Chapter 84 : Sudden Attack

The dawn hasn't even broken when General Versatel's son, Vainstale, leads an army to eradicate everyone in Flavius camp. The camp becomes hectic as Sveratis knights struggle to defend what little left they have.

They came from the same motherland. They fight for the same motherland. If their origin and purpose is for the Kingdom they call home, then one must wonder why do they fight each other.

Many bloods spilled on that day. Outnumbered, Flavius and his men couldn't withstand the power of Vainstale and his army.

"Get the wounded to the camp. 3rd squad, get ready!" Virion yelled. He turned to Flavius. "You should go."

"Go where? We have nowhere to go," said Flavius.

"Take everyone you can and get to safety. Engineers, medics, people who are not trained to fight. You must take them to safety. We, knights, will hold them off," said Virion.

Virion was about to go but Flavius held his arm.

"You know it's impossible!" said Flavius as he looked him in the eye.

Before they could gather their thoughts, Vainstale yelled.

"You're surrounded. Surrender now!" said Vainstale.

Flavius and Virion watched Vainstale walk towards them. It's too late to escape.

"It's over!" said Vainstale.

"What happened to the Prince?" Virion asks.

"The Prince?" Vainstale scoff. "He's dead. The age of the Royals is over. It's time for a new empire to rise. An empire led by my family, the Vanadis."

"PREPOSTEROUS!!! You will not get your way," said Flavius.

"Ah now that I remember it, that hot-headed Prince is rather dumb isn't he?" said Vainstale as he plays around with his sword. "He sneaked into the Palace trying to save his mother. Little did he know, he's only giving us his life."

Vainstaile laugh. "Surrender now! And I will make sure I give you a quick death."

Virion gritted his teeth. Is this the end?

Suddenly, the camp went blackout again.

"Huh? What's this?" Vainstale wondered.

Virion looked at Flavius. "The generator again?"

Flavius shrugs.

They heard strange sounds from the sky and they saw Vainstale's battleship suddenly fall one by one.

"What's happening?!" Vainstale asked one of his men.

"We don't know, Sir. We lost communications with all our aircraft. Our guns also can't be used," said a soldier.

"Well then go find out and fix it!!!" said Vainstale. He looks around. Everything related to technology suddenly died. He heard loud commotions not far from him. He looked at the source of the commotion. Waiting for someone or something to appear.

Kaizo and Ramenman defeat Vainstale's soldiers as they walk closer to him. Flavius and Virion recognize them immediately.

"Who- who are you?! How dare you!" said Vainstale.

Kaizo and Ramenman looked at each other.

"W-we're... passing travelers," said Ramenman. "Say, do you know where the bathroom is?"

Flavius chuckled.

"Y-you...." Vainstale grunt. He looked at his soldiers. "Get them!"

Vainstale and his soldiers now focused on Kaizo and Ramenman.

Flavius looked at Virion.

"They here for us?"

"We have no idea if they're here as friends or not. Either way, this is a good opportunity to fight back," said Virion.

"Knights! MARCH!!!" Virion yelled.

Vainstale's soldiers who mostly focused on high-tech guns got overwhelmed. Virion soon reaches Ramenman.

"I see you decide to visit back," said Virion as he fends off some soldiers.

"Do I know you?" Ramenman asks.

"I checked confiscated items. I see those batons are yours."

Ramenman kicked a soldier and hit him with his baton. "Well, thanks for watching over my luggage. Glad this place has a good luggage storage service."

"Those fallen ships, was that you?"

"EMP," Ramenman replied. We used emp to put down their electronics. Lucky us, most of these soldiers used electric guns."

"You're bold," said Virion. "They can't use their tech anymore but we're still outnumbered."

"Nahh... I wouldn't worry about that," Ramenman replied.

Virion looked at him.

"Watch," said Ramenman with a smug face. He moves fast like a flash and before Virion knows it, many soldiers are on the ground.

Virion looked at Ramenman in awe. Ramenman smirked.

"You're good...." said Virion with a slow nod. "What are you?"

"Save the chit chat for later," said Kaizo who suddenly came. "We need Vainstale alive."

Virion nods.

They look around, searching for Vainstale. But he's nowhere to be found.

"We lost him. He could've run away the moment he realizes he's at disadvantage," said Virion.

Kaizo opens his watch. "Lahap, are you watching?"

"Yep," Lahap replied. "Go west. Vainstale is trying to reach the border."

"Go find him. I'll take care of things around here," said Ramenman.

Kaizo nodded. He immediately runs to the forest. Virion was about to follow Kaizo. But Ramenman stopped him.

"He can handle it. He's the fastest on our team. Besides, your people need you more," said Ramenman as he pointed behind him.

Virion looked around. Many of his knights are wounded. He nodded.

"Alright. I trust you," said Virion.

Soon, the tide of the battle turned in Flavius' favor. When the sun fully rises, the battle is over. After long hesitation, Kaizo agreed to bring the Astrum spaceship to the camp and use the spaceship's medical bay to treat the wounded. Many of Flavius' knights didn't survive. But they won the battle. They took Vainstale and locked him in Astrum's brig.
