Ji Yeong Gi absentmindedly rolled the shot glass in his hand, his jaw locked.
It was clear that he was very annoyed and wanted to be alone with his thoughts, but some people were just too oblivious to understand.
"Hey, Yeong Gi, what's bothering you? Need us to beat someone up? Just say the word!"
His hand stopped moving.
"H-hey, I think it's best that you don't bother him," some nameless guy nudged the annoying dumb*ss cautioningly. But the idiot didn't understand his friend's good intentions.
"Shut up! Hey, Yeong Gi, our guys are always available. Just tell me wh—"
Yeong Gi suddenly moved, smashing the shot glass half-filled with alcohol square on the retard's head.
"Ah—!" The guy cried. Blood poured out from the wound and he almost tripped over the broken glass from all his floundering.
"Hey, you okay?!" His less-retarded friend helped him up, "S-sorry, Yeong Gi. We'll leave you alone," he tactfully said, bowing his head submissively to Yeong Gi. He hurriedly brought his friend away from the silently fuming man before he became the next victim.
"Seriously, you too?" Ahn Yu Jin said, her gaze drifting between her frenemy, Bomi, and Ji Yeong Gi. She had no clue on why these two were in such bad moods.
"Did you get cuckolded or something? Why so glum, you wench?" Yu Jin asked, teasing the girl. "Tell me the truth; this is about Hyuk, right?"
Bomi glared at her distastefully. Just the mention of that creep's name made her feel repulsed. "Don't say that b*stard's name around me. I'll get angry."
"Why? Did he really cheat on you?!" Ahn Yu Jin's eyes lit up. Seeing her so mad was really fun.
"We weren't even a thing to begin with!" Bomi retorted. "Anyways, don't ever say his name again. So disgusting."
"Why? Why? What happened?" Ahn Yu Jin jumped around the other girl, her gossipy side flaring. She was really curious about what transpired between the two for Bomi to be so riled up.
"Aah, shut up! It's none of your d*mn business, b*tch!" Bomi screamed. She felt frustrated just thinking about it. 'F*ck! So annoying!'
"Lee Hyuk, that f*cking creep—!" Bomi screeched. Words could not describe how annoyed she was. She had met all sorts of thugs, gangsters, and crooks, but someone like Lee Hyuk was a first. In the list of all the crazy people she had met, he probably ranked second, right under Ji Yeong Gi. Perhaps she should have moved him to first place—at least Ji Yeong Gi had the decency to not pine after his own blood relative.
Upon hearing Hyuk's name, Yeong Gi's interest was piqued. "Why? Did he do something to you?" Yeong Gi asked leisurely.
"Sh—" Bomi was about to curse at him, but stopped herself immediately after realising that it was Yeong Gi who asked her the question. "T-that guy—Lee Hyuk—I was going to sleep with him but—"
"He actually moaned his sister's name when we were going to... you know... do that," she didn't dare to raise her voice anymore and obediently answered him, her back covered in cold sweat from the close-call. Ji Yeong Gi was a real crazy b*tch; she'd probably die if she offended him.
"Hmm." Yeong Gi hummed in reply. Bomi watched him cautiously, her feet shifting uneasily. She wondered if he was going to punish her for saying bad things about his friend. Before this, he had tacitly warned them not to mess with Hyuk since he regarded him highly, for some odd reason. But it was Yeong Gi they were talking about here—all his actions were odd and impossible to comprehend. Even now, she had no idea what he was thinking about.
"And?" Yeong Gi tilted her head, telling her to continue speaking.
"H-huh?" Bomi looked up at him, startled. She measured his expression but even for someone who was used to manipulating people like her found it hard to read it. His eyes were like an abyss; dark and bottomless.
"So how did you know it was his sister he was calling out?" Yeong Gi kindly supplied her with a question.
"Oh... before we went to the hotel, we met up with his sister by accident. He clearly called her 'Yeo Ri' back then. So when I heard it again at that time... I slapped him and went home," Bomi explained.
"Isn't it just a coincidence? Maybe the girl he liked had the same name as his sister?" Yu Jin airily commented.
"I thought so too, at first. But thinking back, his behaviour was really unusual. She was going out with some guys and when he found out, he went ballistic and beat the sh*t out of them. I get that he's her big brother, but in what world would a brother do something like that? At most, they'll just scold the sister for going out with random men. It's like he's obsessed with his sister," Bomi said, her expression bitter.
"Oh?" Yeong Gi's lips curled up. "Yeo Ri, was it?" It seems like he had heard something interesting.
Hyuk had never mentioned his family to him, but perhaps his aversion to going home had something to do with his little sister.
He turned to look at the two dunces who had disturbed his peace earlier. "Oi, you. I want you to go look up some information about the girl. Her name should be Lee Yeo Ri."
"Bomi, what did she look like? Describe her to them," he glanced at the girl, pointing his chin at the two whom he had tasked to do his biddings.
"The girl... hm, she's cute. Not just cute, but really cute. She'll probably be a beauty in the future. She looked young; about 12 or 13? Long hair, straight bangs. Kinda like..." Bomi paused, her heart skipping a beat. "Kinda like... my... hair..." she slowed her words as understanding dawned inside her mind. Sh*t! No wonder he didn't seem to mind her advances! Since the beginning, he had already been using her as a replacement.
"Ugh—" Bile was rising up in her throat as she thought back to all those times they made out. Was he thinking about her—his little sister—whenever they kissed? What was he thinking about when she pressed her body close to him? Whatever they did together—was that what he wanted to do with the girl? When he took the lead, was he actually thinking about the things he wanted to do to the poor little girl?
Bomi felt a soft tug in her heart. Yeo Ri's life must have been miserable, to have a brother lusting after her. The girl was so sweet and innocent... and so, so defenceless. One day, she will definitely be corrupted by that devil.
She felt suffocated by the thought of the danger the girl was in. Bomi was not a heartless person; she would still feel bad if something bad happened to the innocent little girl.
"What are you thinking, Bomi?" Yeong Gi tilted his head curiously at Bomi's ever-changing expressions.
Bomi jolted out of her thoughts at the sound of Yeong Gi's voice. "N-no, nothing."
Yeong Gi chuckled at her poor attempt to lie, "Is it about that girl, Yeo Ri? Don't worry, I'll look into it. If Hyuk was really like that... then he should be punished, no?"
Bomi trembled, her eyes shaking. "Y-yes," she said, nodding reluctantly. Yeong Gi was showing that look again—the exact same look when he wanted to torture someone.
There was nothing she could do anymore. Not just Hyuk, but Yeo Ri as well, were in danger.
