Pizza time

"Pizza Delivery!"

*Click*

The door opened revealing the occupant to be a teenage boy that looked to be fifteen.

"Oh, the pizza's here. That was quick," the teenage boy spoke whilst taking the pizza away.

"Pizza!" A younger voice screamed out in enthusiasm, and the source of the voice poked his head out behind the taller boy.

The younger voice looked to be a small twelve-year-old boy. He smiled excitedly at the prospect of pizza. The child, seconds later, then noticed the uniqueness about the pizza deliverer.

"Hey mister...why are you wearing a mask?" asked the child with innocent curiosity.

That's right. The pizza deliverer was a masked man. No, it didn't just cover the mouth. The white mask covered his entire face, and no one can tell what expression or face the pizza deliverer was making.

"Kel!" the taller of the two scolded Kel.

"B-But Hero..." Kel complained, sounding confused, downhearted, and sad.

"It's alright," the stranger quickly spoke to ease the two of them.

Seeing that it worked to calm down the boy, the stranger bent down towards the boy, and started whispering conspiratorially while putting an open hand next to where his mouth should be.

"If you must know...I wear this mask because I was fighting a giant dragon, and defeated it. However, before it was defeated, it breathed fire on my face, scarring and burning me. That's why I wear this mask."

"Wow really!?" Kel asked excitedly, practically brimming with energy.

"*Kuhum,* yes. Now, if you must excuse me, I have more pizzas to deliver."

The stranger bowed, silently bidding farewell as he took the money from Hero. Seconds later, he got on a bike that seemed familiar to the two. Thinking for a bit, the two recognized it was the pizza place GINO'S delivery bike.

Once the stranger finally zoomed away, Kel looked up at the older boy besides him.

"...he's weird."

Hero, although reluctant, can't help but secretly agree with his younger brother. Who would expect an unknown masked man to be a pizza deliverer? No one can help but feel wary of the shady masked person.

"Yes, he was...unique. Now come on, we need to eat this pizza quickly while it's hot."

The two brothers closed the door and went back inside their house to eat the hot, steaming freshly baked pizza.

...

(So I really am in that traumatizing game huh? Those two's appearance only proves that theor-no, that reality is true.)

Letting out a sigh, I continued riding on my bike, beginning to head towards my next delivery destination while reminiscing on what had happened.

I stood there, in front of a plaza, thinking about what I should do now that I'm here. While I was standing there, people were giving me strange gazes, looking twice at me.

It is probably due to my mask. I can't say I can blame them.

(What do I do now? I didn't exactly think this through, I don't have money or any form of identification, what exactly was I going to do coming here anyways?

I was going to.. to ….. Uhmmm, Explore? Yes, that was it I was going to explore,

Pfft yeah right 'explore', a neet like me thinking of exploring what a joke.)

Quickly shaking my head to get rid of that line of thought I began to fully think about my situation.

(Okay let's get serious now, First, let's find out what to do and then improvise.)

Deciding on my course of action I went inside one of the stores in the plaza. A small restaurant called Gino's.

(A restaurant should be a good place to start.)

*Ding*

A small bell sounded right above the door making my presence known to the occupant inside. Inside I saw the person manning the counter raise an eyebrow towards my entrance.

The interior of the pizza parlor is derived mainly from wooden planks for the flooring, and a mismatched brick patterned wall. Seven tables were situated around the place, a jukebox was situated at the back of the restaurant with a fridge for drinks on the left. While on the right was an arcade machine. There were random posters and motivational quotes plastered around the wall. There was also a giant sign that had the restaurant name on it.

All in all, this looked like a proper restaurant.

Looking around some more I could see that there was a flyer hiring for a temporary delivery boy right in front of the counter.

Thinking that earning a bit of money would be an ideal action to take, I questioned the receptionist on the flyer.

"Hey, are you guys still hiring?"

"Are you interested in the job?"

"Yeah, I need to make some pocket change."

The receptionist looked at me. After a few more uncomfortable seconds, he finally spoke, nodding his head.

"Well you're in luck pal. Our regular delivery boy is currently busy dealing with personal issues on a busy day. He should be back later today so for now you're hired. Here, take this uniform and put it on. I need you to deliver 6 pizzas by the next hour. That's all I need you to deliver, and then after you're done I'll pay you 30 bucks," the receptionist quickly said while taking a uniform from below the counter and giving it to me.

