K2 slammed his bag down. The knives and guns inside it rattled with the force. He thumped down on the sofa and leaned back, closing his eyes.

"He needs protection for her."

"From a mafia boss."

"Dammit!" He opened his eyes and roughly pulled his hair back before resting his joint hands behind his neck. Taking a deep sigh, he let his hands loose and placed them on his knees. He couldn't believe that boss could do this to him.

He had told him that this mission would be the last. He wanted to live his life too. He loved his father and wanted to fulfill his last wish of him becoming an agent just like him and he did that. For seven years, he took all the missions that the agency gave him without a question. He loved his work but he can't do illegal work now.

Getting up, he went to the kitchen to make himself a cup of coffee. The kitchen was a small one but comparing to the one bedroom flat, it was decent and K2 didn't want a big house as big house meant big maintenance bill. Taking the milk carton out from the refrigerator, he let it boil. He didn't had a coffee maker and didn't even need it. After the milk boiled completely, he added grinded coffee along with sugar and stirred the hot drink. He liked his coffee sweet, with milk and sugar.

Pouring the liquid into his cup, he let the saucepan cool, before washing it and letting it dry on the rack.

K2 entered his bedroom with the cup in his hands. Switching on the lights, he grabbed the AC remote and turned it on. It was not that hot but it wasn't that cold either. You would need an AC to cool you down even in the autumn of Delhi. Closing the door, he sat down on the bed with the cup in his hand.

"Why can't they show a good movie!" K2 groaned as he sipped his coffee while searching for a good movie to watch. After 5 minutes of not finding anything, he settled on the movie 'The Notebook', playing on a movie channel.

But even before the movie could begin, he turned off the TV. He could watch romantic movies but not the cliché romantic. He found movies which are totally romantic, irritating and frustrating. An action or thriller with a hint of romance could do. Gulping down the scorching liquid in one go, he kept the cup on the bedside table before laying down on the bed and covering himself with the duvet. As soon as his eyes closed, he drifted off to sleep.

K2 woke with a jerk as he heard his phone ringing. Groaning, he tapped his hands blindly on the side table till he found his phone. He placed the phone on his ear as he answered the call, without opening his eyes.

"Yes?" He heard shuffling on the other side.

"K2, in my office in half an hour." Mr. Srivastava's voice rang from the other side.

"Fine." Hanging the call, he got up. He knew better than to argue with the old man. He took his used cup and placed it in the sink. He would wash it later. Not bothering to change his clothes, K2 took his bike keys and locked the house behind him. He was in mood of riding his bike.

He went towards his garage and clicked on it's keys. The garage opened without a sound along with all of the lights turning on one by one, showing all the vehicles of K2. A smirk made its to his face as he looked at his collection. His favourite Royal Enfield Classic Stealth Black along with Kawasaki Ninja standing in glory with his Lamborghini Aventador Satin Black and White Toyota Fortuner TRD.

Of course, his job paid him very well but his vehicles took nearly 75% of income and 50% of his father's money which he had left for him. His father was also an undercover agent like him and is job paid him way more than K2's. His house was way too small than his garage but he could care less. His love for these beasts would never die and he had to protect them.

Being in the mood of riding his favourite, K2 took his Royal Enfield out of the garage. He closed the garage and straddled his bike. Turning on the engine, he took great satisfaction in the loud rumble of this beauty which he heard after about one month. Putting the helmet and gear, he made his way to the agency.

Traffic was light at this time which was a surprise and K2 took full opportunity of empty roads. He never rode over the speed limit and never will until its an emergency as speed thrills but kills. He lived by that motto.

Reaching the agency, he showed his identity card, and verified his iris scan and finger print before going inside. Even though, its been years of him coming here regularly, they still took all the precautionary measures and K2 liked that.

He parked his bike in the parking reserved for him and took off the helmet. Placing it on the petrol tank, he got off the bike and went inside. People knew better than to steal his belongings.

Opening Mr. Srivastava's cabin door, K2 saw that he was not in the room. Not in the mood to go out and fetch him, he sat down in front of his chair and took out his phone. He opened his Instagram and was surprised to see 1000 followers. He was not a fool. He didn't share his photos or locations ever. It was a page of his cars and bikes. You can say he likes to show off. He smirked as he read a comment of a follower.

'I hope I buy all of these beauties one day.'

"Sorry, I was at the reception." Mr. Srivastava apologized as he entered the room. He took his seat in front of K2 and clasped his hands together while K2 locked his phone and kept it way, showing respect to the other man.

"You called...?" K2 drawled out as he looked at his boss, leaning back on the chair.

"You are going to do the mission, right? I have already told them yes and gave your name. I know it's illegal when it involves a Mafia boss but it is going to pay you very well. The father is desperate for protection and will give any amount. You can al-"

"Just stop. I'll do it." K2 cut off his ramble and blowed air from his lips.

Mr. Srivastava looked at him shocked before smiling a little. He knew when K2 made his mind up, no one can ever make him change his decision. He thought it would be difficult to get him to yes but it proved quite easy.

"You are?" Mr. Srivastava posed again to be double sure. K2 looked at him with a no non-sense look and got up. He chuckled and got up too.

"When to get on board?" He asked as he looked into his boss's eyes. Mr. Srivastava walked to stand in front of K2 and looked at him.

He has matured now.

The old man thought.

"I'll let him know that you agreed and request all the information." Mr. Srivastava spoke before he took a long sigh. He placed his hand on K2's shoulder and gave it a squeeze. " I know you wanted to end all this after your last mission. How you wanted to live your own life after living your father's. I promise you after this one, there's never going to be more. I'll let you off the hook with so many zeros that you will not gonna need to work anymore."

K2 looked into his eyes deeply before giving a nod of appreciation. He appreciated that... really, really appreciated that.

He walked back a little before turning around and leaving the cabin of his boss. He walked back to his bike in the parking and leaned on it lightly. He looked at the dark sky with few shining stars and sighed.

"I fulfilled my promise dad. I hope you are happy and are at peace. But dad, I won't continue doing this. I want to live my life, get married and be at peace with my family. I can't put them in danger. I hope you understand dad." K2 whispered to the sky.

Taking a deep breath, he grabbed the helmet and put it on before getting on the bike. Keying the ignition, he revved the bike and took it out from the parking spot. He briefly glanced at the person who was standing by the window looking at him before leaving the premises. K2 knew that person cared for him and he also knew that he was the only person that K2 could say he had in this whole world.
