I think I might melt down if Barry comes right here and then kisses me passionately right when I have my family members around me, Including my dad.

He drew near and flashed my parents a warm smile.

I breathed out. And I thought he was gonna kiss me, he was just gonna greet my parents. I didn't know if I should be relieved or disappointed.

"Barry" My mum called, careful not to use her loud, energetic voice. "I am so sorry about your dad"

Barry gave a nod, still smiling.

"I wish him a speedy recovery" My dad said to him in his deep voice.

"Thank you sir" Barry replied and his eyes slid to mine. My heart started to beat fast like this was the first eye contact we were making.

"Hey" His voice was calm, lacking the mischief that echoes in it and I miss that tone. It was what pulled me to him in thr first place.

"Hi" I answered with the same calm tone. "How are you?" I asked, looking into the depth of his eyes.
