----------------------------------------------------------------
As the X-Men combed through the base, Lynn's expression appeared slightly unusual.
Having sent Magneto and Mystique away, he had returned to the base alone. Instead of joining Logan and the others, he made his way to a concealed location.
If it weren't for Alice hacking into the base's control system, he might not have even been aware...
Underneath this very base, there existed an extraordinary space, hidden fifty meters below!
The space was not overly expansive, covering about 1,000 square meters, divided into rooms. Most contained archived materials from the X-Weapon program, as well as specialized laboratories.
Only William Stryker's authority extended to this part of the base.
Therefore, it currently remained vacant.
In the deepest corner of this space lay a unique cell where a mutant was confined.
Standing at the cell door, Lynn peered through a window forged by metal magic, observing the man inside. "So, you're one of the candidates for William Stryker's mutant elimination plan," he remarked.
William Stryker's plan consisted of two core elements.
One involved a brainwave enhancer.
The other, naturally, was Professor X's formidable psychic prowess.
However, apprehending Professor X wasn't a straightforward task. Even if caught, any complications during the operation or Professor X's overwhelming abilities could render Jason's brain fluid insufficient for control...
The entire plan hung in the balance.
William Stryker clearly wouldn't tolerate such a setback.
Hence, a psychic capable of replacing Professor X was absolutely essential.
"You're quite perceptive to have grasped it all so quickly," the occupant of the room said, a smirk gracing his features. "For his plan, he scoured every corner, taking several years to transfer me from the Trask laboratory."
And that occupant was, surprisingly, a woman.
With blonde hair, a short skirt, leather pants, high heels, and a white cape, she exuded an air of grace and elegance.
As she spoke, she elegantly brushed her blonde hair behind her ear, radiating charm.
Lynn's immediate guess proved accurate; moments ago, this woman had been in the form of a crystalline diamond—
Emma Frost.!!! The Hellfire Club's White Queen!
Later on, she switched allegiances to become a top mutant under Magneto's command.
"Trask Labs? The Sentinel Project?" Lynn's curiosity piqued.
Maintaining his composed demeanor, he regarded the White Queen with interest and inquired, "I've had several conversations with Magneto over the past two days. Though he's reticent about the details, I can deduce that the mutants who transitioned from the Hellfire Club to his ranks back then didn't meet favorable fates..."
"But now it seems, aside from your loss of freedom, you're faring well?"
In the past, Magneto had formed the Brotherhood of Mutants, primarily drawing members from the Hellfire Club.
Red Devil, Torrent, Angel Salvador (Dragonfly Girl)...
And subsequently, the rescued White Queen.
However, these individuals had since vanished. The most formidable presence by Magneto's side was Mystique, who had defected from the X-Men.
The disappeared mutants had likely either met their demise or been captured.
If Lynn recalled correctly, he had spotted Red Devil's head in Trask's lab during "Reversal of the Future."
Thus, it was hardly surprising that the White Queen was now imprisoned.
"You're acquainted with Magneto?" The White Queen's surprise was evident, quickly transforming into a sad expression. "It's her unique abilities that have her hanging onto life's last thread."
"Oh?" Lynn regarded her intently. "You weren't in your diamond form upon capture?"
The White Queen's diamond form granted her super strength, endurance, and defense. She could withstand extreme temperatures and endure extended periods without sustenance.
In this state, studying her powers was undoubtedly challenging.
Yet it wasn't an insurmountable task.
Lynn didn't believe her defenses were impervious to all damage if he were determined and ruthless!
After contemplating for a moment, he finally understood. "They... want to recruit you?"
Upon hearing this, the White Queen's pupils involuntarily contracted.
"How did you...?"
She regarded Lynn with a mix of astonishment and suspicion. "Who in the world are you? And why are you here?"
"It does seem likely," Lynn concurred.
Upon reflection, it made sense.
Psychics were a unique breed of mutants, rare and powerful. Emma Frost, once the Hellfire Club's White Queen, boasted one of the world's foremost psychic abilities.
She was indeed an Omega-level mutant.
If she could be recruited, high-ranking human officials would be ecstatic!
Perhaps, that very prospect was why the White Queen remained alive to this day.
"This gentleman..Seeing Lin En's reluctance to answer her question, a flicker of anger passed through the White Queen's eyes before swiftly vanishing.
In its place emerged a tantalizing hint: "Your presence here indicates something's happened above, right? Did you kill William Stryker?"
Her slightly parted cherry lips revealed a suggestion of a red tongue, enhancing her allure.
"Why do you assume that?"
Surprise registered on Lin En's face. "And you seem rather unguarded around me. When you saw me earlier, you immediately shifted to your diamond form...Aren't you concerned that I might be working for William Stryker?"
"Where is William Stryker? How could someone like you be in his employ?"
The White Queen's smile carried a touch of disdain, mingled with a flattering glint in her gaze. "The spiritual shield you possess is stronger than I could have anticipated. Even if Charles Xavier and I combined our efforts, breaking through might prove difficult..."
"A shield of this caliber isn't bestowed by another; it's forged from within."
"Thus, when I first laid eyes on you, I discerned you were a mutant."
"And a mutant surpassing both me and Charles Xavier in strength!"
It must be acknowledged that in the realm of psychic powers, this woman's prowess rivals that of Professor X, if not exceeding it. Their approaches, however, appear divergent.
Back then, Professor X hadn't deduced Lynn's spiritual immunity...
But she had!
"Indeed the White Queen, possessing such clarity even after years of imprisonment."
Appreciation lined Lin En's expression.
"It's mere sleight of hand, hardly worth noting before a potent mutant like you..."
The White Queen's flattery grew more pronounced. "Though your purpose eludes me, should you rescue me, I'm prepared to serve you—willing to do whatever it takes...anything!"
Her head almost brushed the window, her proximity striking.
As she spoke, her breath wafted in shades of blue.
Possibly due to her prolonged diamond state, Lin En didn't detect a scent in her exhalation.
Nevertheless, he stepped back without hesitation.
Meeting her intense gaze, he openly surveyed the White Queen's form. A strange smile surfaced on his lips. "So, you mean if I save you...you'll pledge yourself to me?"
What choice to make?
While this woman was undoubtedly captivating and the X gene had arrested her aging, leaving her appearance unaltered from her twenties.
Her every motion exuded sophistication and allure.
Yet... She was, after all, a contemporary of Professor X and Magneto!
Rescue her? Or let her be?
