“Is there a party tonight?” Car asked.
Ryan shook his head. “Tomorrow, at Jelly’s. You missed a boring one last night. Everyone was just standing around waiting for you two to show up.”
“Are we the entertainment of the week?” Car asked.
“Well, Chris is. We just fade back into the woodwork, next to her,” Wilson laughed.
“People can’t wait to see what she’ll be wearing next.”
“You should wear what you have on,” Wilson smiled. “That will floor them.”
Car laughed.
“Get your bathing suits,” Ryan said. “We’ll wait.”

We went over to Ladera with them. I’d worn my bathing suit under the shorts and halter. The only thing that showed was the string across my back, holding the bathing suit top on.
Car went into Ryan’s suite to change but I walked out to the pool. There weren’t as many people there today.
I’d decided that I didn’t care what people thought. My sole concern was Car. If this pleased her, I’d accomplished my mission.
