Chapter 15

"This tastes really great," I said with a mouth full of pizza slices.

"I know right?" Kate smiled then her eyes went over to the book I was previously reading that was placed on the bed where I had kept it.

Picking it up "The Hybrid's Daughter-Red Moon The Curse," she uttered the book title loud enough for me to hear before. "What's this?" She asked.

"A book obviously," I replied, a bit sarcastic.

"I know it's a book, what I would like to know is when did you start reading books like this? Wolves and all that?" Kate said looking at me suspiciously like I have committed a sin or something.

"Huh? I read books like this, don't I?"

"No you don't," She said and that wasn't a lie but I couldn't tell her the main reason I decided to start reading supernatural books. She would say I am going crazy.

"Well there is always a first time for everything and I think I will continue reading books like this because they are damn interesting," I said and Kate stared at me for a while.

"Well it's your choice, just don't start telling me creepy stories about werewolves and vampires nightmares unless I will burn all damn books." She said and I rolled my eyes slightly.

"What do you think I am, 5?? I can't get scared from the letters in the pages of a book plus the real world is a lot scarier than any content that can be found in a book." I said and at that moment I thought about what nearly happened to me some days back.

Almost getting raped is like a scene straight out from a horror movie, it's by far the most scariest thing I could think of and I am glad I was able to come out of it with only a bitter taste in my mouth and not an actual emotional scar that would last forever...

"So tell me, have you heard from your superman?" Kate's words got me out of my thoughts.

"No, I don't think I will be seeing him again," I said trying to hide the sadness away but my voice betrayed me. It was all laced with sadness.

"And why do you say so?" She asked and I don't know why but that question seemed to anger me.

"Cause that's just it!" My words came out in a shout.

"Hey calm down, I am just asking." Kate was a bit shocked by my reaction and so was I.

"Sorry, it's just that I don't have any means of reaching him and it's kinda frustrating," I said softly this time around.

"He saved my life and dignity but I don't even know his name." I further added and the realization that I don't know his name and never will was more painful than I knew it was and I found my head tilting downwards in complete sadness.

Kate stood up from where she sat and came to sit close to me.

"What if I tell you we can find him?"

She said in a voice reflecting belief and hope and I took my face up to her with eyes also dancing with hope and sheer excitement that I would see my handsome blue-eyed hero again....

"Hmmm," Damon breathed in, trying to calm himself down.

He had just been chased out of his apartment by a guy he really didn't like that much and that's upsetting to him which is something very rare since he would have ripped the person or thing limb by limb that would dare get him pissed but this case is different because even if he didn't like the person in question Damon had learnt to tolerate his presence over the years and although killing him would be a lot refreshing to Damon it will bring about lots of other complications, complications Damon had no time nor patience dealing with so it's best to leave the idiot alive..for now that is. Standing outside the hotel building Damon watched as the people walked passed in single and in pairs. Some were holding hands while some were even kissing as they walked by but there were others who walked alone with hands tucked in.

Damon didn't find the view worthwhile so he left, walking away and since he obviously had no place he wanted to go he decided to just tour the city of Lake Town and he recon by the time he is done with his tour his home invader would have been done having fun with the girls and he can have a quiet time all by himself in his apartment. During his tour around the city Damon came to find out that LakeTown is a lot bigger than it seems with lots of tourists like building and structures but he also came across other sets of night walkers different from the ones he saw at the bar the other day, they were at strategic locations of streets and alleys away from the street lights and other sources of illumination. Some of them were with their victims to be- ignorant, pretty young ladies. Damon knew the fate that awaited those girls, each time he walked by a street or alley and found one of them talking or having an entanglement with a night walker, he knew death awaits everyone of them but he simply just walked away and acted like he saw nothing. It seems the town was dominated by vampires but it's quite strange as Damon could pick the scent, although faint, of the night walkers' mortal enemies but why wasn't he seeing any of them?

Damon could see the curious look in the vampire eyes when they saw him walk by, it was like they were studying him but he didn't give them much time to assess who and what he was. Their best guess would be a moon creature but what moon creature is brave or stupid enough to walk at night in a town filled with blood suckers? For some reason best known to them the vampires didn't make any move to find out they just watched Damon walk away. The unbothered Damon continued his tour till he got to forest divided road which has no sign of life as there were no buildings nor structure, just a long bent road in the middle of two thick forests. This ought to be where Damon ended his tour but something got him walking further down the path it was the faint scent of the night walkers' mortal enemy, it had become stronger in this region and maybe Damon was curious to find one or he simply was just out to look for trouble, one can never be too sure with a character like Damon…

Like ten minutes into his journey through the forest path and the scent had become a lot stronger like one or even a pack was close by and just then out of nowhere a brown big wolf jumped out of the forest, standing face to face with Damon. The eyes of the creature were fierce and deadly. Golden of color- the eyes of a killer. Its teeth were extending out of his mouth though it was barely opened. That was a clear act of aggression, probably trying to get Damon scared but Damon was calmer than the night itself, his ocean blue eyes reflecting no fear at all. He just stood watching.

There was a low sneer and growl from the huge, majestical creature aimed towards Damon and it slowly started advancing to him in a circular path, almost like it was stalking its prey even at this point there was no show of stress or anxiety on Damon's part he just stood where he was. The wolf came close enough to Damon that it's whiskers were rubbing against Damon's trousers and even up to that point Damon was calm even though it seemed he was in great risk of sustaining a very painful bite from the powerful and dangerous beast...but then again maybe Damon didn't consider it to be powerful or dangerous enough to feel threatened or concerned by it however instead of biting Damon the beast started sniffing him, it appears the creature was also curious to know what sort of being Damon was and after some length seconds of close sniffing and inspection the wolf backed away and it's sounds towards Damon became less frightful not that they were frightful to Damon at the first place.

Standing in front of Damon the large frightful beast started transforming from its furry-like self to a creature of skin and flesh and when the transformation process was over... standing before Damon was a tall pretty, naked lady with long hair and hazel, green eyes like marble. Her hair was so long they covered the nipples of her breasts but the shape and rest of her boobs were clearly seen.

"Who are you?" The lady asked with her hazel eyes fixed on Damon's face.

"I am Damon," Damon replied, his eyes fixed on her pretty face too though there were other things in her body that were a lot more tempting to gaze upon but there was no lust or desire in Damon's eyes.
