Phone Call

I am wondering what the king’s thinking and what he has decided while the princess sleeps on my lap. I watch her beautiful, naive and calm face as I wonder if I could give her for my daughter. My precious Aubrey deserves a life just as much as Sheena does. Tears fall from my eyes and I catch them before they damage the perfectness of Sheena below me.

My phone rings and Sheena jerks upright suddenly. I grab my phone and bring it towards my ear. My eyes fill with tears as screaming ensues behind the phone. “Shut up!”the man screams loudly, causing me to flinch away from the phone. Sheena looks at me with fear in her eyes. Her father has filled her in on my situation. She runs to call her father and I try to stop her but it’s impossible.
