21. Bonus Chapter: Before he goes.

The next morning:

"*knock,knock,knock*"

banging on the door ,I called out

"is any in there?"

but I got no reply.

I kept at it for a while, until.....

"welp guess that means I can come in then"

quietly opening the door,i tip toed into the room, and what i saw was truly a wonderful sight to behold

"awwwn ,they look so cute when they are asleep"😍

|....too bad ,but I am here to rain on your little parade guys....|

I thought as I prepared myself for what I was about to do next

"*taking a deep breath *"

I shouted with all my might

"Rise and shine sleepy heads!!!!"

I shouted at the top of my lungs to the two or should I say three, three people who laid asleep on the bed, and this three people were none other than Emilia,my sweet little sister, Ascimos,my adorable bundle of a nephew and mits,our cute little mascot, it doesn't really take any much effort to figure out by now,that I am none other than .....Rachel!!!!

Daughter of Sir Zodiac, the former head of this mansion, mother of Subaru and I have taken up the post of the new head of this mansion alongside my lil sister but I do most of the administrative work which essentially means most of the work overall ,which basically makes the overall head, but don't tell her I told you that,

I must say,being the new head of the mansion is a hard job on its own, titled with my daily civil responsibility and also the responsibility of being a mother,which to me comes first,but I still try my best to make sure I don't disregard one responsibility for the other, honestly speaking,it isn't easy but as a daughter of the brave swordman Zodia and wife of the.....

"*tip toe*"

|....huh? it seems someone is coming...|

I looked outside the room but I didn't see anyone,

so where was I?,

ha yes,

as the new head of the mansion, I pledge to carry out my duties diligently, please do make sure to remember

"hehehe 😁"

I began laughing with my inside voice but unfortunately.....

"mom,are you talking with yourself again?"

"😱*shock*"

I knew I sensed someone approaching,

"geez,mom ,how many times do I tell you, that you should put a stop that habit,it doesn't befit someone of your status"

my son ,Subaru was the one talking,and right now ,he was Infront of the door which was unfortunately left opened by me ,he was scratching his left eyes with his left index finger, which doesn't take long to realize that he must have just woken up from sleep

"what befits my status and what doesn't is nothing for you to concern yourself with ,mereum"

I said calling him by his middle name,

I walked up closer to him and then placed my hand on his white hair and ruffled it

"come on mom"

he yelled in embarrassment

"what?, don't you like it?"

I asked teasing him

"well....."

his face became bright red

"well I already know the answer,of course,if you didn't, you would have tried removing my hand by now"

I then removed my hand from his head and said

"so what brought you here, Subaru"

I bent down a bit so that we can be on the same eye level, and after saying that I smiled

"your loud voice, that's what"

he said as he looked a little bit annoyed

"wait ,me?"

I asked pointing at myself to confirm

"yeah,you,and by the way the people you were trying to wake up are still fast asleep just so you know"

Subaru said pointing behind me

"wait, people?"

I got confused for a bit and then I remembered my real reason for coming here

"WHAT!!!!?"

I yelled as I turned back and saw Emi, which is short for Emilia, Ascimos and mits still sound asleep,in fact it seemed that my shout only made them to go deeper into their slumber

|....gush, honestly I expected this from Emi,but Ascimos? well as they say ,like mother like son,mits-san is still as laid back as ever, I see....,she probably heard me when I shouted but still decided to ignore me and shake it off....|

"honestly,you guys"

I was filled with fury as I lifted up my right hand which right about now had formed a fist with veins popping out from it and there was fire which came out from my body due to the rage within me,

"guess this is my queue to leave"

Subaru said as he dashed out of the room

"if yelling won't work,how about punching"

I said as I began punching all three of them one by one , first mits then Ascimos and lastly

"save the best for last"

using my full strength I punched my lil sister, because anything short of that won't be enough

and soon enough

"*yawn😫* morning already?"

my sister asked as she stood up to take her usual morning stretch

but as soon as she saw me her eye beamed up and she immediately attacked me with a bear hug

"big sis"

she said as she laid her clutches on me

"hey, Emi let go,you do know I am angry with you"

I said as I tried to push her back

but she wouldn't let go

"huh? really? okay,not until you say you have forgiven me"

she made her grip tighter and due to that we both fell to floor

,I then looked into her eyes and said

"honestly when you give me that look how can't I"

I then smiled and said

"it's alright,you are forgiven"

"you mean it? thank you big sis"

my sister kept on tightening her grip on me due to how happy she was and in a matter of seconds I was finding it hard to breath

"hey,Emi"

I tapped her repeatedly gasping for air as soon as she saw me she understood what I meant and immediately let go and said

"so sorry"

she bent down her head apologetically

"yeah,yeah,you do this every morning so I kinda have gotten use to this"

|.... Ascimos POV: wait they do this every morning!!!!.....|

"and as for you two"

I then directed my gaze towards Ascimos and mits-san ,I used the honorary,san because she has lived longer than both me and Emilia, probably even longer than father.

They were both taking a kneeling posture on the ground,since mits is a cat it's quite impressive she can do that

"promise me you would wake up immediately when you are called and I will let you go with just a warning

"we promise"

Ascimos yelled out apologetically

"meow"

mits let out a cute meow, which must have probably meant the same thing

Ascimos POV:

|.... Ascimos POV: I am definitely never ever having a sleepover with mom again,

taking a look at Aunt Rachel's eye to see her glare made my determination stronger

|....nope never....|

"meow"

Mits-kun looked at me and meowed 😔 which almost looked as if he read my thoughts and was concurring with it

"okay"

I then nodded my head to mits and he did the same thing and

"meow!!!!"

