Alpha's Rebellious Mate

“Who are you? What are you doing here?” Alpha Rofus asked in a cold and serious tone, staring at the young woman in front of him. A young woman who caused his heart to race instantly. “Stay away from me! Please, I am scared of you!” She was sobbing already. “Calm down. I won’t hurt you,” he said before disappearing into the woods. “She is our mate...” his inner wolf whispered in his mind, something he was not expecting to happen. She? A mate? But she’s a human! Seeking solace from her mother’s hasty decision to remarry shortly after her father’s death, Amelia flees into the forbidden Forester Woods, unaware that her impulsive escape will lead to an encounter with Rofusio Melbore, the newly appointed Alpha of the Blazepaw Guardians pack. As Rofus gazes upon Amelia, an unfamiliar sensation surges within him, awakening his inner wolf. Overcome by an undeniable connection, he instinctively reaches out to comfort her, wiping away her tears. Startled and fearful, Amelia pushes him away, unable to comprehend the strange pull between them. Realizing that Amelia is his destined mate, Rofus is hesitant to disclose his true nature as a wolf since she is a human. Despite the obstacles and their initial fear, love blossoms between them. But will they overcome their insecurities and accept each other for who they really are? Will this fragile feeling last when they find out the truth about Amelia’s biological father? Or will Rofus lose his rebellious mate forever?

Help me!

AMELIA POV

The white werewolf approached me after hearing what I had to say because he wanted a better look at me. I guess. He sniffed as if finding some scent in me. I can see how he genuinely smiles after a few seconds. I almost jumped on my feet in surprise as he held me once again and made another attempt to embrace me. I was immediately overpowered by my unexplainable feelings.

"Hey, don't come near me!"

I point my hand at him to tell him that he should stop walking. He did not listen. My smile vanished when I realized the werewolf was only millimeters away from me, and a newly discovered fear immediately replaced it in both of my eyes. I wanted to run and immediately get out of this forest, but I appeared to have firmly planted my feet on the ground and could not take even the tiniest steps forward. I was almost brought to my knees and looked as if all my strength had left me when I thought that running away wouldn't help me. I feel more nervous that I stayed here for so long after discovering that I was the only person here with him.

Is it my end?

Will he eat me alive?

I was urged to call my mother, but I only restrained myself because I understood that doing so at that time would be pointless. Even if I pleaded with her and begged her to help me, she would not hear my voice because our home was so far away in the forest. In addition to this, I was aware that my mother had not followed me earlier when I ran away from home because of a misunderstanding.

"What are you doing?" I ask the creature with gritted teeth not to show that I am tense. "Stay away from me! P-Please, I am scared of you!" I yell to drive him away.

He let out a growl, which made me feel even more threatened and terrified. I had the feeling that my throat had become parched, much like the leaves on the trees, which continue to fall due to the blowing breeze. I retreated a few paces while keeping my gaze fixed on the wolf in front of me, who, judging by the expression on his face, was still chuckling and giggling. The fear of being unable to predict how such events would make me feel. I was still confused about why the wolf was approaching me in such close proximity. Once more, he let out a horrific howl that appeared to be glad for him, but for me, it brought a weird panic that led me to lose my balance and almost fall if the wolf hadn't swiftly gripped my waist.

What is he doing now?!

He continued to give a roar that looked happy for him. I forced myself to shut my eyes immediately as I waited for the wolves to snap their jaws around my neck and put an end to my life. I know, it was my fate. But to my surprise, he used his husky voice to mutter something that I had not expected.

"Hold on, be still, baby, and don't worry—I won't hurt you. Don't get scared at me. I won't bite you." He was now back in his human form; I don't even know his name. He was reassuring me that I was now safe, but I couldn't trust him. I won't trust him!

"Go away!"

That was my reaction. Of course! Who would not be scared of him if they knew who he was? He is a fucking wolf, for Pete's sake!

Beads of sweat on my forehead continued to flow down to my neck. It was now more evident, even though I tried my best to hide it. My beating heart is now also unpredictable, as if it were beating in excitement or hatred. I can feel my whole body becoming numb and anxious, as I can sense that my face turned white like a blank sheet of paper. I knew it very well.

Shit! Hang in there, Amelia! You shouldn't collapse. Hold yourself still and now be brave!

I had no idea in my head that seeing a wolf in its natural habitat would be an amazing experience; yet, when the creature was actually here and in front of me, I was at a loss for words and didn't know what to do.

When I felt his hot breath near my numbing ears, it seemed that I was passing out. I can clearly hear his heavy breathing. At that time, I questioned whether or not other animals, such as wolves, were capable of human-like communications like reading.

"Shoo! Stay away from me! I beg you, don't touch me!" I made an effort to shove him. I slightly opened my eyes and saw him shifting back and forth between human and wolf, which made me more horrified. When I opened my eyes again, the human form of the white wolf with gray eyes had already regained his senses and transformed back into his human shape. Even though he is a human now, I am still trembling and scared of him. "Please help me! Is there anybody here that can hear what I'm saying? Help me, would you? Help me! I am in danger!" I continued to scream despite the fact that my voice was wavering and my body was shivering as if I were about to pass away at any moment.

My scream shattered the stillness of the woods, and it could hear its echoes reverberating all the way into the undergrowth. Due to the fact that we were by ourselves in the Forester Wood at that time, no one was able to hear me screaming. It simply dissipated and vanished along with the wind after it had resonated for a moment. Mix in the forceful splash of the falls' water and soon be enveloped by the sound of the insects in that vicinity. My cries and screams for help went unheard by anybody.

"Calm down. I won't hurt you—"

He holds up his hands while giving me a safe distance. I am so scared of him now!

"I leave now; don't be scared."

And before I could utter a single word, he vanished in front of me, maybe because he was too ashamed and also terrified. I still could not move my body due to the aftershock, although I did manage to breathe. I looked around but saw no one, not even the silhouette of an unfamiliar man.

Is it a dream?

Am I only hallucinating?

What happen?

I am sure I was not alone earlier. I saw him!

My facial expressions are mixed with a variety of emotions. It was almost as if I had been possessed and transported to a place I had not been expecting to see at that moment. I paused for a while to take some deep breaths, then without a word, I launched into full speed, fleeing the woods as soon as possible. My toes and my feet were almost entirely white, and I could tell they were not touching the ground. I was aware that the events transpiring around me were perilously close to claiming my life; hence, I could not remain here any longer, regardless of the fact that, as I asserted, there was no one else there. I must leave the place as fast as I can. My vibrant heart is so close to exploding through my chest, and I would have a heart attack if I didn't calm myself.
