It wasn't long until new of Wheelan's death reached the ears of his employer, Lex Luthor. And needless to say, the Billionaire mogul was not happy.

" I paid you imbecile's too keep Wheelan in one place. Just one. I gave you all the resources to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I gave you money, food, everything you could ask for. And yet, by some herculean leaping logic, you morons managed to not only lose four of your men, but you also ended up losing Wheelan. My only source to the Kryptonian artifact."

" We're sorry Mr. Luthor. But we did everything we could to keep the idiot safe. I don't know how we were found out. The only person who got even remotely close to him was the clone girl, and we threw her out before she even stepped foot in the park. There's no way she could have known what to say to anyone."

" Right? And who is this guy? The one dressed in black. The one who decided to mess with my money?"

" We don't know, sir. He just showed up out of nowhere. We've never seen him in Gotham before."

" Hm? Is he one of Batman's?"

" I doubt it. Batman doesn't kill."

" Are you sure about that? Maybe batman doesn't kill. But does he have others do it for him? No, Batman's not that feeble minded." Luthor exhaled deeply. " Okay, get me the phone Mercy. I need to make a call."

" Right away Mr. Luthor." Mercy walked over to Luthor's safe in the wall and moved it to the side revealing another hidden safe. She unlocked the safe and pulled from it a small golden phone. " Here you are, Mr. Luthor."

" Thank you, Mercy." Lex grabbed the phone from his beautiful assistant and dialed the only number on the phone. The contact's name simply listed " TERMINATOR"

" Hello, I am in need of your services once again. I have a little rat problem in Gotham that needs to be taken care of. And I only trust the best to handle it. You'll get fifty million once the job is done. I'll triple it if you can bring him into me alive. And I'll double that if you do it within the next week. Do we have a deal?"

" I'll meet you in a few days to discuss the details. Until then Luthor."

" Until then."

..........

A few days later.

David had forgone the suit. He felt he no longer needed it. He dished out his justice to those who deserved it. And as for Luthor, well.... It didn't matter. He was a distant memory.

David stood leaning out of his window, with a drink in one hand and his phone in the other.

" Hey, Helena, I was calling to see if I could take you up on the offer. You know? To see you again. Well, I'm free this Friday, so what do you say we have dinner? I know this Greek restaurant over by the East End. Place is to die for. Been open since I was a kid. Anyways, let me know what you think? Later." After leaving his message, David hung up the phone and placed it back in his pocket. He was finally able to move back on past the suit. Or was he?

As he stood there staring down at the drink an image of himself in his suit stared back at him.

David grabbed at his head slightly, the feeling tugging in the back of his mind.

" No, David. No. Not again. We handled business and now it's time to just move on with life." David downed his drink in one gulp before moving back inside.

David sat down at the edge of his bed.

" Gotta be careful. After that night, Batman... I'll be lucky if he doesn't kick my door down in the next hour."

* KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

David flinched when he heard the sound of knocking at his door.

" Package delivery for a Mr. North."

Upon hearing it was merely the mail man who was knocking, David relaxed and let loose a breath of relief.

" Hey! Package delivery."

" Yeah! Yeah! I'm coming, one second." David shouted. He walked to the door and undid the locks, and when he opened the door, there was a young man with black hair and blue eyes standing in the doorway with a rather large box in his hand.

" Here you go, sir. Have a nice day." He handed the large box over to David and quickly made his exit without having him sign or without speaking another word. He was in and out.

" Okay." David cut his eyes at the young man as he left and then he stared at the box. He placed his ear to the box in an attempt to hear the contents inside. He was hoping it wasn't a bomb. " I don't hear any ticking." David brought the package inside and placed it down on his kitchen counter. He grabbed a knife from the drawer and used it to cut open the box.

" What is this shit?" David asked. He pulled out a small laptop on it had a note that said press play. David opened the laptop up and a video appeared on the screen.

David clicked play and watched as the video started.

" Mr. North. Or should I call you Agent Zero? we've been doing some digging on you. Consider this a gift, if you will. A gesture of good will. There's a young boy, missing from uptown Gotham, names Johnathan Young. Good kid. He was kidnapped a few days ago, by some armed men. Unknowns mostly. We managed to track their location to a small warehouse down in west Gotham. We want the boy saved; his family is a very generous donor of ours. In exchange, we'll give you some information that might just save your life. You have until the end of the night to handle this. Save the boy or don't we don't really care either way. But I know you will. We've left you some toys to play with, if you want. Have fun Zero."

The message ended and a screen appeared displaying coordinates.

David looked over to the bag, inside it contained multiple firearms, throwing stars, and grenades. Along with what appeared to be a grappling hook.

" This stuff's military grade. What the fuck is going on now?" David muttered. " Save my life? A kidnapped kid?" No, David wasn't trusting this mysterious savior. Not one bit. In all his life, if there was ever a moment that seemed like a trap, this was one of them. But then again, how did they know his name. His code name at that. Damn it.

David didn't want to do this anymore. But on the chances that this was real, he couldn't leave a kid to be killed.

But no way was he using this junk. In fact. It would be better for him to get all of it out of his apartment as soon as possible.

But first, he had a call to make.

" Hey. It's me. I need some... Tools."