I guess we are on the same page.

"I see you guys have learnt your lesson,you may take your leave"

Aunt Rachel said as she gave off a glare and soon enough mits and I ki-daddled our way outta there.

"hey Ascimos"

aunt Rachel called out to me

"if you pull this little stunt,off again I promise to give you a much more harder knock than the previous one,you understand"

|.... wow,such a icy stare....|

"yes ma'am!!!"

I said

"you may take your leave"

she said signaling me to go

"thank you a bunch"

I said as i took my exit

Rachel's POV:

"gush ,kids of nowadays"

I said looking at the door

"hey sis "

I turned to lil sister who just called out to me

"hmmm"

I replied

"maybe you shouldn't have been so.... "

she was about to complete her statement when I said

"so what? so harsh, don't think I am done with you missy"

I then dragged her ear and started yelling at her

"how many times do I have to tell you to stop sleeping in late?"

"sis,stop it,I thought you said you have forgiven me?"

she asked in pain

"yeah I have,but that doesn't mean I won't discipline you"

I continued and let go of her ear,

"ouch"

she then dropped to the ground

|.... seriously 😒,but I guess it's okay, since this her laid-back nature is due to the peace we are experiencing now,which I am grateful for....|

"sigh 😔, it's alright"

I said as I sat down on Emi's bed

|.... it's only when I am around her that I too,also get this laid back and sometimes around Subaru too....|

"well, let's leave it be,see I came here to discuss something important with you"

I said putting my hands together and raising them underneath my nose,when my sister saw me in that position she immediately became serious and fully calm inorder to listen to what I had to say

"you see....."

I said

"yes?"

she replied

"we are going to...."

I continued

"yes?"

her face began moving, little by little,closer to my face due to her curiosity

"play a game of base ball"

I finally finished my sentence,and then turned to Emi to see what she thought on the matter ,but when I saw her face I was shocked to see that her expression was not one of being deep in thoughts or one of being sad,rather it was one of confusion

as this two words left her mouth

"base... ball?"

she asked looking at me like as if I had just said something out of character for me

"yeah ,you know,the game , Ascimos had thought us a few months back"

I said resting my back on the bed

with my feet placed on the floor

as I said again

"yeah base ball"

I replied her question, ignoring the new expression on her face

"what?but...why?"

my sister began attacking me with a bunch of questions all at once

"please sis,one at a time"

I began placing my hands Infront of my face to prevent my sister form getting any closer to my face and also to prevents the little water works she's performing with her mouth

"okay,I will start with the most , important which is why,and I am very positive I have answered the what question,and not sure your but was a question just an incomplete statement, so now the reason why 'we' are going to be playing baseball is because..."

I was about to complete my statement when

"wait, 'we' ? "

"yeah we"

I concurred

"no,no,no,no way sis, you know how bad I did last time,I just can't...no way"

she said using her two hands to make an 'x' sign 🙅‍♀️, showing her displeasure on the matter

"what if I said,you and Ascimos will be on the same team"

I revealed part of the line up to my sister which obviously won't affect the gameplay which worked a little too well

"where do I sign up?"

she said with her eyes showing stars 🤩,

"hold your heels,horsy,I still got to tell the others"

I said patting her on the head

"it's amazing how everything about your son hypes you up,I am pretty sure you don't show this side of you to him"

she then removed my hand from her head , pouting her face and said

"the same can also be said about you and Subaru"

"well only when I see it necessary"

I then stood up and walked up to the window, looking outside I saw Withward who was busy with his daily chores , what he was currently doing was watering the plants ,and when he saw me he smiled and nodded which I also did the same to him

"so,when are we going to play the game"

Emi said staring at me

"well,so it would be fair I am giving both the teams about 48hrs of preparation after I have annouced to the other members of the household. The teams haven't been fully decided yet, that's up for the coach,or captains,to scout out their other members"

I said as my eyes scrutinized through Withward

"48hrs which should be about two days,so basically me and Ascimos have to look for 7 other players for our team, that's gonna be quite a hassle though I wonder if Withward would be up to join our team?"

my sister said as she kept on looking at me

but when I didn't give a reply she walked up closer to me and when she saw what I was doing and who I was looking at she immediately understood what was going on

"wait don't tell me? you are planning to scout....but that would mean that"

she said with a look of surprise on her face

"well you have Ascimos who's literally the game's creator"

[Somewhere else:

"Atchoo" 🤧

"hope nothing's wrong Ascimos"

Subaru asked looking worried

Ascimos quickly took out a napkin from his pocket to clean his nose

"wonder if someone's talking about me?"

he said

"as if"

Subaru replied

as they continued their game of tag]

"don't worry , I would be in charge of picking out the umpires for the match,you just focus on scouting your team and maybe making a few announcement in case I have left out a few places "

I ended up smiling and said

"see you on the pitch Sis,or should I say..... Captain Emi, let's have a good game"

I took my sister by the hand and Shook it 🤝 and then walked out of the room to go tell the others of the recent developments

As I left my lil sis alone to her thoughts and closed the door

Emilia's POV:

as soon as Rachel left the room,I immediately fell flat on my butt to the ground

"seriously, she's always been really competitive and now I am going to be facing her as an opponent not to mention her good leadership qualities...sigh 😔"

I then tried my best to think on the next course of action to take, so as not to end up loosing to Rachel

"well I guess she just wants to spend more time with her son.... before he leaves"

I then looked through the window and saw Withward who when he saw me smiled and nodded his head

"well , at least now i know two members of their line up"

|....guess I too should go help out with the announcement, I may also be able to find potential players...|

I then walked into the bathroom to freshen up still deep in thoughts on what is going to transpire in two days time.
