Chapter 46: The Confrontation

Jude's face cycles through every emotion as he sees Grayson bound on the floor, but safe.

"You've got a lot to learn if you think you can sneak up on me, Jude." Arthur smiles, but there's something threatening about the expression.

"Who are you? And what are you doing with Grayson?"

"My name is Arthur. Calm yourself, little brother. I just want to talk.”

Jude's mouth opens and snaps shut but he doesn't tear his eyes away from Grayson. "Let him go, now."

"Of course." Arthur plucks the rope under his nail and it severs instantly, freeing Grayson. "I wasn't going to hurt him, I just wanted to talk somewhere safe."

Grayson stands uncertainly, Jude already reaching out to grab him. Jude pulls him under arm and steps back from Arthur.

"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Jude's hand is caressing the side of Grayson's face, his eyes scan him for any injuries.

"I can't believe you're here," Grayson whispers, eyes closing under Jude's touch.

"I—" Jude starts.
