Death?

As he awoke from the daily bell from the church, he took his stuff and went downstairs leaving the inn. He went to the restaurant he had been visiting these days ever since he got here. It had been four months since he read that book and often hunted every day, getting by pretty well.

From the hunts, he used most of it to buy high-quality mana stones. Practicing with it and using the remaining coins on him to rent an inn. After four months he had already reached mid-D-rank.

He had started to start looking at his weapon differently, trying to challenge himself more. He tried to use his katana more, he started to challenge D-rank beasts, running when it was too much. He tried as much as possible to fight using his katana, after all, he had to master his weapon and be able to fully control it then on to techniques.

As usual, he out to the wild. It was a plain land filled with nothing but trees and bushes. As he walked, he had already found a D-rank beast to fight.

It was a creiza tyrannosaur, a beast best known for its defense. Unsheathing his katana, he held it with two hands as he rushed head-on to attack the beast.

"CRIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" it screeched as it rushed at Evan,

"CLANG"

The sound of metal resounded, attracting nearby beasts to the area. Feeling the resistance from it skin, Evan inferred it was an early D-rank, so he didn't have to run.

Looking around Evan had a calm expression as he continued to attack relentlessly at the beast. Up, down, left, right, and spin. Evan kept attacking crazily, the tyrannosaur going berserk stopped trying to avoid and rushed at him. With its high defense, it had no problems ignoring some attacks, heading for the kill.

"CRRIE-" As it opened its mouth to screech again, Evan's Katana had already entered its mouth,

"Puchi!" as the Katana passed through it, coming out of the other side.

"SHING" he drew his katana, swinging to his left, killing an E-rank beast that tried to ambush him.

"SWOOSH" his katana moved like flowing water as he cut down the beasts that started to appear one after another, then "Clang"

Evan felts his hands numb as he stared at the beast in front of him, looking at the beast in front of him, it was a large cat beast with long fangs coming down from its mouth, with green fur and black stripes.

A pedrina tiger, roared as it unleashed its aura. Feeling the aura he knew this was going to be troublesome because its aura had suppressed him, and he lost all mobility. Unleashing his own aura to fight against it, he gathered mana and he used it to strengthen him.

"ROOOAAAAAARRRR" the tiger roared as it lunged at him faster than he could block with his katana.

"RIIIIIPPPPP" Its claws tore through his clothes sinking into his skin. Bearing the pain he hurriedly slashed at it aiming to cut its claw off. "Swoosh" hitting nothing he saw the tiger had already retreated 5m away.

As he held his chest feeling the blood flowing out, he used mana to help him as he tried to use it to stop his blood flow, and it helped a bit. As he looked at the tiger inwardly thinking

"Damn it"

Looking at the tiger he held a pose that looked like he was about to attack as he raised his katana up high above his head. The tiger stared, calmly waiting like a predator watches its prey.

He readied himself as he was about to rush at the tiger looking at it with ferocity in his eyes as he gathered mana heavily on himself. The tiger prepared itself as it got in a pose and lowered itself like it was about to attack.

Then...

Kicking a nearby corpse of a beast next to him at its face, he made a grand escape. Running like the wind.

"Which idiot would fight a late-stage beast while being mid? Do I look like a super genius?" He ran at the speed of light, but suddenly

"GRAAAAH" Something lunged at him from his side as he fell and rolled with his katana still held by his hand.

He felt something on him as he opened his eyes he saw a scene he would never forget again. He saw two pairs of eyes coldly looking at him, as two claws ripped his chest.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, UGH" crying out in pain, he kicked the tiger by its stomach region, it got off. As he got up hurriedly to run while ignoring the pain.

"ROAAAARRR" the tiger roared as it jumped right at him. He immediately went down narrowly dodging it! He got up immediately and ran!!

The tiger seeing its frightened prey got more excited, as it once again rushed at it because jumping was a bit tiring.

Hearing it running after him from behind him, his heart raced as he tried to run faster! The tiger lunged at him once more!

He fell once again but this time before it put its paws on him he slid down, but he didn't run this time.

"No matter how I run, I can't escape this thing and I'm even injured" He saw the tiger climbing up as it made somewhat of a smile at him. He knew this thing was dead set on killing him.

"You think I'm afraid of you? If I'm going to die you're coming with ME" He shouted as he dashed to the tiger, the tiger pounced on him as well as a "CLANG" resounded in the area. Being pushed back he ran once more uncaring about his injuries as he stabbed at the tiger trying to kill it!

But alas, as much as he attacked the tiger did as well, with its defense Evan did no damage as it tore through his skin, with him bleeding everywhere. The fight was getting ballistic as Evan kept attacking one spot and the tiger kept using its claws wounding him. He thought a blow for blow would work but this was a blow for dying faster!

Once more he stabbed at it at the same spot he's been attacking, seeing a red spot. He was discouraged after all he was almost bloodied and he only got a drop of blood.

Finally, the tiger was done playing and Evan was out of energy, as it used its huge claw and used its slap on Evan's head to instakill him. Seeing this Evan didn't dodge as he watched it heading toward him. Once more time seemed to slow down as he saw the attack moving slowly toward him but he had no energy left to attack...
