Rose tilted her head and gazed at Christopher. "We will never have children," she said, her voice placid, not laced with sorrow as he expected.
"That is correct, Love. We have already discussed this." His eyes narrowed as he watched her reaction to his answer. Still, no emotion was evident in her answer.
"I know, but haven't you ever wanted children?"
"For a time, yes," He smiled slightly at Rose, although not genuinely.
"However, now I like the way things are. Because I am a selfish man when it comes to you. I want you all to myself." Christopher moved towards her, but Rose held up her hands for him to stop.
"Is this what bothers you? That we will not have a child?" Chris asked, still attempting to gauge her emotions.
Rose slowly nodded at Chris.
