Chapter 6

(Unknown POV): I'm gonna kill her once I see her! Killing her instantly would be a dream come true. Oh wait, I could have done that already if those stupid flea bags didn't get in the way. To be honest Echo wasn't even supposed to be there. If he wasn't there the other flea bag wouldn't have been there. Leaving the girl unprotected, but no they just had to screw it up! Leaving me to clean their messes. It's always me stuck with the damn dirty work. No one else gets their hands dirty but me!

But no, I can't complain. I'm third in command where I'm from; the flea bag is the second command. You don't even want to know who's in charge. All I can say is he takes his job seriously, he hates stalling, and he never beats around the bush. Always straight to the point, that's what I admire about him.

"Where's Lexia?" A feminine voice says down the hall.

I'm so glad the master gave me extreme levels of power. I've distracted the school. So this should be a piece of cake! I mean, how hard is it to kill a fourteen year old vampire, who hasn't even tapped into her abilities?

Lexia's POV: Suddenly I was outside in the woods, these woods looked quite similar to the woods in my dream.

"Greetings Lexia, must I remind you that we're on a time limit here?" A rather animal-like voice says behind me.

I spun around and was faced with a white Cadejo named Aura, only he wasn't what he seemed in my dream. For an innocent creature he was certainly scary looking.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You're in danger right now, and we need to leave."

"What about my friends?" I asked.

"They'll be dead soon." Aura says.

"Echo, a minotaur, a hellhound, a manticore, and a hydra are all on the way." He says as he starts walking away from the school.

"Manticore? Hydra?" I don't know what those are?

"Those are sinful, evil creatures." He paused.

"What are they? You still haven't answered my question." I pushed.

"A manticore is a hybrid-like creature. It's a creature with the looks of a lion, but it has the tail of a scorpion, and bat-like wings. And well, a hydra is a sort of reptilian creature. With three to six snake-like heads. The body of a lizard, and the tail of a snake. Both of these mythological creatures are the side of two school buses. They aren't here yet; so we need to get you to safety." Aura says.

"One thing you forgot about me. I stay and protect what's mine. I don't turn tail and run like a chicken!" Then I turned around towards the school and ran.

"LEXIA!" Aura yelled.

Jax's POV: Great, we just barely escaped a minotaur, only to run right into the claws of a hellhound. We were backed into a corner; When Elias made a run for one of the cabinets in the kitchen. All the girls were here. But more hellhounds seemed to appear outta the shadows. Elias had managed to trap the hounds, but that meant trapping us in a circle of salt. They circled us as a pack. We could smell their desire to have us in their jaws. The largest hound weaved his way in and around the other hounds, till it was circling us and it snarled.

One of the girls ended up jumping into Elias's arms, he stared at me for some help. And I for some reason had the urge to chuckle! The other girls seemed to smoosh up against Elias. Leaving him completely smothered; he stood frozen not knowing what to do. I shook my head for what felt like the millionth time, and he jerked his head in the hounds direction. And then to the girl's direction, finally he jerked it to the large storage closet. I rolled my eyes and glared at him, our disagreement was interrupted by the largest hound. My guess was that he was probably the leader.

"Female, Black hair, Sapphire blue eyes, and goes by the name Lexia Whitetip." The hound said.

"What about her?" One female asked in a snarky voice.

"Shut your mouth Lena." Elias snarled, his eyes started to swirl with fury and protectiveness .

"Where is she?"

"Hell, if I knew she probably ran away-" Lena was cut off by an all too familiar voice.

I was shocked as Nicole stepped up between the hounds as if they were Golden retrievers. She even scratched a few behind their ears, and they leaned into her touch.

"My fellow friend, Lexia is on her way back, and from my sources a Cadejo by the name of Aura is not with her. Meaning she's alone. But fear not, this will be child's play." Nicole says.

Then it clicked, my girlfriends joined the darkside now. She's Hell's play toy now. And there's nothing I can do to fix it. Then it started to piece together, no wonder she was always so distant lately. Nicole's been planning this, I shook my head in disbelief.

"Nicole-" she cut me off.

"Shut up!"

There was a roar out in the distance, and suddenly Nicole was back in action. She raised her arm and Aviva floated up in the air. Just as I was about to take a step to help Nicole held her other hand towards me and she made me move the circle of salt with my foot. She was controlling me.

"What's going on?" I say

Using my eyes, since my body was under Nicole's control. I looked at Elias and caught his attention, then I looked at the leftover females and I flickered my eyes back to the clozet. He

immediately understood and pushed the girls in the clozet. Once the last girl was in the closet he slammed it shut and locked it. But it seemed like he missed one, because Bree was suddenly beside me and was holding a kitchen knife. I pushed her behind me, but that obviously didn't seem to go well.

"Uh, Uh. I don't think so!" Nicole chuckled.

Screams and shouts of all sorts filled the night. One objective was clear for both sides, Lexia. Only we didn't know where she was, only the Cadejo's did. Speaking of the Cadejo's, one of them decides to make an appearance. It was none other than Echo, and he walked up beside Nicole. He rubbed his huge head against her leg.

