Upon the platform, the creature known as Rek'Sai tilted its massive head, seemingly sensing something, and revealed a cruel, savage grin.
"Ha ha... it appears that Nasus is quite enraged. Who has dared to provoke him? Hahaha... but what does that matter to me? Wouldn't you agree, human lad?"
Tilting his head, the crocodilian creature eyed the tall, battered man before him, grinning widely with a bloodthirsty smile.
Rising silently, Jarvan tightened his grip on the spear, wordlessly aiming its tip at Rek'Sai.
"Tch, what a tenacious fellow," the crocodilian scoffed. "If my strength weren't diminished by several factors, eliminating you would be a mere trifling matter."
Standing resolute, Jarvan spoke gravely, "But you no longer possess that strength."
"Oh? Are you... mocking me?" Staring in disbelief at Jarvan, Rek'Sai wore an expression of astonishment.
In the next moment, the creature's surprise vanished, replaced by a sinister smile. "Human lad, should I commend your bravery for daring to mock the great Rek'Sai? Tell me, should I slice you into pieces to savor, or simply grind you into a paste and swallow you whole?"
The massive bone blade was abruptly raised, and a violent gust of wind surged forth.
"Let's slice you into meat strips! I adore meat strips! Hahahaha!!!" Amidst his frenzied laughter, Rek'Sai lunged forward with his colossal form. "Submit and become the feast of the great Rek'Sai! Counterattack! [Terror of the Cannibal]!"
In an instant, the sharp, enormous bone blade unleashed a myriad of terrifying slashes, overwhelming the man in a storm of chaotic blade shadows.
"Oh no..." The approaching enemy had completely entered the dead angle of Jarvan's spear. He faced a relentless onslaught of terrifying blades, akin to a tempest.
The gleaming, massive bone blade danced in Rek'Sai's hands like a bloody chainsaw, tearing through flesh!
"Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!"
As the weapons clashed, countless sparks erupted, mingled with the blood that rained down. Despite his desperate defense, numerous blades pierced through the spear's defenses, mercilessly drawing blood from Jarvan's body.
"Hahahahaha!!! Cry! Scream! Fear! Tremble! And then die!" Amidst the violent storm of blades, Rek'Sai roared and laughed maniacally.
Gritting his teeth, Jarvan struggled against the tempest of blades, shouting, "Counterattack... cough cough..."
Blood surged to his throat, drowning his words.
"Do you wish to resist? Do you wish to resist?! But is it too late? Is it too late?! Hahahaha!!! Come and try!" As blood splattered, Rek'Sai laughed cruelly. "Watch as I... shred you into pieces! Hahahaha!!!"
...
On a platform hundreds of meters away, a bloody slaughter unfolded.
Teemo glanced at Riven with concern and asked, "Shall we... provide assistance?"
Clenching her teeth, the silver-haired woman resolutely raised her turquoise greatsword. "Is there any need to ask? Of course..."
However, Shyvana, standing before her, abruptly extended a hand, blocking Riven. The red-haired woman's face betrayed no emotion. "Please... wait a moment."
"You! Very well..." Meeting Shyvana's gaze for several seconds, Riven ultimately chose to temporarily retreat. "I will trust you this once, Prince."
Bending slightly with a cold demeanor, Shyvana replied, "Thank you."
In a place unseen, Shyvana's left hand, hidden behind her back, gripped her garment tightly, the once fair skin now visibly tense with bulging veins.
The little girl holding the small fox suddenly looked back, a hint of confusion crossing her face as she furrowed her brow.
"Hmm? Little Annie, what is it?" Riven inquired upon noticing the girl's movement.
"Nothing, just... I seem to sense something strange," the little girl pondered, shaking her head. "Perhaps it was just my imagination."
...
"My dear prey, how do you feel now?" Rek'Sai grinned widely, exposing rows of sharp teeth, licking the bits of flesh and blood from his bone blade. "This is merely an appetizer."
"Thud."
Jarvan's spear struck the ground heavily as he wiped the blood from his lips, his expression resolute. "Words are futile; let us fight!"
The sharp tip of the spear pointed directly at Rek'Sai, the man's face devoid of the anticipated fear of a hunted creature.
The prey's tenacious provocation finally enraged Rek'Sai, who narrowed his blood-red eyes and sneered, "Indeed, a stubborn cockroach! But human lad, I regret to inform you that my patience and mercy have been utterly exhausted. What follows is the true feast of slaughter!"
With his blood-red gaze fixated on Jarvan's companions, Rek'Sai cruelly laughed, "Come at me all at once! For the great Rek'Sai has grown weary of one-on-one duels. Let me show you what a blood-soaked hell truly is! Hahahahaha!!!"
The sharp, massive bone blade lifted slightly, this time, Rek'Sai aimed to include everyone present in his assault.
The fierce winds on the platform intensified, accompanied by a brutal, murderous intent that surged toward the group.
"Slap."
With a soft sound, Jarvan stepped forward, his demeanor calm as he blocked all malice and murderous intent before him. "I have said, your opponent is me!"
"Hahahaha!!! Foolish human lad, do you truly believe you can prevent the great Rek'Sai from attacking your companions?" With a roar, Rek'Sai bellowed at Jarvan, "Roar!!! Your speed is nothing but a crawl in my eyes!"
With that, his massive form transformed into countless afterimages, lunging toward Jarvan's companions, as his boisterous laughter echoed across the platform. "Hahahaha! I've decided! I've decided! I will save you for last! You wish to protect them? Then I shall delight in tearing them apart before your eyes, one by one!"
"Fear! Repent! Human lad, you should regret having angered the great Rek'Sai! Hahahaha!!!" Amidst the tremendous roar, countless afterimages bypassed Jarvan, the sharp bone blade crashing down upon Riven and her companions.
Yet, undeterred by the crocodilian's taunts, Jarvan remained steadfast. He quietly raised his spear, the sharp blade pointed toward the heavens, standing tall like a resolute flag upon the platform.
"This is the oath of the Lightshield Knight: 'Never retreat! Never yield! Never regret!' By blood I swear! By my body I stand! In this circle, the oath-bearer cannot flee, and the onlooker cannot evade!" A violent force surged through the air, as Jarvan's spear cleaved toward Rek'Sai, declaring, "In the name of Prince Jarvan IV of Demacia! Rek'Sai! This battle shall be to the death!"
"Boom!"
The violent force erupted, and the order of rules instantly spread across the platform, centering on Jarvan's position. The power of runes swiftly formed a colossal circle, an invisible binding force halting the frenzied Rek'Sai at the edge of the rune circle.
"Oh? The power of rules?" Rek'Sai's cruel, red eyes narrowed as he let out a surprised yet violent laugh. "Human lad, you have mastered the power of rules? Hahahahaha! You truly surprise me!"
"Now, I am even more eager! Eager to see what surprises you can bring me! Hahahahaha!!!" Laughing maniacally, Rek'Sai turned to face Jarvan. "Struggle! Go mad! The harder you struggle, the more excited I become! Hahahahaha!"
Jarvan's incantation for his ultimate move was inspired by the oath of the Knights of the Red Branch from Northern Ireland—yes, I shamelessly borrowed it...
