Anurak, Let Me Love You!

When Anurak was young, his father became a toyboy for a gang leader and even abandoned his family for another woman. His mother died when he was 10. But before her death, she had planted some notions into his mind. Notions that gay men are husband snatchers and evil. Notions that a true man can only depend on himself. Notions that a man can only love one woman. These notions turned Anurak into an overly sensitive young boy, who would rather suffer in silence than ask for help. He would rather wallow in confusion than ask questions. Because he didn't want to disappoint his late mother, he tried his best to adhere to her principles. Things were fine until he entered the university. First, gay men lurked everywhere he turned to and the sight of them made it very hard for him to keep ignoring his true feelings. Then his girlfriend broke up with him and the only man who made him tempted enough to break his principles decided to force things. --------------------------------------------------------------------- WARNING: This is a coming-of-age story about a Bisexual young man. What should I have done?

After getting to a secluded corner, the guy holding the knife suddenly hit Anurak on the neck with his arm, making him stumble forward.

Being a fighter, Anurak had been on guard, waiting for their first move. The moment the guy hit him, Anurak intentionally exaggerated his stumble and used that momentum to create a reasonable distance between himself and his attackers. He staggered forward, went down on his knees, and simultaneously rolled twice before standing up. The moment he was on his feet, he rushed forward and tried to punch the guy closest to him, but the guy dodged.

"Nice." Anurak sneered. "I have not stretched my legs since I got here. This is good. But before we get into it, why don't you tell me who sent you."

As Anurak was speaking, he kept dancing on his feet, never relaxing, watching his victims. For Anurak, they were victims. He had already seen that they knew nothing about fighting. He had also decided to transfer all his previous aggression to them.

I will beat them within an inch of their lives, he thought to himself.

"Nobody sent us. We are just here to correct an injustice." The bulky of the two guys replied, sounding tough.

"How dare you disrespect P'King and P'Payu? We will put you in your place today." The second guy shouted. "Let's teach him the lesson of his life." He yelled at his partner before rushing at Anurak.

Big mistake.

The moment he moved, Anurak's right leg also left the ground. He had calculated the distance, and it was just perfect for a lighting kick. Anurak instantly balanced his left leg and swung his right leg off the ground. In sync with the victim's face, Anurak's tennis landed perfectly in between his chin and his chest.

All the guy knew was that he took a single step and something hit him on the neck. He felt a piercing, sharp pain in his throat and couldn't breathe for a moment. Unable to bear the pain, he grabbed at his throat and went down on his knees, coughing and gasping. He was already on the floor before he knew what hit him. Not because he figured it out, but because he saw the same thing happening to his partner after his blurry sight became clearer. The guy watched as Anurak's leg connected with his bulky friend's jaw and sent him flying. Unlike the first guy who was still holding on to his throat, the bulky guy went down and stayed there. He had fainted.

"Too bad." Anurak sneered in anger. "How can you guys be this clumsy? You can't fight, yet you think you are qualified to teach me, Anurak, the incomparable, a lesson. Hahahaha! You are not qualified."

The first guy was by now sure that they had made a grave mistake, and he started begging.

"Boss, boss, please, we didn't know. Please show mercy. It is our fault for not recognizing Mount Thai. Boss please." He remained on his two kneels and kept hitting his head on the ground.

If only he knew that once Anurak gets upset, It is either he gets beaten black and blue or you find a way to knock him out. Since Anurak had decided that he would take his frustration out on them, nothing short of a gun to his head could stop him.

Anurak dragged the two boys to the inner part of the secluded corner they brought him to. He took off their clothes and used them as gags and ropes to tie their legs and hands. After making sure they wouldn't draw any attention, he propped them up against a bus and took his time taking rounds, using them as a punching bag. They were completely unable to defend themselves.

As Anurak was beating them, it was as if he was back at home, watching his father beat his mother.

Remembering how useless and powerless he was back then, his punches became heavier. He then remembered how he was beaten until one of his legs was broken by the gang that harassed his girlfriend. The training he went through. The fights during those training, his father beating him up for his step-mum, the first time he hit his father back and warned him never to raise his hands on him (Anurak) again.

All the anger he hid within, that night, he unleashed them on those poor boys and it felt good.

It took the honking of a car coming into the car park for him to stop. By then, they were covered in blood, as he had burst their lips and loosened some teeth mercilessly.

Satisfied with his handiwork, Anurak gathered his purchase that had dropped to the ground and scattered when he was hit on his neck. He then snuck into one of the stairs. Just as he had presumed, the stairs led back to the hostels. It was the second exit of the building.

