Chapter 4 Hockey Puck as a Souvenir
Like every other day or week, we all were hanging around at the Central Perk, everyone is there except Joey.
Ryan: "okay. If I were omnipotent for a day, I would want for that day to never end."
Monica: "Smart Bro. Ok, Alright. Phoebe?"
Phoebe: "Okay, okay. If I were omnipotent for a day, I would want, um, world peace, no more hunger, good things for the rainforest...And bigger boobs!"
Ross: "Yeah, see. you took mine. Chandler, what about you?"
Chandler: "Uh, if I were omnipotent for a day, I'd... make myself omnipotent forever."
Rachel: See, there's always one guy. (Mocking) "If I had a wish, I'd wish for three more wishes."
Chandler: "Hey! Ryan said the same thing."
Rachel: "Ah, Ryan's answer was smart, yours selfish"
Ryan: "So true, Cheers to that" I drank the milk coffee.
Joey enters soon later.
All: "Hey Joey". "Hi". "Hey, buddy."
Monica: "Hey, Joey, what would you do if you were omnipotent?"
Joey: "Probably kill me,!"
Ryan: "Wait What?"
Monica: "..Excuse me?"
Joey: "Hey, if Little Joey's dead, then I got no reason to live!"
Ryan: "Oh, dude. you misunderstood"
Ross: "Joey, uh- OMnipotent."
Joey: "You are? Ross, I'm sorry.."
After our morning dose of shenanigans, we all went to work on our job, me mostly staying home. Doing work from home.
Around the afternoon at the Central Perk, Ryan, Ross, and Monica are watching Phoebe sleep.
Monica: "How does she do that?"
Ryan: "Who knows? But she sounds so peaceful?"
Ross: "Yeah, I cannot sleep in a public place."
Monica: Would you look at her? She is so peaceful.
Ryan: "Yeah, like a Dead MUMMMMMYYYYY!!!!!!!" I screamed near her ear.
Phoebe: "(waking and startling them) Oh! What what what! ...Oh, Hi Ryan, Hi."
Ryan: "Hi sunshine"
Ross: "It's okay, y'know, you just nodded off again."
Monica: "What's going on with you?"
Phoebe: "I got no sleep last night!"
Ross: "Why?"
Phoebe: "My grandmother has this new boyfriend, and they're both kind of insecure in bed. Oh, and deaf. So they're constantly, like, having to reassure each other that they're having a good time. You have no idea how loud they are!"
Ryan: "OMG! Cannot imagine tha—Wait apparently, I can. Oh, take this image out of my head, Ugh"
Monica: "Well, if you want, you can stay with Rachel and me tonight."
Phoebe: "Thanks."
After we notice that Phoebe has fallen asleep on the couch in Central Park. Phoebe wakes up and explains that she didn't get any sleep last night, as her grandmother's boyfriend was staying over. Apparently, they made a lot of noise in bed, keeping her up all night. Monica offers to let her sleep over, and Phoebe accepts.
Soon Chandler and Joey enter. Apparently, Joey is counting his steps.
Joey: "...Ninety-five, ninety-six, ninety-seven. See, I told you! Less than a hundred steps from our place to here."
Chandler: "You got waaaay too much free time, man."
Joey: "(to Ross and Ryan) Hey! Here's the birthday boys! Ross, Ryan check it out: hockey tickets, Rangers-Penguins, tonight at the Garden, and we're taking you both."
Chandler: "Happy birthday, pal!"
Joey: "We love you, man. (Kisses Ross and try to kiss Me)"
Ryan: "pup, pa, ra. Don't you dare buddy, these smooth cheeks are only for ladies."
Ross: "Funny, my birthday was seven months ago. And I don't this today is Ryan's either."
Ryan: "Dude we are brother doesn't mean we are twins or have same birth-day."
Joey: "So?"
Ryan: "I smell something fishy here, Hum!"
Ross: "So, I'm guessing you had an extra ticket and couldn't decide which one of you got to bring a date?"
Ryan: "Bro, they have four ticket means they couldn't bring or got any date."
