Chapter 18. Godaime Hokage

"Saruto, you should come to the funeral", said Kushina from the door. Saruto didn't answer. He was doing push-ups. Saruto took a towel and wiped his sweat. "Why are you blaming yourself for his death?"

"You don't understand! I promised to save everyone!"

"To who?"

"I promised to the Hokage"

Kushina was silent for a moment. She let her head onto the door to rest. "Sandaime sacrificed himself for us. You should be paying him some respect!"

"Hey, don't you think I don't know that Kushina-nee! Just leave me alone!"

Saruto slid to the ground and sat down. Kushina shed some tears and left.

He kept hitting the back of his head on the door.

[Saruto, stop blaming yourself]

'Now you're starting it too'

[You weren't even close to him, why are you beating yourself over his death?]

'Because I lost my grandfather, just like that'

[Your past life doesn't exist anymore. Think about this life you have here]

'Yeah, I know'

Saruto slapped his face.

'I am an idiot'

He walked to his shower.

Saruto was watching the funeral on a tree branch. Shisui arrived there and sat next to him.

"I came soon as I heard"

Saruto without turning his head. "Shisui, did you find their hideout?"

"Yes, you said there would be only seven of them"

"Right"

"But there are more than seven"

"They are moving faster than I expected"

"What should we do?"

"Keep observing their moves and make sure Zetsu doesn't see you!"

"OK, Saruto-san!"

"Did you use Mokuton lately?"

"I am getting the hang of it"

"Be careful! It can hurt you"

"Okay. If I stay here any longer, we will get in trouble. I'll keep you updated"

Shisui body flicked away.

The next day, the elders, Danzo and Hokage's advisors held a meeting with Daimyo. Daimyo asked, "With Sandaime no longer with us and Yondaime in hospital, we should select the Godaime. So, tell me who are the candidates!"

Koharu spoke, "I talked to Jiraya, one of the three legendary sannin but he refused"

"He also proposed to choose Tsunade who came back for the funeral", said Homura.

"You're not serious. Sandaime died in the hands of his student and you're choosing another one of his students as the Godaime", Danzo yelled making the Daimyo scared. He continued, "I recommend myself for the post of Godaime"

There was chatter in the room. Shikaku intervened, "Danzo-sama, you mentioned a good point about Sandaime's students. If I remember correctly the one who killed him was also the one you proposed for Yondaime's position. It was a bad choice. So, how can we trust your decision?"

"That was nine years ago and you're bringing that now?"

Fugaku spoke, "Then let's talk about what happened recently! Where were you and your Anbu when Kiri shinobis were attacking the village"

With his irritated expression, Danzo answered, "I was planning a strategy"

"Yes, until two Hokages were taken down."

Shikaku spoke, "Unlike you, Fugaku-san here was protecting the civilians and fought some higher-ranked shinobis from Kiri. I recommend him for the Hokage post"

Koharu spoke, "Minato even acknowledged Fugaku's contribution to the village. He also has leadership qualities as the leader of the police force"

"I recommend Fugaku too!", said Homura.

"Can't you see he is an Uchiha?", Danzo started making excuses.

"Yes he's an Uchiha, so what?", asked Shikaku. "The uchihas are a cursed clan. Remember what Madara Uchiha did!"

Fugaku spoke, "Now you're talking about something that happened generations ago. Are you contradicting yourself?"

Danzo couldn't counter with a reply and stayed silent. Daimyo after hearing everyone spoke, "As the Daimyo of the land of fire, I name Uchiha Fugaku as the fifth Hokage"

Outside the meeting room, Danzo was thinking to himself

'Why did the kotoamatsukami didn't work on the Daimyo? Fugaku must have done something'

He couldn't accept the fact that Fugaku was named the Hokage. He called his Anbu and ordered them to kill Fugaku.

