Although the uncomfortable silence seemed to last an eternity for some, the event was anything but swift.
Before David had the chance to further unsettle the poor children, a scatter of footsteps sounded from behind the locked door, gaining volume as time passed.
Before long, there was a rustle of metal clanking and the door opened.
A tall woman, followed by a group of four, fully armored soldiers strutted from the corridor into the room. Taking a moment to make themselves comfortable, the woman made a brief observation at the surrounding children/teenagers, raising her eyebrows at the disturbed atmosphere.
Just as swiftly, however, she seemed to quickly lose interest before taking a seat on a nearby bed. The kids quickly scurried away, keeping distance.
"Gentlemen…and ladies" The woman said, glancing briefly at a certain skinny kid.
Unbothered by the confused gaze directed towards her, she continued.
"...Most of you should know why you are here…"
"You see, each and everyone of you is either a thief, a convicted 'criminal', a son of a traitor…or a noble."
The woman finished with a bit of contempt at the end.
"Most of the time, you lot would've been dead. Either swinging from one of the nearby trees…or thrown into slavery."
…
"But…the empire had given you a chance to prove yourself…worthy of its mercy-" The woman ended abruptly, before standing up and carefully brushing off the non-existent dust on her bottom.
"...Be grateful…for you will be trained, fed and armed."
"So prove your worth, whether by dying on the battlefield…or survive and return as a proud Noxian."
Finishing what she came for, she waved at the soldiers before leaving the room. The door closed with a loud *BANG.
Just before the sounds of their footsteps became indistinguishable, her cold voice mysteriously echoed evenly across the spacious room.
"Desertion… will not be tolerated."
....
Her voice seemed to have a magical effect for instantly, something changed within the atmosphere.
The eyes of the children suddenly became frantic, their pupils vibrating intensely. The light within their eyes dimmed for a moment before returning.
Their breaths became calmer and the air of despair disappeared and instead, there was anxiousness and eager.
David did not seem to notice this abnormality.
He was busy inspecting the kids, trying to find someone that he can use to his advantage.
As an avid anime, novel and game connoisseur, it was obvious that the world he was now in is the world of League of Legends.
Although he played the game, as well as having watched the various trailers, he knew he was in deep shit putting the pieces of the puzzle together.
Long story short, He met Aurelion Sol. Got thrown into somewhere near or in Noxian active territory which resulted in being mistaken for a runaway noble because of his colorful clothes. He was then imprisoned and thrown into war as part of Noxus' infamous children foot soldiers.
David concluded confidently when the metal door suddenly opened and a soldier walked in.
,
David was still daydreaming when a skinny figure saw an opportunity and took it.
She sent a speedy kick towards David's poor shin before walking away casually, jolting the man awake with a yelp.
The unimpressed armored figure then ordered them to follow to which the kids lined up abnormally swift and followed the single man out obediently.
David quickly followed the gang, sent a dumbfounded look towards the skinny kid before muttering under his breath, "...Bruh."
