27: Forward

Grindelwald struggled. He watched as Newt Scamander and a man were talking to each other, they seemed close... He looked at the Aurors that were getting near him and looked down at his hands that were sealed with transfigured chains, his wand was just taken by Newt Scamander who didn't use a wand at all to conjure spells and not only he dodged his spells faster than he could react, but he also counter-attacked as he dodged. It was insane, Newt was dodging and attacking as he used several spells to overpower him. But now he was distracted! Grindelwald used wandless magic and pointed his finger towards Newt Scamander, shouting: "Avada Kedavra!" He knew that Azes Flamel was a man that didn't use wands.

It was proved that wizards and witches do not need their wands to use magic, they need intent, will, and focus. Grindelwald used the Killing Curse a lot, so he knows that he needs the will and intent to kill the target, he would try to use it every day for the past years so he could have a secret weapon if he needed. He knew that he had a supporter within the people of the MACUSA, so he wasn't preoccupied that he won't be able to escape, he wanted to remove the obstacles now. The green beam of magic energy went towards Newt, no one expected that so they were all caught by surprise... Everyone except Azes Flamel. The space between Newt and Grindelwald wasn't so great, it was 20 feet (6 meters), the curse would hit Newt in one second and Azes would not have enough space to create a shield strong enough to resist the sheer force of the Killing Curse. Then he did something no one expected.

The green beam had hit someone, at first, the people of MACUSA thought it had hitten Newt Scamander, but they saw him standing there, breathing. Then they looked behind him, the same man that was talking to him, Azes Flamel, was between Newt and the Killing Curse. He protected Newt with his body! When the Grindelwald, Newt, and the others who saw this were stunned and with no reaction, Azes coughed and smiled while look at a stunned Grindelwald: "Ouch, can't you be a little gentler with your Killing Curses? It hurts like hell." Grindelwald now had seen Azes' face, he finally understood why Newt Scamander had dodged and counter-attacked his spells so easily. He looked at Azes as he approached him, touching his forehead, and saying: "I know why you hate Muggles."

But... His lips weren't moving. Images appeared on his mind... Hitler, the wars, the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the other disasters that were caused by Muggles. "But you are just like them." Images of his rising, of him killing uncountable muggles, destroying cities and killing those who were against him. Next a man, a name accompanied this man, Hitler. He killed a lot of people, caused a lot of killing, killed those who were against him. "Do you see the pattern here? You and him, Wizard and Muggle, both of you killed... Will kill a lot of people. I won't let that happen while I'm still in this world." Images and more images followed after Azes said this, trees, cities, animals, muggles and wizards alike working together to keep the world safe and prosperity overflowing. Azes is building the foundation for this to happen.

"You cannot stop the progress, Grindelwald." The vision faded to black as he felt people dragging him. What people saw was Azes being hit by the Killing Curse, living, walking towards Grindelwald, and touching him in the forehead, making him faint. He then told the Aurors to take him before he wakes up or he would try to kill someone again, and that he won't be there to stop the second Killing Curse. Newt still couldn't process what just happened, his brain was trying to process what happened and how could his Master just survived the Killing Curse!? Azes looked at him with a mysterious smile, like he knew something he didn't and it made Newt more curious about what Azes knew and what he didn't... From that day onwards, Azes was known as the first person that was directly hit by a Killing Curse and survived.

Newt Scamander also became known not only as Azes Flamel apprentice but also as a powerful wizard that won a clean duel against the dark wizard Grindelwald. Azes' fame continued to grow and Newt's fame just started to grow! After that day, Azes watched the rain in New York pour out the memories of that day of destruction... He decided to change fate and destiny. He went forward and found Clarence and Nagini, he wasn't sure if he could remove a Blood Curse from Nagini, but he could at least stop her transformation from progressing any further, giving her the control over her transformation. As for the Obscurus, Azes just let Clarence and Nagini go lovey-dovey and he offered him to take his Obscurus out, what he did. How? Well, Azes' affinity towards every living being that isn't human also works on magical creatures and magic entities, he just used his [Time Control] to stop the destruction of the soul while he invited the Obscurus out of Clarence's body.

After the Obscurus left his body, Azes tool the Obscurus and teleported it to Azirius. Now Nagini could control her transformation while Clarence wasn't an Obscuri anymore, they cried as they hugged, Azes just made them sign a contract that would protect their minds from mental attacks while making them shut their mouths if someone asks anything about him. He gave both them a house where they could live happily, he rescued the creatures from the circus where Nagini was, and he sent a mission for his organization: Kill everyone who is loyal go Grindelwald. And then the slaughter began, everyday witches and wizards would simply vanish and their bodies would be found completely destroyed. Three days later, Grindelwald came to Britain and was judged and sentenced to death by Dementor Kiss in front of an audience of 5 thousand wizards and witches including Albus Dumbledore and Azes Flamel that secured that no witch or wizard would try to stop the execution.

After his execution, Azes continued to control the world from the shadows, providing guidance to his apprentices Newt Scamander and Leta Lestrange that married one year after Grindelwald was executed, Azes accepted Leta as his apprentice and showed her around Azirius where she and Newt decided to have a manor. Leta was kicked out of the Lestrange family for some reason that even Azes couldn't understand, Pure Bloods and their worm brain... But after Leta and Newt married, Azes successfully stopped a war, got control over the world, and could now initiate his plans. For the Greater Good...? Nah, for the Beasts Good.
