“hi babe” the voice echoed from the speakers of the phone “Laura, a-are you back are you here I miss you so much.” “I will be back in three days time , why??” “My mom is forcing me to marry someone that is not you it’s you I want no other person” I say down with my phone waiting for her response. “ Just marry her Alex, as long as you don’t love her everything will be fine, okay” . I took a deep sigh “anyways baby guess.........” Laura took my mind of things which gave me a relief

Three days later

“Butler Wang my son is marrying the girl of my dreams and it’s today”. She was touching up her makeup. “ Ma’am can I be honest with you”? “Go ahead” “ I am delighted that master Alex is getting married to the girl of your dreams but lying to him about your cancer isn’t the right way to get things done”. “ I know my son Wang he will not do things I want If I don’t tell him about the disaster that is going to happen to me, we are going to be late now let’s go”. They arranged for the necessary things and left for the marriage registry.

Mom and I got to the hall and I deeply prayed she won’t come but not to my surprise she came. “ Sam so sorry for keeping you waiting here, let’s get this done with” Mom said with a huge smile on her face.

After a while the marriage was done and completed “my son is now married” she hugged me with joy but I just saw Sam or whatever her name is staying on her own with no expressions on her face. “Sam you aren’t smiling, if it’s that issue you are thinking about I will settle it”. What issue is she talking about. “ Mom I have to go am late for a meeting” I left without waiting for her response. “Come Sam let’s go home”.

Sam’s pov

The wedding is completed now but I have to see Jake to tell him about all this. “Ma’am please can you stop me at the junction I need to get a few of my things.” “ I can take you there and don’t call me ma’am, call me mother ”. “Don’t worry mother”. She dropped ma off. At least Jake’s house isn’t far from here. Knock Knock I knocked on his door but there was no response. Maybe he is not around, I could wait for him inside I thought to myself but I saw his shoe and someone else’s shoe . I went in without a second thought. Clothes, shoes were all over the place.

I went to his room to see if he was sleeping but to my surprise...... “ my gosh ...... Babe it’s not what you think”. Tears rolled down my eyes the moment I saw what was before me “ Babe it’s not what you think I swr.. p-“. “ Will you shut the fuck up jake i-i- trusted you and you betray me like this. How long has this been going on”? “ Three months ago” “The fuck you ..... I just wanted to tell you I am married so you don’t need to worry about the debts my father left for me”. I ran with tears dripping from my eyes hoping what I saw was a dream but it wasn’t. I can’t believe i dated that scumbag of a Jake and now what did he do he cheated on me. I took a last look at his house.

2 Hours later

“Sam where have you been you got me worried”. “ Ma’am I just went home to do this”. “ Sam I’m not ma’am , call me mom”. I looked at her straight into her eyes and I didn’t take long before tears rolled down my eyes. “Mom” I cried out I fell to the ground crying as Alex’s mom comforted me . “It’s ok dear I know how much you miss your mom, I miss my mom too. Come on now Go upstairs second door to your right will be your room”. I did as she said and went to the room. It wasn’t a typical room I expected, it was very dark I could barely see myself. I saw a chair nearby and took a seat.

Alex’s pov

“I married that witch,that gold digger”. I said it outloud in my car. Ring ring “ am not in the......” “babe chill it’s me”. “Laura *I checked my phone’s screen* I’m sorry I didn’t know it was you” . “I know you are stressed out because of the wedding but remember you are only doing this because of your mom’s illness”. “ I will be boarding this evening” “ I can’t wait to see you Laura, I love you” “Lobe you too she hang up the phone and I drove straight home.

The gold digger was sitting on the floor next to the chair I sit to do my office work asleep . Seeing her in my room made my blood boil. Smash “Who’s there” she screamed I went straight for her throat and squeezed it. “We might be married but you don’t deserve to be called Mrs Anderson”. “ p-pl-please” she was gasping for air as I squeezed her throat tighter. “Even after I told you not to accept, you accepted “ I released her neck and she gasped loudly for air. “ listen very carefully now you will sleep in the balcony, dress in the balcony do whatever you want to do in the balcony. You must not touch anything in my room. Got it??” she nodded as she was still gasping for air. She crawled down to the balcony and closed the balcony door.

Next morning

“Good Morning sir”. Wang greeted as I came downstairs. “Morning mom” I greeted my mom as she came down. “where is Sam” “ I don’t know”. I replied harshly. “Madam left for work early this morning” “ Without telling anyone Wang”. Ring ring mom’s phone rang “Hello”. ”is this Sam’s mother in law”. “Yes”. “she just got into an accident”
