Gavin's Past

The next day, Ariana was waiting for the Gavin at the same new place where Gavin took her. After some time Gavin reached there. They greeted eachother and sit beside the bonfire. "Do you treat everyone of your friends like this?",Ariana asked him suddenly. Gavin curved his face upward and replied, "Haha! No! I'm not that into girls." Ariana widened her eyes, "Do you like boys then?" She bit her lips. Gavin started laughing loudly, "You are really dumbo. I am not that you are thinking. It's just some experiences of my past that I don't waste my feelings like this. I doesn't mean I don't marry any woman, I'll when I found right one.... And I treat you like this because you are just like me. I was same as you a few years ago. So, I just want to make you happy."

"Like you? What happened with you in the past?", Ariana was surprised as she uttered those words. Gavin looked in her eyes, "It's a long story.... When I was studying in the school. I never bothered too much about the girls around me. I was carefree and happy bird like you. One of my classmates started showing her interest in me. I tried to ignore her. Eventually, I realised that she had strong affection feelings for me. So, I gave it a chance. We both came in relationship. Everything was fine when we were in same city.We used to spend time together. She loved me alot back then. Whenever we had fight, she always tried to solve it. I thought she could never leave me, as her love was eternal for me. Unfortunately, I had to move in another city due to my father's transfer. I even told my mother about her. She used to talk with my mother on phone. Ariana! You know we had crossed the every limit in love. We had spent many nights with eachother.I had never thought about any other girl."

Gavin took a deep breathe and continued, "In the end, she cheated on me with other guy. Because of the long distance relationship, she came closer to other guy. I found about it by myself, whereas she denied it. Then I had to show her the proof how she had deceived me. You know? I still agreed to forgive her. But she didn't agree. I was broken at that time. I took 3 years to move on from a five years relationship.I cried every night. I wanted to end my life. But my mother and my friends, they helped me to get over her. After that incident, I have decided to not to love someone again. I met many girls after her, yet I never fall in love with any of them. Many girls have proposed me, I just simply denied them. Because I don't want to be miserable as I used to be. Even, I hate sad songs and drama now. I just don't want to love anyone."

Gavin looked at Ariana who was sitting silently and listening to his every word. The corner of her eyes was filled with tears. It seems that she was holding them. Gavin moved towards her and held her hand in his hand, " When I met you, you remind me about myself. You are like a female version of me. That's why I treat you special. I don't want anyone to hurt you like I was hurted by her. The day I ignored you, I realised that I don't have trivial feelings for you. You are special for me." He planted a kiss on her forehead. He wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes and cupped her cheeks in his hands," Don't worry I won't let anyone hurt you. I'm always with you unless I found a good man for you."

Ariana didn't utter a word. She was feeling very sad by hearing Gavin's past. She wanted to remove all his pains and suffering. Deep down in her heart, she really hate that girl. She really wanted to know about her, however she didn't want to hurt him by asking him again and again. She immediately hugged him started crying. Gavin was moved by her this behaviour. She could feel his pain, "Do you still have feelings for her?" Ariana couldn't stop herself and asked him. Gavin replied, "No! I don't. It doesn't even hurt anymore. So, don't worry and stop crying." He patted her head. Ariana felt relieved by hearing his words.

"Are you going back tomorrow?", Ariana asked. Gavin shook his head in no. "Could you come an hour earlier tomorrow here? We will go somewhere.", Ariana requested him while holding his hand. Gavin immediately agreed. He tried to ask her about the place but she didn't tell, as it was a surprise. They spent a few hour there while talking and after that they went back to their homes.

Ariana's heart was clenched by hearing the bad experience of Gavin's life. Although Ariana was very emphatic, she had never felt this way for someone. She was started evaluating the reason behind her this feelings towards him.
