Chapter 3

Alessia was super bored just waiting on Mum. She tried chasing her tail. She attempted to howl as mommy does sometimes. She even yelped a few times trying to call her mother home but it worked to no avail. She laid down in defeat. It hadn't been long til she started to whine. Then she caught a glimpse of something through the opening. She didn't understand what it was but she liked all the pretty colors it had and how it looked in the dimming sunlight. She decided she had to catch it. She jumped for it, forgetting that she was supposed to stay in the den. She rolled down the small hill. After gathering her bearings again she shook and chased after the pretty flappy thing. Jumping and pouncing at it. She couldn't quite reach it. Eventually, she got tired. Especially since she hadn't eaten in a while. Her stomach growled. She paused to lie down. Only then did she realize she was no longer in the den and mother was nowhere around. The bright thing in the sky was going away. Where was Mother? Where was home? She trembled in fear. Tears streamed down her face. She just wanted the warmth of her mother. She was too tired and hungry to move but she needed to hide. It was getting scary. The flappy thing was gone. Trembling she crawled on her belly to the nearest spot she could find to hide. A big tree with a hole in the bottom just big enough for her to squeeze into. She lay inside, trembling in fear of the unknown and watching for anything that might come. Scanning her surroundings furiously she waited on bated breath.