When Anurak got to his room, it took him several minutes to calm down.

Because he had a photogenic memory, he remembered everything from when he was just 4 years old. The fights between his parents, and the beatings his mother got. The words his father and mother spoke to each other and him. The good, the bad, and the ugly part of their relationship. As long as it happened in his presence, Anurak remembered it.

But the memories that always haunted him were the violent ones.

Once his mood gets hyper, he would have flashes of those moments. Though Anurak was very sensitive, he wasn't easily angered. But when he does get angry to the point of having to fight, he would need extra help to stop.

If not for that car honk that jolted him back to his senses, Anurak would have just kept going.

Alone in his room and feeling angry with himself, Anurak stared at his bruised knuckles. His gaze was dazed as he tried to block the undesirable scenes flashing in his mind.

He still felt like hitting something.

Back at home, on the once in a while that his mood got tussled up like this, he would visit the Muay Thai gym where he learned boxing and vent his anger on a sandbag for at least an hour or so. It always helped him divert his attention and thoughts.

Sure that he wouldn't be able to sleep well that night, Anurak treated his knuckles, completed his cooking, and gave the food to his friend and Sud. He didn't tell them anything.

Friday morning,

Anurak woke up feeling grumpy. His sleep was like a bumpy ride, jumping from one violent past incident to the other. Most of it was centered on the day he was ganged up on. Relieving every kick, punch, and hit. If he listened too much to his mind, he could hear all the insults hurled at him as hard objects were hitting his body.

This was the most annoying part of it all. He doesn't just remember them vividly, he also dreams about them.

Checking his phone, the first thing he saw was several missed calls from Sophea.

Shai!

They were supposed to talk the previous night, but due to his dark mood, Anurak got drunk after dropping Sud's food off. Apparently, his phone rang several times to no avail.

Sophea will be so pissed.

Anurak immediately dialed her number and she picked on the first ring.

"Babe!" Anurak mumbled.

"You stood me up!" Sophea snapped. She was furious.

Maybe it was because they had never been apart until now, she got scared when she couldn't get to him. And because she was used to staying up and chatting into the night with him, it didn't occur to her on time that he might have slept off.

"I am sorry, babe."

"What is it?" Sophea just noticed that something was off.

"I was attacked last night. See my hand." Anurak showed his purple knuckles to Sophea.

On the other side, Sophea's voice caught in her throat and her eyes grew dark. Then something Anurak told her occurred to her, and her eyes widened in shock.

"Was it who I think it was?" Sophea asked curiously.

"Who do you think…"

"Didn't you say P'Sud said King's fans might attack you?"

"Aah, yeah. I forgot I already told you about them." Anurak signed.

"So they are the ones."

"Yes."

"How many?"

"Just two boys."

"Oh," Sophea huffed in relief. To her, two people weren't anything Anurak couldn't handle with ease. "So, how are they?"

"I don't know." Anurak shrugged.

Alarmed, Sophea sat up and glared at him, "What do you mean?"

"I left them unconscious."

"Anurak!" Sophea's voice was reproachful. "Didn't P'Sud ask you to lie low?"

Once in a while, when she had witnessed Anurak lose his cool, he had needed help to stop attacking. Though it wasn't a common sight, whenever he got violent, it was like a demon possessed him and this worried Sophea a lot. Therefore, she always tried to avoid doing anything that would cause him to argue with others once she discovered that most of his crazy fights usually had something to do with her.

Hearing that something similar happened when he was far away and there was nobody there to prevent things from escalating worried her.

Anurak ran his fingers through his short hair in frustration.

"What was I supposed to do? Let them beat me up?"

"At least don't leave them unconscious. What if something happened after you were gone?"

"Nobody saw me."

Sophea saw that he was sounding upset again, so she decided to drop the issue for now. It was better to mention it again when Anurak was totally calm. Pressuring him when he was angry was often counterproductive.

"So what's the plan for today? I will be at my department's SOTUS rehearsals all day."

"I am going to the gym."

"You sound so grumpy. Let me cheer you up a bit." Sophea dropped her voice an octave lower and whispered to him with a lasciviously suggestive tone.

Hearing that, Anurak's dull eyes brightened and he flashed his best smile.

"How?" He sounded cocky.

"Give me a minute."

Sophea giggled as she crawled off her bed. She picked a portable phone stand from her best side table and quickly fixed her phone to it. She then placed it on the window, still close to her bed.

Sophea crawled to the center of her bed and started stripping…

After pumping his eggs out, twice in a roll, Anurak felt as light as a feather and his mood underwent a 180-degree turnaround. Now he was ready to take over the world, starting from the gym.
