him, the dagger had a red hilt that shone. The man walked to the bound Asher and he stabbed his already pierced chest and Asher heard him say, " For the glory of the vampires!" The bound Asher cried out in pain and his eyes turned bright red and the pain sent Asher out of the vision but before he lost sight of the vision, he saw a mountain of corpses surrounding his bound self in the vision.

Asher woke up and he vomited dark red blood as his chest hurt, his nose, eyes and ears also bled and he couldn't help but scream loudly in pain. Lauren rushed Into the room and she saw Asher's eyes, nose and ears bleed profusely as he vomited dark blood and she quickly released his restraints and Asher rolled to the ground as he continued to groan in pain. Lauren saw his chest darken and she tried to touch him there but Asher raised his head to look at her with blood red eyes. Lauren felt fear take over her body as she fell to the ground as Asher stood over her, she noticed Asher's fingers already turned to claws and the aura he released was so deadly that she couldn't breathe.

" What are you?" Lauren managed to ask as her whole body shook with fear. Asher responded with a smirk curling on his lips and Lauren noticed his long fangs that spelled terror. Asher inched closer to Lauren as she moved back slowly but she soon felt her back against the door and Asher swung his claws at her, Lauren closed her eyes, expecting death.