The uniform was just a t-shirt, an apron, and a hat, all of which had the pizza parlors logo on them.

"Oh, just like that?" I expected this to be much more complicated. That was kinda easier than I thought.

(What use was going to school then?)

"Yes, just like that, but well...I actually want to ask you why you're wearing that mask. Still, I know better than most to not ask personal questions. Now go change, I'll write down the addresses and put them on the pizzas. Also I forgot to mention this, but you'll be using our pizzeria's bicycle to deliver these."

A bicycle? That's gonna be a pain to deliver with.

Mentally sighing I decided to just get this job over with.

"Ummm...where do I change?" I asked hoping I won't have to change out in the open.

"In the back," he said, pointing behind him the back door that I assumed led to the kitchen.

"Now hurry up!"

"Ok ok, I'll get going now," I quickly replied, getting ready to get changed.

After getting dressed, I immediately began to follow the receptionist's orders, reading the addresses that were labeled on the pizza.

{House with the red car and red roof.}

"..."

Wait...these aren't addresses...these are descriptions! How do I know where to go? Who knows how big this town is?

Well, at least this makes my job a little easier.

Or did it?

(Now off to deliver pizzas.)

And so here I was, pedaling to the last address. hoping to get this over with quickly so that I can go back to my hom- wait since when did I start thinking of Es's room as home? Not that I mind...but she might.

(Best not get hopeful, everything could disappoint me.)

Still, it is nice that I'm already finding a place to call home in my strange situation.

Speaking of homes, I have now arrived at the last delivery.

Getting off the bicycle while making sure that it's parked safely, I began to make my way towards the last delivery of my job, carrying the last pizza

"Pizza delivery!" I yelled out after knocking on the door a couple of times.

I heard a voice inside yelling for someone to get the door. Hearing that, I stood there waiting. After at least a minute, someone finally decided to answer the door.

The door opened.

"Here's your piz-" I abruptly stopped, looking closely at the door opener

It was a boy with black hair and somewhat pale skin.

Although he looked to be some normal shut-in kid...there was something off with the boy. I don't know why, but it feels like there's some nagging sensation in my head, telling me there's something really wrong with him.

The kid stared at me emotionlessly with a blank face.

That is one hell of a poker face.

(This boy seems familiar...oh! This is Sunny, isn't it? No wonder something felt off. It must be because he is the main protagonist or something..,)

Brushing the feeling off, I decided to just hand him the pizza. In return, I was given payment, as well as a simple stare and a closed door.

(How rude, Oh well kids are kids.)

Still, I had a feeling there was something off about him. Why was it?

(Ah, forget it. I need to go back to get my money.)

As I was walking back to the bike, I felt something cold brush behind my neck.

I wasn't alarmed, since I got used to the strange stares that people gave me because of my mask, but something felt really off about this one.

Still, I couldn't help but slowly looked around for the source of this phenomenon, but it immediately disappeared, and I found nothing.

With this, I came up with a theory.

(This place is weird. Something feels so off, yet not at the same time. I better get back home fast.)

Getting on the bicycle I quickly began pedaling back to GINO's.

...

After changing from the uniform and back to my clothes I asked the clerk for my pay...which he did as promised.

Feeling a bit relieved that I wasn't cheated out of my pay, I thanked him sincerely.

"Thanks for the 30 bucks."

The clerk nodded at me.

"You're welcome. Now shoo, you're scaring my customers with your shady looking mask."

Leaving the store, I thought about how kind the clerk was to give me a job despite my suspicious appearance.

(What a nice guy.)

After taking a few steps outside, I stopped.

(What do I even do with my money? I can't even eat food because of my mask.)

I began to ponder while looking down at the ground.

(Don't really have a use for money right now I'll just save a bit of it and use the rest to buy Es some delicacies for now.)

With nothing else to do, I went to OtherMart. Arriving there, I started going through the candy store to buy some sweets for Es.

(I don't know if she likes chocolate or not, but it's worth a try. I mean...girls like sweets right…? On second thought I should buy something else as well, just in case she doesn't like sweets. Fruits are a good choice...maybe I should get a banana or something...?)

After thinking for a while, I decided to buy a chocolate and banana. I cash everything out totaling a little over $20 leaving me with 10 left.

(When does a chocolate and a banana cost more than $20!?)

Internally complaining, I took the plastic bag without a word, making my way back to where the door was.

Another long trek down the road.

End chap-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