Chandler: "Well, aren't we Mr. "The glass is half empty."
Chandler and Joey enter the coffee house and greet Ross and Ryan with tickets to that night's Rangers and Penguins hockey game. They pretend that the tickets are a birthday present, but Ross remarks that his birthday was seven months ago and it was not Ryan's brithday, realizing they had four tickets and could not find a date to bring there.
Ross: "Oh my God, oh- is today the twentieth, October twentieth?"
Monica: "Oh, I was hoping you wouldn't remember."
Ryan: "Ok, did I miss something?"
Ross: "Ohhh."
Joey: "What's wrong with the twentieth?"
Chandler: "Eleven days before Halloween... all the good costumes are gone?"
Ryan: "Oh wait, is our ugh I forgot, what was it?"
Ross: "Today's the day Carol and I first.. consummated our physical relationship. (Joey is puzzled.) Sex. ..You know what, I-I'd better pass on the game. I think I'm just gonna go home and think about my ex-wife and her lesbian lover."
Ryan: "Ok, only I did hear wrong or what?"
Joey: "The hell with hockey, let's all do that!"
Ryan: "Ok, it was not only me?"
Chandler: "(trying to stop Ross leaving) C'mon, Ross! You, me, Ryan, Joey, ice, guys' night out, c'mon, whaddya say, big guy, (Pretending to punch him in the stomach.) Huh? Huh? Huh?"
Ross: "What are you doing?"
Chandler: "(stops) I have no idea."
Joey: "C'mon, Ross! Tell him Ryan."
Ryan: "Yes, Bro. boy's night out sound exciting. We should have fun instead of thinking your wife and her new lesbian girlfriend are doing."
Ross: "Alright, alright, maybe it'll take my mind off it. Do you promise to buy me a big thumb finger?"
Chandler: "You got it."
Ross, looking at the tickets, then realizes that it is the anniversary of when he and Carol first slept together. He becomes depressed and tells us that he won't attend the game, opting to spend the night thinking about his ex-wife and her lesbian lover. Ross is about to go home, but Chandler, Joey and Ryan is able to convince Ross to attend the game by promising that they will buy him a big foam finger for him to wear.
Soon later Rachel runs up cluching an envelope.
Rachel: "Look-look-look-look-look, my first paycheck! Look at the window, there's my name! Hi, me!"
Ryan: "I remember my first paycheck I was 12 at that time, mom and dad were very proud at me."
Monica: "Yeah, they did, we had a party that day. We were proud at our little Ryan at that time."
Phoebe: "oh, oh. I remember the day I got my first paycheck. There was a cave in one of the mines, and eight people were killed."
Ryan: "Well that took a dark turn"
Monica: "Wow, you worked in a mine?"
Phoebe: "I worked in a Dairy Queen, why?"
Rachel: "God, isn't this exciting? I earned this. I wiped tables for it, I steamed milk for it, and it was totally—(opens envelope)—not worth it. Who's FICA? Why's he getting all my money? I mean, what- Chandler, look at that."
Chandler: "(looking) Oh, this is not that bad."
Joey: "Oh, you're fine, yeah, for a first job."
Ross: "You can totally, totally live on this."
Ryan: "Yeah, it's only two zero shorter than mine, Fun fact no body count zero anymore."
Monica: "Yeah, yeah."
Ross: "Oh, by the way, great service tonight."
All: "Oh! Yeah!" "Terrific service" "Unbelievable." "All the milk and stuff? Great"
Rachel comes over, excited after receiving her first-ever paycheck. However, her excitement is short-lived when she discovers that she has earned very little after taxes. We try to cheer her up, saying that it is a good earnings for a first job and that she will easily be able to live off of them. There is a pause, and…
We all get out wallets out and give generous tips to Rachel. Poor soul really needs it.
Guys: H"ockey! (We go to leave but are blocked by three of Rachel's friends, Leslie, Kiki, and Joanne. The guys pause to stare at them.) Hockey! Hockey. (The guys.)"
