"Where will Susan go?" Emily asked Carl. "Could she be hiding at her friend's house?"
By this time, the light of day was visible in the sky, and after a night of searching, they still found no sign of Susan. They had even mobilized guards to help them, but Susan seemed to be nowhere to be found.
"Susan doesn't have any friends," Carl said worriedly. "I looked at the surveillance footage at the various exits of the pack and found no trace of her. Perhaps she left on the mountain road. I guess she probably went to her uncle's."
"Call her uncle and tell him to get in touch with me as soon as he sees Susan," Emily said.
"Luna, Susan's uncle's pack is far from here. And if she did take the mountain road to find her uncle, I'm afraid she might be in danger. You know there are other shape-shifting creatures lurking around the border. Susan isn't of age yet, and she couldn't even defeat Dog Slaves."
