Chapter 19

"Long time no see, how are you, or not even greeting? Is this how you treat your cousin? Cousin.." he said coming towards us and hugging Adonis. Adonis just stood there still.

"Someone's not happy. Did you get up from the wrong side of the bed " He murmured after walking past Adonis. He came and stood before me taking my hand and kissing lightly on them" hello, beautiful…I'm Nolan. Nice to meet you." I stared at him dumbstruck.

"Hi" I smiled shyly when I was pulled out of my reverie.

Adonis sighed and turned towards us " angel this is my cousin, Nolan." Then he looked at Nolan "did dad send you?"

" can't say he requested. He did say about you going on a quest and all. But I thought a little fun won't hurt." He gave a big goofy smile.

Adonis raised one eyebrow at him, calculating whether what he is saying is the truth or is he bluffing.

" you, get in the car," he told me walking forward without glancing a look at us.

Before I could open the back door of the car Nolan beat me. " please that seat is reserved. Why don't you sit here" he being a gentleman opened the passenger door and motioned me to get in.

I shot a glance at Adonis who was watching our little encounter and nodded his head, yes to get in. So I did and Nolan even closed the door for me. I looked at him confused.

I heard Adonis chuckle when he got inside the car and sat beside me in the driver's seat " he's too old. Some habits won't change." Nolan scoffed when he heard Adonis say.

"How old is he?" I wondered.

" he was born even before the earth was built I guess," he said. "You can call him uncle if you want."

" very funny" he laughed "beautiful, I have seen Adonis in a diaper like I was there when he was born." Nolan said while wiping a fake tear "he peed on me when-"

"Fine, fine... it's getting boring" Adonis said

"What no… you are just embarrassed in front of your lady love" Nolan replied

"Shut up!" Adonis snapped. "Do you want me to throw you out of the car?"

Nolan raised his hands in surrender smirking. He said Lady love and Adonis didn't say anything which gave me butterflies in my tummy and a smile fought its way onto my face.

After 4 long hours, we reached the entrance of the woods by now the morning sun was shining brightly. We entered the woods with tall trees lining either side of the road. The place looked creepy for an outsider like me who is visiting here for the first time. But nis looked relaxed, he drove through here like he have been here many times before. I glanced behind to see Nolan who was asleep with closed eyes and placing his head on the seat behind him.

"I'm trying to catch some sleep," Nolan said as if he could see my stare.

In an instant, I looked to the front slightly embarrassed that he knew I was watching him. Adonis scoffed "no, you are pretending, which vamp would sleep?"

My eyes widened at his choice of words, vamp? Now that being said he had a very fair complexion and bright red lips… Adonis looked at me and smirked "he's just trying to eavesdrop"

I laughed "at what?"

"Anything… why are you guys not talking?" He asked, "was it a waste that I sat in the back seat?"

"Ohh… ok," I said

"Of course, I thought I could watch some live PDA moments or sometimes hot conversation. Instead, I get a dull boring journey."

Adonis glared at him through the mirror

"What, I was deprived of entertainment recently" he yawned "at least let me try to sleep.. I'll just dream something hot"

I looked at Adonis who just rolled his eyes at Nolan.

We reached a small clearing which lead to an old house. We parked and got out of the car, Nolan refused to come saying he needs to sleep. So we left him there and walked to the gate.

"He won't come"

"Why?"

"Just not a big fan of some werewolves".

"So, he's a vampire? Why is he your cousin then? Aren't you a werewolf?" I asked.

"Yes, My father is the vampire king and my mother is a pure werewolf." Adonis explained ." so, the babies born to such mating will be either one among them."

"Ok.." I let that digest...

As we got closer there were two wolves on the lawn. they got up and came towards us and shifted right in front of us after they smelled us. I quickly averted my eyes as there stood two stark naked males.

"You can look now," one of them said. They now wore pants and bowed their head. Adonis nodded his head and hugged them.

"How is everyone doing here"

"Good." one of them answered smiling. "Were we expecting you?" Another one asked.

"No, sawyer… it was an emergency. Where is she?" Adonis walked towards the house asking me to follow him.

"She's in the kitchen" Sawyer replied.

"Hello, I'm sawyer and this is Joan," he said.

"Hi, I'm Angel," I said which caused both of their eyes to widen for a second and then they smiled.

"Please, this way," Joan said while Adonis stood at the door waiting for me. When I reached next to him, he kept a small hand behind my back. When we entered there were a few people in the room, at once they all just stopped whatever they were doing and bowed at Adonis, some looking confused at our unexpected visit.

Coming close to the kitchen we could hear laughs and talks. But as soon as we entered they all stilled. Adonis left my side and walked towards a lady whose back was visible to us. She had a kettle in her hand and stood just like that. He went and stood behind her "grandma"