"Your highness." He greeted her.

"Echo!" She greeted back gleefully.

"Nicole, what have you done?" Elias says.

"Explored a better path, better than this damned place!" She sneered.

"What about your bestie, Lexia?" I tried to reason with her.

"Ex-Best Friend." She corrected matter-of-factly.

"Since when?" I pushed on.

"Since. None. Of. Your. Business." She spat.

"I thought-"

"No. ZIP IT!" She did the zipper across her lips motion and imitated throwing the key away.

Since when did she have an attitude like this? I didn't get time to react because she tightened her grip on Aviva's throat causing her to cough and gasp for air. I swear she started turning purple. Grey bursted into the room and his eyes go wide, before he comes barreling through the Hell hounds and knocking Nicole over, which in turns releases Aviva from her grip. Only it didn't last long. Nicole quickly recovered and ended up slamming Grey into a wall, knocking him unconscious. Then she resumed her work with Aviva. She squeezed Aviva's neck until she could squeeze no more causing Aviva's head to go 'POP'. Blood spewed everywhere, and we began to sob, Aviva was gone and won't be coming back.

"You wanted me?" Says a familiar voice.

Lexia's POV: "You wanted me?"

Hellhounds, Echo, and a female stood in my friend's path to freedom. So I pulled out my favorite toy. The Double Bladed Reaper Staff. Now this puppy packed quite the swing. Not too heavy, not too light. With one swing I took out a good chunk of the hounds, not yet half but it's a good start. When I finished off with all the hounds, the girl and Echo were nowhere to be seen. So I made my way over to Grey and picked him up, tossing him over my shoulder. I turned to my other friends.

"Are you coming, or are you waiting for an invitation?" Then I walked outta the room with them in tow.

The building seemed to stop catching fire. It seems that when the Cadejo left it took the flames. Good thing the flames never burnt anything. Which is, I guess, kinda cool! Aura walked around the corner and gave me a wolfy grin when seeing me.

"Seems they were only bluffing, all I know is there's a minotaur around here somewhere. I wish I could help but you don't need any." He glanced at my friends and disappeared into thin air.

I rolled my eyes and made my way to mine and—My room. And I placed Grey on the spare bed. Good thing he was only unconscious. Elias, Jax, and Bree all set up sleeping bags and we got ready for bed. Then we all said good night, feeling the thrill of tonight take a toll on us. No nightmares woke me that night, it was only a dark and empty abyss. I finally slept. If I did have a dream; I won't remember it tomorrow. The only thing I will remember is 'his' voice, but who knows, because I don't. I mean never met the guy, so how bad could he be?

I woke up early and got dressed in the training uniform. I made my way to the school mistress's office; and I was about to knock when she spoke.

"Come in, Lexia!"

I went in and shut the door behind me, making my way to sit down. I noticed that Lisa looked quite tired.

"Rough night." Though it wasn't a question Lisa was too tired to notice.

"You have no idea!" She said around a yawn.

" I wanted to chat, but seeing you in this condition, you don't seem to be in the right state of mind." I say .

"Oh nonsense, go ahead. I may look tired but I've been worse-"

"Tired! That's an understatement, you look exhausted." I exclaimed.

"The child's correct Lisa, you should leave one of the teachers in charge while you get some rest. It's only a one day break!" An unfamiliar voice says.

Perched on a shelf near a window was a Kitsune, its fox-like features were so obvious, I would have mistaken it for a normal fox. If it weren't for its tails. Since when was there a Kitsune here? I wonder what its power is? This Kitsune was a black fox with white on its chest, and belly.

"Phoenix is the name, my friend." He spoke again.

"Hey Phoenix, I'm-" He cut me off.

"Lexia and Lisa!"

Lisa and I exchange glances, we both don't know this Kitsune. Honestly Kitsunes aren't supposed to be anywhere near this area. Kitunes prefer rocks, caves and mountains. But we are surrounded by trees and forests filled with many mythical creatures. Kitsunes not being one of them, not to mention that there are no mountains or rocks anywhere around here. Now I'm happy I took an interest in mythical and supernatural creatures as a kid.

"What are you doing here?" I shot before I could think of my attitude.

The Kitsune began to laugh, which looked quite strange.

"River sent me." He says.

"River?"

"My master, he is also the head base of all schools." The Kitsune says, puffing out his chest.

"Wait, River as in. Ranger River?" I blurted.

The kitsune grinned at me.

"Why'd he send you here?" Lisa asked.

"He got the information from Lexia, and sent me and others to look out for her and the school. He even sent a guard to personally guard this girl. Seeing as we don't fully understand her full potential." He says.

I have no clue what they're talking about?

"Lexia, can you give us a minute." Lisa says.

I nodded and left the room for a drink. I made myself a nice cup of peppermint tea and did something I haven't been able to do in school yet, I explored. And by explore, I mean I ended up getting lost in the library, and surrounding myself with endless bookshelves!
