He told them that he had filled out the paperwork for forming a cultivator clan, and that the Myriad Paths Clan was officially an active clan. This news seemed to stop them from reading for a bit as they looked at Collin for a moment before going back to looking at the book in Valter's hand. This was not the reaction that Collin was expecting, but a moment later he saw Viktor trying to suppress a grin on his face. The three little bastards were screwing with him. It wasn't hard to figure out, and it was most likely Vicktor that suggested it to the others. The only odd part of this theory was Valter going along with it, he had very little to no humorousness to him and Viktor wouldn't be able to convince him to do it. Then it hit Collin, Viktor didn't try to convince his brother, he went after Julie, and they both convinced Valter.
Collin placed three small metal tiles with the guild logo on them, they were identification cards needed to exit and enter the city easier. Each card had one of their names on it just above a small inscription formation that when used with a formation that the city guards have, lists the name of the card holder, their clan, and citizenship in the city. Most of the time these cards would be used is in emergency situations like attacks from devil worshipers, or when visiting dignitaries come to Camis city. Every other time as long as the guards have a slight recollection of a person they can exit and enter at will.
Looking at Viktor and his half grinning face made Collin to mess with him too. So, as he was going to leave the table he stopped and looked at Viktor and spoke.
"Viktor, it was smart of you to get Julie to convince Valter to participate in this joke, but next time don't smirk so much, it makes it obvious."
After seeing a shocked looking the three of their faces and very soon one shocked face and two annoyed faces looking at the third, Collin left slightly amused with himself. He was going to the library to sort out the books he had received earlier. This would mean he would have to read parts of them to determine if they were normal cultivation methods or if they were alternative path cultivation methods and he would have to check if they were standard or demonic methods and sort them accordingly.
Everything was going as he had expected till he opened a book that should have been a standard beast transformation method for demonic cultivators. But instead, it was book on necromancy, and one that suggested to forgo using one's natural cultivation talent and use a special treasure cultivation alternative path. Instead of spirit ore to refine a treasure to act as a dantian, it uses the bones of cultivators or demonic beast to form the treasure. The part Collin found amazing is that while other necromancer cultivation methods need to build up a tolerance to death qi to be able to use death qi spells and other abilities, this method uses the treasure to protect the body from damage from the cultivator's own death qi.
It was a very interesting cultivation method, and compared to most cultivation methods he had read, it had far more information on spells and techniques, along with guides for making and controlling corpses. While he was reading it, a certain cousin's face kept popping into his mind. "Creepy Ripley", he was short, very pale, and gave off a creepy vibe. And while his father wasn't necessarily a necromancer, he was close enough that if Collin allowed Ripley to read this manual, he would without a doubt choose it to train. It wasn't illegal to be a necromancer, but there were plenty of people that hated them and attack them on site, and if someone who used the dead bodies of people as tools died, not many would care.
Ripley's father could get away with being a kind-of, kind-of not necromancer, that was because he had the backing of the Monten clan behind him, and Ripley wouldn't have that luxury. Collin was tempted to hide the book, but if he did that, he would have to hide several other books to keep some of his other cousins from choosing methods others would find undesirable. He didn't want to deny his cousins any path that would be best for them to cultivate, as long as it wasn't an evil path that would get them, and the clan hunted down and exterminated by the Empire and especially the territorial lord's clan, or in other words their own family.
Soon he was thinking of all the items for the cultivation methods his cousins would most likely need. Collin expected at least one more sword cultivator, maybe one or two more beast tamers, with one being a dragon cultivator like Julie and the other just using beasts to fight like normal beast tamers. He expected several to choose beast transformation cultivation methods, and most of the rest to choose elemental cultivation methods. Of course, he expected a necromancer, a blood cultivator, a bone cultivator, and maybe someone using the inscription cultivation method. He couldn't be sure these four would be the only ones that might choose questionable paths. He was sure he had enough materials to help them all become cultivators, but there is always the slight possibility that some of them might turn down his offer.
Collin was the young master of the clan, and while he didn't run around making people's lives miserable like Viktor did, there were always those who were jealous of his position and the treatment that came with it. Jealousy can make people do foolish things, like slapping away a hand that is trying to help you. After a while he found the thought of any of his cousins rejecting his offer, depressing. So, he did his best to stop thinking about it and focus on finishing sorting the books.
When he was done, he decided to feed his beasts a beast pill to help with their cultivation. The solar boar was easy to find, but it was asleep underground. so, Collin dropped the pill down the hole, the solar boar would find and eat it when it woke up in the morning. His silver boned titan ape was still uneasy and suspicious around him, but still took the pill. The stone badger was asleep like the solar boar, but quickly woke, ate the pill, and went back to sleep in almost an instant. The blood marsh raptor happily ate its pill and returned to it swamp to refine the pill, it also did this avoid its new roommates.
Niddhog and Fafnir, the two venomous wyrms he evolved from flood dragons. He was hoping that at least one would survive but was pleasantly surprised when both broke through their cocoons alive and healthy, so far. He would still need to keep an eye on them for the next month or so because while it was rare that something would go wrong at this point, sometimes the wyrms would suddenly die or become sick and die. They were over six feet long, with black scale with a disturbingly green color around the edges of each scale. Their stubby kittle front legs grew three feet long and became part of its wings that stretched out to have an eight-foot wingspan. They were strong enough to fly yet, or even glide, but the two little wyrms were adorable and exceptionally poisonous. They happily ate their beast pills and torn little chunks off the meat that Collin had given them.
Collin would have to get another building for the two venomous wyrms to live. The blood marsh raptor was an apex predator and could sense how dangerous the two little wyrms were and didn't want to be anywhere near them. And with his connection to the raptor, he could sense the discomfort in being in the same enclosure as them. Since the raptor was a part of Collin combat power, he would like to keep it happy, and a building wasn't that expensive.
