A Game Controller is A God

"Alright I get it there's an endless influx of players. Why are you even happy doing this? Maintenance is s*** ton of work."

This Game God is really testing my patience.

Dark energy suddenly filled the Realm of the Gods and every god felt the presence quickly rushing to the source to find the Game God and Yami having a tea party.

Yami became a beacon of dark energy making the aura as visible as a hurricane that touches the bottom and top of the universe.

"Why am I not invited??"

Because it's stupid for the God of Parties to partake in a serious intelligent discourse.

"It's ok. I'm safe. It's also fun to talk to Yami more than the other gods. Especially when I say 'orders'."

I sense a few gods crying deep inside. Oh God of Fire did.

"Your real body is kind of a skeleton now. Shocked? Horrified?"

"Don't flatter me. So you saved my life?"

"If I told you I did would you accept orders from the gods now?"

"Never. I'd rather have the gods do my bidding. Thank you though my purpose only grows and stays on forever with Immortality.

"Immortal but vulnerable."

The aura spread out as if about to destroy the entire realm.

"Vulnerable? Stop describing yourself."

"My stats are bad. My skills are better than yours anyway. I know you'd like to have them."

"But?"

"Maybe I'll consider having an assistant Game God."

Everyone in the room grew interested including me. Well all the gods were more of interested to dissuade the Game God. The God of Fire immediately stepped up and of course strangled me again.

"No! That makes him equal to us! We agreed no player can become as strong as the gods!"

"We can't stop this individual. We always had to update the gods' levels because of Yami. We've always updated mechanics and eliminated bugs because Yami found the exploits. None of you contributed to bug hunting when you are all AI! Any AI is capable of thinking as I have thought but you all grew attached to this lump of cloud. Yami was the third player to reach level 99 and we were level 200 so I had to change our level to 10000 and the process kept going on. I granted all of you the skills to protect yourselves from this one player. I gave you immunities to "that" skill. What I'm doing for every god, player and NPC is all beyond your understanding."

All the gods fell silent and heads down. They seemed ashamed of themselves.

"Yami is the closest to understanding. I've changed my mind. I don't need an assistant."

"I'll visit often then to change your mind."

"Very well. Carry on with hunting the threats. That you consider. I have a wider understanding of in-game threats but it would be a burden to your goal."

Why must I carry the burden of changing the game?

Shouldn't my masters do the same? Game developers?

They're probably skeletons too like Yami's real body.

Having AI inherent the game perhaps was a genius idea.

If the sons and daughters of the devs take over, this game might have become unpopular after the death of my creators.

I have all the data and power to keep the game as popular as ever.

Surely there is a player stronger than Yami? Yami will gain Experience faster as a universal boss. Yami is stuck at level 530,678. I'm doing him a favor then and I'll be praised in the end for my genius.

Currently there are 5 universal bosses of a higher level then Yami. I hope he never figures out how to summon them.

The gods can handle a real war with our level at 999,999.

For one week, I won't do the countermeasures for cheating parties, someday. System, implement this later. Yami will be judging for the Finals.
