AngelSubzero - Douma's Series (S1)

For centuries, The Hasu Mountains were believed to hold many tales, the most notable being Paradise Shrine, led by a divine being known as Douma who's said to bring peace and eternity. However, a sudden climatic catastrophe changes all that with the arrival of a surreal visitor, leading to Douma being on the radar instead of the actual threat. With humanity's efforts being futile, Douma may be the only hope, for the showdown between other worlds will determine the fate of humanity. I don't own the character Douma and the pictures, credit goes to their rightful owners. AngelSubzero is also on Wattpad and Quotev. Published: November 11 2023

Chapter 11

The temperature was getting colder by the minute. As time passed the creatures started slowing down giving Douma the chance to get away, but he wasn't going to. If he lets these critters get away they'll start attacking the villages too, so he had to get rid of them at once.

Both of his fans were still good as new despite the impact from their metallic shells. Even if something were to happen to them which was unlikely, he still had other methods of fighting back.

Despite taking no damage the pests were already exhausted. Douma got his fans ready in case the monsters attacked him again which seemed to be the case. One of them threw itself at him nearly stabbing his shoulder with its claw.

Another one rushed towards him but knocked over the lantern on the ground instead, engulfing in flames that were now spreading. Cries of the aquatic creature could be heard, like any other organism, fire had always been a major weakness.

Douma watched as the flames spread to the other monsters, the scent of rotting wood filled the air along with secreting oil from the broken lantern. It was a little concerning, the fire could spread to the whole town, he had to do something quick.

Just as he was about to move over to where the burning creatures were, one of them got up and ran towards him angrily. They just keep coming. The blonde male placed his palm against his forehead, unamused.

While the walking fish was still after him, something at the corner of his vision caught his attention, a large toy hammer on the floor in front of a booth. Douma smirked and picked it up. When the creature got close he wacked the side of its head with a lot of force, sending the creature flying towards a wall.

Laughing, Douma swung the toy hammer at the other two creatures creeping up behind him. They fell to the ground clumsily, confused by this new weapon their opponent was wielding.

The town was about to be lit up in flames as the creatures continued scrambling around, one of them rolling on the ground in desperation. Smoke rose turning the view cloudy. The now scorching heat overlapped the once cold chills. Douma fanned himself for a while thinking of a solution which already crossed his mind a long time ago.

He was reluctant to use it given the ongoing climatic situation but he had no other choice. Covering his face he observed the creatures and falling planks of wood, making sure there was enough leeway for him to carry out his next move. Hopefully there was no one else within the radius they would have a hard time recovering. The only ones to meet their demise were the invasive creatures in town and the scorching flames.

As the creatures started bumping into each other which caused them to fall to the ground at once, Douma jumped up swiftly, careful not to break the roof of the stores as they were in a fragile state from all the damage he had to do this quietly without the aliens knowing it might alert them, falling debris would divert their attention.

This is it. Douma eyed the spot where he would unleash his attack, gathering all the energy that was building up. It was pressurizing but not too difficult to control.

Chilly mist started forming behind him as the temperature around him grew colder sending a gush of wind outwards in all directions.

"Freezing Clouds!" Spirals of mist plummeted to the ground sending waves of icicles and frost in every corner. Frost started appearing on the surface, the creatures were sent flying some frozen before being crushed by the strong mist. Douma focused on the targets, careful not to hit any store, it was challenging due to the amount of power this ability of his possesses, he tried.

The fire slowly met its fate it was extinguished in a matter of seconds leaving burn marks on the walls of the stores that were partially filled with patches now. Douma wasn't entirely bothered by it, fire breaking out during the bug attack was always a possibility thought of.

Landing on the ground with some frost following after him, the town was back to the desolate state it was in when the blonde got there. By tomorrow there should be reports about it and some inspections.

To his dismay, some parts of town were now destroyed but there wasn't much he could do, it was a large-scale attack. He could only hope that the frost would melt once the sun rises, coming into contact with it could cause severe problems.

"That wasn't too hard now I can head back and rest." Douma placed his fans back in his pockets and walked towards the path he came from.

Just as he was about to leave, he heard a noise from under the cracks.

"Hmm?" That's strange, nothing could have survived the avalanche of frost and snow let alone in a small cooped up area.

Douma approached the rubble near one of the shops. To his horror, smaller versions of the creatures resembling silverfish were scurrying away fast. Two of the monsters were lying on the ground, frozen and dead but somehow the other one split itself into multiple bugs. He speculated it must have known he was going to unleash such an attack. Earlier before he had underestimated these things, now they seem to be an even bigger problem, something that the authorities had to take note of fast.

Stopping these few wasn't going to do anything much. There were still more of those things wandering around there was no denying that. He will have to think of a different plan. With his final effort, Douma's eyes glowed as he telepathically took over the minds of the silverfish and froze their nerves, turning them into shattered ice.

A strong gust of wind swiveled down as Douma looked up. There were dark clouds covering the stars in the night sky. The impact of using such a strong technique came with severe consequences that people may not forgive him for even though he saved their lives. Contrary to that, their own actions contributed to this, always demanding he solve their problems with his own abilities, he could always object, but he was kind.

Douma left the town and headed back to his shrine, preparing for the chaos that was about to unfold the day after.