Before the match, walking, toward to watch the match, on Street, Chandler, Joey and Me are kicking a can to each other.
Chandler: "...Poulet passes it up to Leetch! (Passes it to Joey.)"
Joey: "Leetch spots Messier in the crease- there's the pass! (He kicks it to Ross, but Ross is staring into a shop window.)"
Chandler: "We'll take a brief time out while Messier stops to look at some women's shoes."
Ross: "Carol was wearing boots just like those the night that we- we first- y'know. Fact, she, uh- she never took'em off, 'cause we-we- (off Chandler's look) Sorry. Sorry."
After that little miss happ, we soon walk on. Ryan, Chandler and Joey start to talk but Ross stops and whines.
Joey: "What?"
Ryan: "Bro, what happen?"
Ross: "Peach pit."
Chandler: "Yes, Bunny?"
Ross: "(points) Peach pit. That night we, uh- we had-"
Joey: "-Peaches?"
Ross: "Actually, nectarines, but basically..."
Chandler: "(to Joey and Ryan) Could've been a peach."
Ross: "Then, uh, then we got dressed, and I-I... I walked her to the- (looks up, realises, and points) -the bus stop... I'm fine."
Ryan: "I don't think you are. Bro, you are only remembering good thing,"
Joey: "Hey, that women got an ass like Carol's! (We turn to stare at him.) What? Thought we were trying to find good stuff."
After reaching at the place We were trying to find our seats.
Ross: "(squeezing past people) Sorry, sorry... Uh-oh."
Ryan: "Ok don't tell me you both roleplayed as a hockey player that night."
Ross: "Not that"
Chandler: "What? There was ice there that night with Carol? Plastic seats? Four thousand angry Pittsburgh fans?"
Ross: "No, actually I was just saying it looks like we're not sitting together. But now you mention it, there was ice there that night... It was the first frost..."
Joey: "C'mon, sit. Just sit down, sit."
Ryan: "*Whisper* Thank god I am not near ross"
Chandler: "Ha, did you say something?"
Ryan: "Na, just excited to watch,...Phew"
After the few minutes of watching the match.
Ross: "Get him! GET HIM! Get him! Get- YESSS! Not laughing now, are ya pal!"
Chandler: "(to Ross) See buddy, that's all you need, a bunch of toothless guys hitting each other with sticks."
Ryan: "????"
Ross: "Pass it! Pass it!"
Chandler: "He's open!"
Ryan: "Come on dude, Shoot that thing."
All: "Shoot! Shoot! Shoot!"
The player shoots and the puck flies off the rink and… hits Ross in the face. Chandler looks concerned until he notices...
Chandler: "Hey, look, we're on that TV thing!"
Chandler, Ryan and Joey hold the puck and wave at the TV thing.
Soon After that we took ross to the hospital,
Soon reaching at the Emergency Room, Chandler, Ryan and Joey are leading Ross in.
Ryan: "(To ross) Bro keep your head up or look up"
Chandler: "(to the receptionist)'Scuse me."
Receptionist: "(holds up her hand—she is on the phone) It says to call this number if you're not completely satisfied with this candy bar. Well, I'm not completely satisfied."
Chandler: "Listen, it's kind of an emergency. Well, I guess you know that, or we'd be in the predicament room. (The receptionist glares at him.)"
Receptionist: "(on phone) Hold on. (To Chandler) Fill these out, sit over there. (Tosses him some forms.)
Ross: "(jumping to his feet) Look, I don't wanna make any trouble, okay, but I'm in a lot of pain here, alright? My face is dented."
Ryan: "yeah, he had really hard hit before."
Receptionist: "Well, you'll have to wait your turn."
Joey: "Well, how long do you think it'll be?"
Receptionist: "(sarcastic) Any minute now."
Ross: "Hey, this- (she gives him a look and the guys back off) Heyy..."
After hours of waiting in The Emergency Room, Joey is miming hockey pucks hitting ross foreheads. Chandler and Ryan realize it's getting tense and goes to the receptionist again.