One week later, the new Mizukage, Terumi Mei and the new Hokage, Uchiha Fugaku signed a peace treaty. Itachi became the leader of the police force. Saruto for his contribution during the attack was promoted directly to Jonin. His teammates' status was deemed classified. Fugaku continued to rule as Minato did which made some uchihas mad but they came around except Uchiha Yashiro. To him, the village must pay for how they treated his clan. He was expecting Fugaku to give control to his clan but Fugaku had changed. So, Yashiro continued to manipulate Sasuke. Saruto during this time wasn't doing that much but training.

Five years later, Saruto met Jiraiya for the first time. He asked him if he could train Naruto. "I am sorry! I am busy following a lead concerning Orochimaru"

"Don't worry about him! Just train this kid!"

"Why should I train him? What do I get in it?"

This version of Naruto doesn't use sexy Jutsu. So, is there a way to convince Jiraya?

Saruto sighed,

Saruto transformed into a brown-haired naked girl with a curvaceous figure. Blood spurted from his nose and then he inhaled just to scream,

"OKAY!!!", with a thumbs-up. Saruto turned back.

'Never thought I'd do this Jutsu here'

They both went to see Naruto who was training alone. "Naruto"

"Huh, Saruto-san!" He then turned to look at the man next to Saruto. "It's been a while Naruto!"

Naruto's eyes widened as he pointed his finger at him and screamed. "What is Ero-sennin doing here?"

"It's Gama-sennin, you brat!"

"You were watching the girls who were bathing when I was a kid. You're a pervert, ya know"

Jiraiya smacked Naruto on his head and said "You're still a kid"

While massaging his head, Naruto said, "When I graduate from the academy, I won't be a kid anymore. I'll officially become a ninja"

Saruto interrupted their conversation, "Can we focus on why we're here!"

"Yeah, that's right! Naruto, I am going to teach you how to use Kyubi's chakra"

"Wow, I can do that! That's awesome, ya know"

Jiraya was teaching Naruto. Saruto was watching the training from the side. Naruto sat on the ground and closed his eyes. He tried to steal some of Kyubi's chakra. Jiraya after watching Naruto walked up to Saruto and sat beside him. "I never got the chance to thank you for saving Minato and Kushina. I see them as my own kids"

"You're welcome. How is Naruto doing?"

"Without the beast's cooperation, he can't use its chakra with his current level"

"Do you think Kur…Kyubi will help him? He also gets something out of it right?"

"If Naruto depends too much on Kyubi's chakra, it will take control. So, Kyubi would lend him its chakra"

"Unlike other bijus, Kyubi hates humans more. I hope Naruto can change him"

"Do you think he is capable of doing something like that?"

"I'm sure of it. After all, he's the child of prophecy"

Jiraya's eyes widened as he was shocked. The student he was searching for all around the world is here in front of him. Jiraiya smiled. Saruto looked directly at Naruto as he closed his eyes. A sound of a falling water drop could be heard. Saruto opened his eyes.

{How did you get here?}

'Wow, this place is weirder than the others!'

{Stop ignoring me! I am the demon fox}

'No, you're Kurama'

{How did you know my name?}

'It's a long story. You won't get it anyway'

Kurama roared at Saruto, spraying the water around him.

'Okay, I just want to say this'

{Do you want to die?}

'Protect Naruto like you always did!

{I've never protected him}

'Yeah, I am not buying. You keep healing his wounds. You got attached to him while seeing him grow up'

{You hear me, once I get out of this place I'll kill you}

'See you around Kurama'

{You arrogant bastard}

Saruto opened his eyes and stood up and said, "I'll let you form your student. From now on he's your problem"

Saruto left the place.

Saruto was lying down on his bed looking at the ceiling. He was lost in thoughts and then there was a knock on the door. Saruto walked up to the door and opened it. There were Kushina and Mikoto. They seemed mad. "What are you two doing here?"

"Kushina told me you've been doing with her"

"Mikoto told me you've been doing with her"

With their hands on their hips, both women looked at Saruto for answers. "So, what do you want me to do then?", asked Saruto. Kushina chuckled as she shook her head. "Ask your little brother!" She pointed down at Saruto. Saruto tilted his head down to see his hard-on.

'Hey, let's go horny mode brother!'
