Phoenix Saga Part 9

On our way to the lab to see Jean, the girl told me about her whole adventure.

When she finished telling me everything that happened, I was speechless.

This girl checked out all the planets and even went to Titan, the birth home of the Mad Titan Thanos.

This girl went sightseeing while on her mission.

What interested me was that Uatu helped her.

I know The Watchers don't do that, well, he's rare within his race so it's normal.

I guess he's returning the favor for sparing Galactus's life.

But also, Lilandra was smart to hide it there and now that Est has placed a barrier on it, it will be harder for them to get to it even if they do find it.

The other thing is the Shi'ar fleet, those guys are really fast, they were ready to attack us.

I guess they were just unlucky to run into Est.

But I must be prepared, with the madness of their Emperor D'ken, it wouldn't be a joke if he threatened me with the super bomb that decimated almost all the Kree in the comics.

While I was deep in thought and gently stroking Est's head, we finally reached the lab.

Just before entering, we feel an impressive pressure of energy coming from the laboratory.

My face turns serious but I'm not worried, there's Wanda with the Reality Stone.

But quickly I enter the place.

And then I see Wanda, Psylocke and Polaris protecting everyone in the room.

In front of them is the redheaded Jean Gray surrounded by fire that makes her look like a Phoenix.

I have to admit, that girl suits that look.

"So what's going on here, did I miss something?" I asked them in a relaxed manner.

My question startles everyone present and draws the attention of the Phoenix.

Frowning, I realize this isn't Jean Grey, but the Phoenix.

Using my right hand, I destroy some of the energy released by the Phoenix, surprising her.

"Now, I want you to do one thing burning woman, you can return that body to its true owner" I said to the Phoenix while I looked at her indifferently still with Est in my arms.

Everyone present is shocked to hear my words.

Well, the only one who doesn't seem surprised is Lilandra.

I just smile indifferently, the Shi'ar Empire has always had a very tense relationship with the Phoenix.

The Phoenix looks at me penetratingly and says:

"You are Alex Wayne, the emperor of Genosha, it is a pleasure to meet you personally"

I raise my eyebrow at her words and I am surprised, I never expected the Phoenix to know me and knowing this alarmed me because if she knew me, other cosmic entities will too.

I just hope that yandere goddess of death doesn't know about me.

I realize that Lilandra is surprised to hear the Phoenix's words and looks at me for a moment.

I simply ignore her look.

"What's going on here Alex, do you mean this isn't Jean?" Charles asked anxiously.

"I told you before, the moment that girl saved us from that cosmic radiation, her body was possessed by an existence of great power, the so-called Phoenix Force" Lilandra said as she looked back at the Phoenix.

The X-Men in the place are sad and furious with this entity.

"Hey, woman with the brain of a bird, I told you to return the body to its owner, didn't you listen to me?" I asked when I saw that she didn't listen to me.

The Phoenix looks at me and with a deep voice says:

"I'm sorry but I can't do that, this girl's body is the perfect host for me and from now on I am no longer the person you knew. I am fire! And life incarnate! Now and forever -- I am PHOENIX!"

When she finished speaking, she releases her powerful aura, shocking everyone.

I look listlessly at the Phoenix and lower Est from my arms.

The girl doesn't say anything since she knew I would do something.

Activating the 'Imagine Breaker' in my whole body and ignoring the Phoenix's pressure, I appear in front of her at high speed surprising her.

And before she could defend herself, I grab her by the throat and the pressure she released vanishes.

The proud Phoenix shows a trace of panic as she realizes that the connection to Jean Gray's body is fading.

"Now let me ask you again little bird, are you going to answer yes or not?" I asked with a smile on my face seeing her panic.

Everyone in the room is shocked by Alex's actions.

Lilandra is the most affected, from the investigations of the Earth by the Shi'ar spies, she knows that there are powerful beings.

But she never thought that some are capable of completely suppressing the Phoenix.

This alarmed her, she had underestimated the power of the Terrans, especially the person in front of her.

"Alex Wayne, you really are a very special person..." Lilandra murmured.

"Let me go Alex, if you do this, I will lose my connection and the girl named Jean Gray will die" the Phoenix said anxiously.

Surprised by what she said, I raise my eyebrow.

"What do you mean, little bird?" I asked her as I increased the strength of my grip pressing harder on her throat.

"When this girl used her psychic power to protect her friends, it severely damaged her psyche leaving her in a spiritual coma, if it wasn't for me merging with her, she would already be dead. I'm currently healing her wounds and it will take time, so I cannot return her body" the Phoenix answered quickly seeing that I increased the strength of my grip.

I stare at her and realize she's not lying.

So I release her and she breathes a sigh of relief.
