The whole pack was busy running op and down to get things set for Matteo's birthday. The party began at 6pm. Some other neighboring packs were present. The party was a blast while Skylar was tucked at the end quiet in a corner where no one could notice her. "Hey there angel " Skylar was startled by this voice and when she looked up,she met a pair of magnetic gray eyes that held so much authority, 'he must be an alpha' Skylar thought "take a picture it'll last longer"

"I'm sorry " Skylar muttered "there's no need for that princess " 'princess' no one has ever called her that except for her parents

"What's your name beautiful" " Skylar and yours" "Alejandro and you have a beautiful name it fits you perfectly" "you're Spanish right" Skylar asked "yes" he answered "I've always wanted to learn Spanish"

Alejandro and Skylar were talking for sometime and Skylar was well acquainted with him,she got to know that he's the alpha of the midnight pack and he's parents are alive, and everyone knows him as the ruthless alpha king but she hasn't seen that side of him. Skylar wondered if this alpha could be her mate. "Ok everyone the time we've all been waiting for is finally here. Soon to be Alpha Matteo has smelled his mate he is now going to search for her." Richard Matteo's father announced. It was then that Skylar caught a sweet scent and knew her mate was near 'mate mate 'her wolf chanted in her head. Until she came to a halt before Matteo as they bore their eyes into each other's souls

"You can't be my mate you pathetic thing.I Alpha Matteo James reject you Skylar Black as my mate" he said it so loud for everyone to hear. Skylar's wolf whimpered in pain while Matteo's wolf was cursing him 'you stupid human she's our mate' Matteo blocked his wolf. Skylar couldn't hold back the tears any longer and ran, shifted into her wolf form. She crossed the pack boundary and left to where no one heard from her again.