Ryan: "Excuse me"
Chandler: "Yeah, look, we've been here for over an hour, and a lot of people less sick than my friend have gone in. I mean, that guy with the toe thing? Who's he sleeping with? (She slides the gladd panel over and Chandler talks through it in a loud voice.) Oh, c'mon Dora, don't be mad... I know we both said some things we didn't mean, but that doesn't mean we still don't love each other. (To the waiting room.) Y'know, I feel like I've lost her.. (She slides the panel back, he turns, and it takes him by surprise.) Ba-!"
Ryan: "*Mocking* You will get her next time dude, next time"
Again, waiting in The Emergency Room, Ross is still going on about his first night with Carol.
Ross: "I remember the moonlight coming through the window- and her face had the most incredible glow."
Chandler: "Yes, the moon, the glow, the magical feeling, you did this part- Could I get some painkillers over here, please?"
Ryan: "(Looking at the chandler) Please, Make that two."
Joey: "He's right, enough, already. What is the big deal about today? So you slept with her for the first time, so what? You slept with her for seven years after that."
Ross: "Look, it's just a little more complicated..."
Ryan: "What's more complicate than this? She left you bro, forget her."
Chandler: "Yeah, what? What? What is it? That she left you? That she likes women? That she left you for another woman that likes women?"
Ross: "Little louder, okay, I think there's a man on the twelfth floor in a coma that didn't quite hear you..."
Ryan: "Truth is always louder and more hurtful, bro."
Chandler: "Then what?"
Ross: "My first time with Carol was... (He mumbles the last part)"
Joey and Ryan: "What?" "I don't hear that last part, Again."
Ross: "It was my first time."
Joey and Ryan: "With Carol?" "Seriously, mine was around Fifth- (Ross gives us a look.) "" Oh."" "Sorry".
Chandler: "So in your whole life, you've only been with one—(He gets a look too)—oh."
Ryan: "Even though I don't understand your pain, but I fell it,"
Joey: "Whoah, boy, hockey was a big mistake! There was a whole bunch of stuff we could've done tonight!"
Again at The Emergency Room, Ross is absent.
Joey: "Man. Can you believe he's only had sex with one woman?"
Ryan: "Yeah, although 1 is better than 0, Right?"
Chandler: "Ugh-ha, I think it's great. Y'know, it's sweet, it's romantic..."
Joey: "Really?"
Ryan: "Do you Really?"
Chandler: "No, you kidding? Ryan don't mind this but the guy's a freak... (Ross enters off camera)"
Chandler, Joey and Ryan: "Hey, man" "buddy." "Bro"
Ross: "Hi. (He is wearing a piece of steel bandaged to his nose. He tosses some forms onto reception desk.)"
Receptionist: "(sarcastic) Oh, that's attractive."
Chandler: "Oh, I thought you were great in Silence of the Lambs. Oh come on, admit it! All things considered; you had fun tonight."
Ross: "Fun? Where was the fun? Tell me specifically, which part was the fun part? Where's my puck?"
Ryan: "Ah, Joey had it before."
Joey: "Oh, ah- the kid has it."
Ross: "The kid...? (To the kid) Excuse me, uh, that's, that's my puck."
Kid: "I found it. Finder's keepers, losers weepers. (Ross looks at Chandler for help.)"
Chandler: "You gotta do it, man."
Ryan: "This won't go well."
Ross: "(to the kid) Oh yeah? Well, I'm rubber, you're glue, whatever—(to Chandler)—can't do it. (to the kid) Listen, uh- gimme back my puck."
Kid: "No."
Ross: "'Yes', how about. C'mere. Gimme!"
Kid: "No! No! (They start to fight over it.)"
Ryan: "I said it again, this won't go well,"
Receptionist: "Hey! Hey! No rough holding in my ER!"
Ross: "(tries to snatch it from the kid) GIVE ME MY PUCK!! (But it files out of his grasp and knocks out the receptionist)"
Ryan: "I take it back, it went really well."
Ross: "Yeah,...Now that was fun."
