A God's Fury

The Knight's power suddenly exploded as Darkness radiated from his body. His sword shattered and was replaces by a sleek longsword of pure Darkness, except in the form of icy shards. The pressure that was being emitted from this guy was absolutely terrifying, but that only made my blood boil even more as I found myself forming the same sword in my free hand.

With Sol and my new nameless blade, I had a large smile on my face as I charged forward and danced around the Knight's strikes with precision. I reached his leg and unleashed a flurry of lightning fast slashes and stabs before disappearing and repeating this process several times. The Knight may be powerful, but he can't compare to my speed once I get serious.

"Devour..."

I felt my smile grow even larger as I sent Darkness through Sol, and Light through the unnamed blade of Darkness. The Knight had a murderous aura surrounding his body as Darkness exploded from his body. The ground underneath us began to crack and crumble away from the pressure of our power.

'-cifer...!'

I continued to pour Darkness and Light into my weapons as well as my body before charging forward and blocking the Knight's overhead slash. A loud bang resounded off the walls as our swords clashed. I noticed the Knight getting faster and stronger by the second, but I didn't care.

I was hungry.

I knocked the Knight's sword aside and chopped its hand off of its bony and gangrenous arm. Suddenly, a large tail smacked me in the side like a whip, sending me flying back into the air. I flipped and landed on my feet with a feral sneer on my face. A vein popped out of my forehead as I began to pour even more of my power into my body.

Two large, black-orange horns sprouted from my head and danced around like a fire as a long, black-orange tail, with a barbed end, began to slowly sprout from my lower back. I channeled Void energy through my body and found myself behind the Knight, almost like I had teleported.

I grinned and slashed out with both of my sword, drawing deep lines in the Knight's ridiculously hard skin. The Knight roared in pain and sent a clawed hand toward me, but it was slow and I was able to dodge it with ease. I moved around the arm and used it as leverage to jump up once more and aim a stab at the Knight's face, but it predicted this.

The Knight's mouth opened to reveal rows of razor sharp teeth as it began to gather a large amount of Darkness before shooting it out and hitting me square in the chest. It felt like a dozen Ogres had all jumped on top of me as I was sent crashing into a nearby wall.

"More...! We need more!! Devour!!"

"DEVOUR!!" I yelled out as my armor began to crack and shine with a dark light. I gnashed my teeth and freed myself before floating in the air with my arms out wide. A large ball of Light began to form in front of me before condensing down and hurtling toward the Knight. He responded to this by releasing his own ball of Darkness, and we were at a stalemate.

The voices in my head began to drown out all other noises and I started to laugh uncontrollably, almost like a maniac, when Leo appeared behind the Knight and formed a large ball of Solar energy before firing it down onto him.

Leo looked to me and yelled "GO!!" as he started to fall down to the ground, his face unnaturally pale and sickly. I felt my mind clear up and I was able to create a platform underneath his body to prevent him from getting injured before turning back to the Knight and pushing my ball of Light down onto him.

We struggled for a minute as I began to overpower him. He began to push back and attempt to gain his ground back, but I was already too far ahead. I pushed my body to its limits and drove my attack into his body, creating a massive explosion of Light.

After the dust had cleared, there was a large hole where the Knight was, but no sign of the Knight himself. Thinking that it was over, I lowered myself to the floor and collapsed backwards before taking my armor off and taking some time to catch my breath.

However, I was too naïve to think I had won with that amount of power.

The Knight was floating above me with his wings spread open and half of his body mangled and bloody. I quickly donned my armor, but a wave of pain enveloped my body and forced me down to my knees. The Knight sneered and said "I will make sure you understand the enemy you have made today. I will take everything from you, including your precious City, Guardian! Then, I shall relish the face of defeat that will be plastered upon your face as I devour your body!" before disappearing with a flap of his powerful wings.

Leo began to stir beside me before sitting up and holding his head with a pained expression. He saw me on my knees and quickly got up to help me. I had Sam supply me with a steady stream of Light so I could get myself and Leo up to where the rest of the Guardians were.

We floated up the long walls in silence until Leo eventually asked "So...are you the actual Lucifer Blake? If so, then what the hell as that power just now, it's nothing like the books described..." I smiled slightly and said "I don't even know myself. But yes, I am the only Lucifer Blake that I know of."

