Ambushed!

"Warning warning hostile anomalies nearby..." thanks for the warning Cahli. I would have walked straight into them without Cahli's guidance. I headed to the lab to wake up Jamie, who was clearly still sleeping. "Hey! Snorlax, rise and shine." I kicked Jamie off his bed. "What was that for?" he responded. "We've got a problem. Those purple creatures are loose in town." "Your shitting me?!" Jamie is clearly furious. This is quite the problem we've found ourselves in. Do we try to gain more tasty tuna sandwiches or starve to death., free of charge, of course. Clearly the outcome seems predictable. "we've got better equipment. I'd say we crush those scum.!" I yelled like an army general boosting his soldiers' morale. Before heading into battle. "Let's obliterate them off the face of the Earth! Jamie cackled. We pack our tuna sandwiches and headed straight into the danger zone. After walking past some trees, we can see the storefront." Danger! Danger! Two anomalies spotted. "Cahli informed us. We take out our pistol. Mine glows blue with a purple outline to it . While Jamie's has a different colour, glowing yellow with a pink outline. It felt like popping a balloon. I expected more of a resistance. Guess Jamie and I have luck on our side. Blood poured out of the two purple creatures. As there bodies twitches. Kind of creepy. We press on towards the store. We stare at someone in the store. Jamie and I looked at each other than at the store's window, as a purple creature takes a bite of the cashier's neck. The cashier's body expands than her eyes started rolling back although we barely can see., tentacles burst from the eyes and mouth wiggling like a worm. Her stomach expands. It's over for her. One thing caught my eye though, why only the neck? What about the legs? No matter at least they don't bite any other locations on the human body. "I'm getting paranoid, almost like I feel them behind us. Jason, we need to press on." Jamie said. We're almost at the store. Suddenly, four purple creatures were in our vision, just asking for death. We quickly disposed of three, while the last remaining one turned in our direction. Giving me and Jamie a minor heart attack." Now, that was spooky" Jamie laughed it off. "no kidding. Three seems to be the max before they notice." I pant. I feel my body running on adrenaline. "time to call it a day. I can see six purple creatures in the store. We could pick them off. Like three tomorrow and another three the day after. Although our food supplies might perish tomorrow. Plus a recharge would do us some good." I also need to thank Cahli for the assist. We could have been in grave danger. If Cahli didn't communicate with us. I'm pretty sure Shinra supported Jamie as well. As he kept looking at his pistol. If anyone else witnessed me or Jamie communicating with a pistol, they'll assume we're insane. As we were walking back to the lab.. "Cahli you've been a big help today, thank you" in which her response was "Oh, no need to thank me. I support my companion's." to be totally honest I didn't expect her to say anything for some reason. I smiled at my new companion, but I remember that she killed Luna. It will definitely take awhile to overcome this barrier. This former purple creature lost her memories, is it technically the same person or formed by the ore itself, somehow. I want answers but I doubt I'll ever find the solution. After what seemed forever, we arrived at the lab. Puff I'm pretty exhausted. Guess it's lunch time. I grab a tuna sandwich pack. "that's mine!" Jamie yelled. "there's like four tuna sandwiches next to my pack , dude." I teased. "Oh, my bad" like come on how did Jamie not notice the other packs of tuna sandwiches. Does Jamie need glasses? Nevermind just a pointless thoughts run through my head. "I suggest we try knives with the purple ore leftovers. Just incase close quarters battle occur." Jamie's ideas wasn't a terrible one. I was too tired to actually be bothered to make knives. "Perhaps another time. I'm heading to bed, we're got more ground to cover tomorrow." I walk away from the table I was eating at and headed to bed.

I wake up, stretching my hands and legs. Yawn, another day to kick ass. Surprisingly enough, Jamie was already awake." You woke up early for once. " Times change my friend." Jamie joked. Always up for a bit of banter now and then. After having a shower and equipping my pistol named Cahli." Good morning "Cahli spoke, "Good morning Cahli. Ready to kick ass.?" "Heck yeah!" Cahli seemed to enjoy kicking people's ass. I don't know. Perhaps it's her fetish. I let out a small chuckle at my comment. What am I mumbling about? It's as if I can feel Cahli's death glare. Oh god. Better avoid making comments like that. "Jamie, you ready to resume our mission?" Jamie clearly liked the sound of that. "I was born ready?! We set to try to get into the store we need to replenish our food supply. We arrive where we stood yesterday." Look! Three purple monsters stood outside the entrance. It's easier to slaughter them right now as I'd rather avoid fighting more than four monsters, than having six to deal with. I glimpse over at Jamie. Jamie is smiling like a predator stalking its prey. In this case we're the predators. Unless the purple monsters are intelligent. Doesn't seem like it though. *BANG *BANG *BANG "it's safe to say we massacred them. Jamie killed two, and I got the last shot in. Its almost like we're competing against each other, like some zombie shooter. Better not think of this as a game." I left my phone at the lab, I urgently required it. Making sure family is OK. "Jamie had a worried expression. "let's head back, come back later to the store ." Jamie and I started walking as four purple monsters ambushed us. We both jump back, guns raised. *BANG *BANG "there's over four! Retreat! Jamie yelled. Without thinking straight, we sprinted towards the store. Upon realising, sprinted into the forest." Quick, climb a tree." I said. I climbed a tree out in the middle of nowhere.. Jamie does the same. The purple monsters walk past us, moaning and groaning like zombies. Not going to lie. That terrified me. We waited a few hours as I feel an unwanted presence climbing the tree. I peek down to realise a terrifying purple spider climbing. HOLY HELL?! I let out a scream. Jamie, upon hearing my scream, checked the spider. It has long oversized legs with a short body, red glowing eyes. The sight of it sent him into shock. I aim my gun towards the spider. I started firing, repeatedly. "You're out of charge," Cahli said to me. Shit. I hear shots from Jamie's pistol in an attempt to save me. It actually succeeded, with help from Jamie we destroyed the purple spider. I turn to Jamie "Thanks" Jamie saved me, this time. "I've actually had one charge left." basically meaning one bullet left. That sure was a close call. Wait, is our lab taken over? We're going to expend our remaining food supply. "our trees home now" I joked. "No more blowing up Xbox" Jamie cried. We ate our last remaining tuna sandwiches. We're fully depleted on food. I find it hilarious that we're talking on different trees. "Tomorrow we'll have no choice but an all out assault on the store." I spoke. "so we're not getting any good sleep tonight. Hard surface..." Jamie let out a small dog like whimper. Yeah it totally sucks but can't do anything about it. I feel a hard object in my pocket. I pull out Jamie's phone... Oh, I forgot my phone broke cause of purple Luna. God dammit. I throw Jamie's phone over to him. He almost failed to catch it. We're been here for hours now, it's starting to get dark. I drift to sleep.

A spider ripped Jamie's head off. I was the spider's meal next; I attempted to run as the spider cut off my legs while using his legs as a blade. I look up helplessly. As it devoured my body.

I wake up, panting... Thank god it was just a dream.
