19. MILITARY CAMP [PT2]

"Finally, what took you guys so long Raphael?" Stacy asked finally relived that her father really sent someone to bring her back home.

"I'm sorry for not coming here early miss Stacy, but we had other pressing matters to attend to." Raphael said with his usual straight face

"Nevermind that, take us out of here."

"I'm sorry miss Stacy, but we can't take everyone in here, there's just too many people, we're just here to take you and possibly miss Mia also."

"What do you mean, you can't leave everyone here to die, you have to take them with you." Stacy said

"Yeah, you have to take us with you, how do you expect us to survive this apocalypse." John said

"I'm deeply sorry and I also wish that we can do that, but our resources can't sustain all of you." Raphael said

"What are we going to do here? you have to take us with you!" Kyle yelled angrily

Suddenly Raphael got angry

"I said we can't take all of you! What part of that don't you understand!"

Stacy then shifted her gaze towards Mark, he looked furious.

"...well then, if you won't take everyone with you, then I'm not going with you." Stacy said

"Miss Stacy, you have to come with us, how can we take everyone, we don't have enough space on our vehicles to take all of you."

"Kate, what about the buses, we can use them." Sophie whispered to me

"That's right." I said shifting my gaze towards Raphael

"We can take the buses from the school."

"Yeah, that way you can take everyone." Mia said

".... alright then, but first we'll head to the military camp to rest before we proceed." Raphael said

"It's settled."

"Sophie, tell everyone to gather anything useful." I said shifting my gaze towards Sophie

"I'm on it."

Guarded by the soldiers, we all ran towards the military camp with the soldiers shooting a few green zombies on the head every once in a while.

After a long run, we finally got to the camp. It was a large piece of land that was fenced all round with large rocks and it had a little passage.

Entering the military camp, I discovered that the soldiers had set up tents everywhere.

"Everyone should pick a tent to rest for the night, we'll head out tomorrow." Raphael said

"But... Aren't they soldiers who sleeps in those tents?" Stacy asked Raphael

"My men are always alert, they don't need sleep." Raphael said before leaving.

Two hours after we had left the gymnasium, in a small tent.

"I can't wait to leave here, I'm feeling homesick, I can't wait to see my parents." Sophie said while staring at the floor

"...."

"....uhm, you can stay with us if you like, I'm sure my parents would be glad to take you in.... if they're still alive." Sophie said shifting her gaze towards me

"Uhm, thanks...."

".... So Kate, do you find John kinda.... Attractive?"

"What do you mean?" I said raising a brown

"I mean you've got to have some kind of crush on him, after all, he is handsome."

"No, No, No, No!"

"What do you mean, even Mia is after him, surely you must have a soft side for him, I can also tell he likes you too." Sophie said with a smirk

"What do you my Mia is after him?" I asked

"Oh! do I smell jealousy?"

"No, I'm not jealous."

"Yeah, right... Anyways, I'm a girl and I know when a girl has a crush on someone."

"This is great, if I can get John to like Mia, maybe he'll leave my ass alone." I thought

"Sophie, do you think..."

I was interrupted by the sound of the soldiers guns and the screams of the survivors

"Everyone stay alerted, we're being attacked by a large number of B16 zombies!"

"Zombies!!, Save me!"

"Help me!"

"Arghhh!!!"

"What's going on?" Sophie asked

"What's it this time?" I said

"Let's check it out" Sophie said running out of the tent

'The apocalypse has really changed her, she's really brave.' I thought.

Outside the tent, Sophie and I saw the survivors and soldiers running in different directions.

"What's going on?" Sophie asked

"What's chasing them?"

Suddenly right before our eyes, a pale orange coloured zombie was munching on someone's arm when it saw us.

The zombie didn't waste any time sprinting towards us.

"I-it's those evolved zombies." Sophie said.

[Chaos sword has been withdrawn (+50) extra stat added to your strength]

Withdrawing my chaos sword from my inventory, I slashed at the zombie's chest and to my surprise, nothing happened, the zombie kept on charging like I had done nothing at all.

Dragging Sophie to the side, we avoided the zombie that was charging towards us.

"What the fuck!"

The zombie twisted it's body in an inhumanly way, sprinting towards us again.

"Kate, the head!" Sophie yelled

With that, I slashed at the charging zombie's head, slicing through it easily.

"We need to get out of here now!" I said to Sophie who was still trying to fix her posture

"We can't leave everyone like this." Sophie said

"Alright, let's get to the others, with their help we'll be able to save more."

On another part of the camp

"Chase, take Stacy and Mia out of here, I'll meet you later." Raphael said to the young boy in the military uniform

"But...."

"Now!"

With that, chase took his shotgun running towards the survivors.

"Look Kate, it's Mia!" Sophie yelled pointing at Mia who was struggling to defend herself against the multiple zombies that were attacking her.

With great speed, I was able to close the distance between us while Sophie ran behind me.

Mia was surprised at my sudden appearance and accidentally shot an ice arrow towards me.

"Arghhh!!" I let out a pain filled scream as the arrow pierced through my shoulder.

Noticing what she had done, Mia ran towards me.

"Are you okay?" She asked while shooting down another zombie.

"How am I supposed to be okay?, There's a fucking arrow on my shoulder."

"We don't have time for this, take it out and help me out here." Mia said shooting down three more zombies

"Kate what happened?." Sophie asked as she approached us.

I gave Mia the stink eye before pulling out the ice arrow from my shoulder

"Arghhh!!"

"It's nothing." I said before slashing at a zombie

"Here Sophie." Mia said throwing Sophie the gun she had retrieved from Johnny

"A gun? What am I supposed to do with it?" Sophie asked

"What do you mean what are you supposed to do with it, shoot the damn gun." Mia said angrily

"Now that's just rude."

*Swish!!* *Bang!!* *Don!!*

After a few minutes of punching and shooting down the zombies with the help of both me, Sophie and Mia, we were able to defeat the large number of pale orange coloured zombie that attacked us.