Leo chuckled and muttered "Wow, I never thought I would be able to meet you...this feels like a dream..." I ignored the boy's words and focused on keeping us afloat while not straining my body. We eventually reached the top of the large drop and saw a complete massacre, except it wasn't the Guardians that were massacred.

Hive bodies were mutilated and piled all around the hall with the two Knights laying dead next to Savathun. Zavala was talking to Wraith while Ikora was tending to some of the injured and Cayde...well Cayde was doing Cayde things.

We touched the ground and I immediately had to rely on Leo to keep myself steady. I was half dragged over to Zavala when a white blue suddenly crashed into him, sending me tumbling to the floor as well. I didn't even have to look to know that it was the Cathar girl. I guess she was fortunate that Ikora had arrived, since she was the one you wanted to look for when you had a Guardian inflicted with Lightless.

I looked up at the Sigbrand and Sigwulf, who were smiling like idiots as they extended their hands toward me. I took their hands and was able to stand on my own and watched as Leo was having his bones broken by his mother, sister, and Akina.

I shook my head at their display and turned to Zavala, my face suddenly turning grave as I said "Zavala, we have a problem. That big ass Knight isn't dead, and he said he was heading to the City..." Zavala's eyes widened in shock as his mouth opened and closed several times before he yelled "Everyone, get back to the City, NOW!!"

'Sam, make sure you get Leo and his family into my ship, I have my own. I'll see you there bud. And, I'm sorry...for leaving you...' I sighed and forced Sam out of my body before he could respond before fading away and appearing in my ship.

I started the engines and began to take off when a large shadow enveloped my ship. Domenth was in his Dragon form and he flew in front of me before saying "Master! Open the ship so I can get in! I shall help you defeat your enemy!" With no better option, I opened the side door to my ship and watched as Domenth shrunk down to an adorable little dragon and flew in the door before transforming into his Human form.

I glanced back at him and said "I think you would make a nice little pet for children with that cute little form you just used..." with a sly smirk. Domenth had a wry smile on his face as he said "Master, although I will not harm you and will serve you forever, I can not bring myself to do something so embarrassing."

I shook my head and immediately took off at light speed toward Earth. I focused on replenishing my depleted Light while drawing Darkness from the space around me and outside of my ship. I had to get to Earth before that bastard did.

I remember my promise to protect the civilians of the City no matter what, and I remember saying that I would find the power to do so. But I got too cocky and thought that I was strong enough and, as I broke through Earth's atmosphere and looked at the City from above.

I realized just how weak I really was.

I was overcome with a sense of anger and guilt as I quickly landed my ship and hopped onto the transformed Domenth's back. Domenth sped toward the City with powerful beats of his wings. We landed inside and I immediately ran over to where the refugees were housed.

What I saw was from a nightmare.

There were bloody, mangled, and half-eaten corpses everywhere. I ran over to Mac's house and saw that a good chunk of its side was blown to bits. A cold sweat began to form on my brow as I ran over and knocked the door down. "MAC! SAYURI! AMELIA!" I yelled their names over and over, but heard no response.

I began to fear for the worse as I frantically searched around for any signs of life. Then I came across a body. It was severely mangled and bloody, but a single ring on its finger told me exactly who it was. I felt my eyes mist over as I collapsed and reached out a shaky hand toward the body while muttering "No...why did this happen...DAMNIT!!" I yelled out as a horrible sense of guilt and sadness overwhelmed my mind.

"Mac...why did you have to die? You...I thought of you like a father...you've done so much for me, and I returned your kindness by abandoning you...I'm so sorry..." I took his ring from his finger and kept in my inventory to remember him goodbye before standing and wiping the tears from my face.

I clenched my fists and walked out of the house and made sure to take a good look at all of the bodies strewn around on the ground. These faces would haunt me for the rest of my life, and I accepted that. Just then, a familiar scream echoed out and my eyes widened in horror. I turned and jumped on top of the nearest house before jumping around to try and find where the voice had come from.

And I wish I wouldn't have.

I had arrived just in time to see the Knight rip through Amelia and Sayuri with a sadistic smile on his face. At that moment, I felt nothing. Only the feeling of darkness and pain were present. Fresh tears streamed down my cheeks and I clenched my fist and unleashed a yell of pure sorrow and regret.

The air around me began to distort as fire and lightning began to swirl around me. I felt the Darkness fill my body as the Light covered it. I screamed and screamed, but I couldn't rid myself of this growing pain.

It felt like my heart had shattered, and it was all because of that Knight...
