3. Our First Meet

The teahouse looked very crowded with all kinds of people sitting at different tables. Some were busy chatting with their friends and some were busy staring at their cell phones or laptop screens. Meanwhile, Indira sat alone at the corner table staring blankly at the menu book in front of her.

After the short call last night, Indira finally knew that she wasn't imagining things out of desperation and that Arya Wiratama hadn't changed his mind at all because the man she was going to marry was the one who had suddenly contacted her last night. Indira remembered how nervous she was last night as the man briefly introduced himself and asked when he could meet Indira to discuss the matter of their marriage. Indira only had time to answer in a daze and the call was disconnected.

Thanks to the absent-minded answer she gave in shock last night, here Indira is today, waiting to meet the man she will marry in the near future.

"Miss Indira?"

As soon as Indira turned her head, she found a man with a towering height clad in a plain black shirt and cloth pants of the same color staring at her with one eyebrow raised high.

Seeing that the young woman in front of him did not respond, the man with jet-black hair repeated his question, "Miss Indira?"

Indira quickly swallowed her nervousness and casually stood up as she replied, "Please take a seat."

"Thank you." The handsome man with the piercing eyes nodded firmly before moving to sit in the chair opposite Indira's own. He then casually placed his cell phone and wallet on the table while continuing to fix his gaze on the pale face of the young woman before him.

As if she had never felt nervous and surprised before, Indira casually showed a polite smile and decided to open the conversation between them, "My name is Anindira Maheswari."

"Angka," he replied casually and then continued, "Sangkala Rahendra. Thank you for meeting me today."

"You're welcome."

Angka nodded slowly with that answer before saying, "I asked to meet today for two reasons. The first reason is because I want to get to know you formally and the second reason is because I want to know if you have any requests."

Indira paused for a moment before asking, "Request?" Indira calmly continued, "Mr. Sangkala, I don't understand because Arya Wiratama didn't say anything to me before."

Angka frowned at the way Indira mentioned her father's name in such a rude way, but since it was none of his business, Angka decided to ignore it. He calmly raised his eyebrows slightly as he explained, "I'm talking about your request after our marriage. I want to convey that you can make any request to me in the future, such as living expenses, neighborhood, the type of car you like, and so on as long as it is within my capabilities."

Indira's mind went blank in an instant when she heard that string of sentences. She was not stupid and even had a fairly high intelligence, but she could not react for a long time at the moment.

Seeing that, Angka impatiently glanced at the time on his watch. After that, he slightly moved his body forward to look at Indira's face from a closer distance. Although Angka looked a little impatient, the man still lowered his tone of voice when he said, "Miss Indira, Mr. Arya said that you had personally agreed to marry me, but seeing your current reaction... is there any misinformation?"

Indira's palms began to feel damp with sweat. The man in front of her seemed distant yet very close, vague yet very clear. At this moment Indira felt that her brain suddenly froze and she lost her ability to think for a while. She felt that all her emotions disappeared in an instant and what was happening now was not real.

While Indira seemed a little out of focus, Angka sat quietly staring at the expressionless face.

After regaining her composure, Indira clenched her palms together and put them into the pockets of the blazer she was wearing. She said in a low voice, "Sorry, I didn't expect you to say that, so I was surprised for a moment."

"You didn't expect that?" Angka repeated the sentence with the corners of his lips seeming to curl slightly in amusement.

Indira embarrassedly wanted to dig a hole to hide because of that gaze. The man looked incredulous, but Indira was telling the truth and not playing dumb.

"Don't I look capable of saying something like that?"

Indira hurriedly replied, "No, no. I didn't mean it that way."

"Then, back to the previous topic." Angka smiled gently before continuing, "What will you ask for after we get married?"

After taking a slow breath, Indira calmly replied, "I still don't understand the meaning of your question but I know that there will be results after effort. So, what do I need to do to get you to grant all my requests?"

"I want you to sign some agreements before marriage that will benefit both of us. Don't worry, the agreement will clarify the property and various rights that you can have later on. After marriage, I want you to be an ordinary wife who must remain humble, loyal, and know your limits." Angka spoke very quickly but it sounded very clear,

Indira nodded.

Angka also nodded back with satisfaction before continuing, "Take it easy, I won't harm you. I'll let my personal lawyer explain everything in more detail."

After saying that, Angka straightened up and coded the man sitting at a table not far from them to come over.

The man in very neat formal clothes nodded politely at Indira before sitting down quietly. He took out a folder and placed it in front of Indira before starting to explain quietly.

After his personal lawyer finished explaining, Angka said, "So, what do you want? I will give you very comfortable and complete living conditions. You don't need to feel humble because you deserve it. You may also ask for a luxurious residence in the future. So, have you thought of something you want?"

Indira glanced at Angka who was glancing at his watch for the umpteenth time and suddenly felt empty. Sitting with the man who was going to marry her and now discussing the prenuptial agreement made Indira silently feel disappointed. She was shaken by such an offer that seemed to have brought a storm in her world. Indira was all set to devote her life to her future husband, but for the man in front of her, this marriage turned out to be just a short meeting that could be handled simply like a normal job.

Indira had originally promised that she was only getting married to pay off her debts. However, after seeing the man's face and posture for the first time, Indira began to play with her emotions when she realized that her marriage partner was handsome and seemed very calm.

In Angka's eyes, this marriage was not a 'Promise of a lifetime together', but a 'Cooperation that brings benefits to them'.

The storm in Indira's mind gradually subsided when she realized that Angka had at least given her a boundary from the start, so she wouldn't have any expectations later. Angka was right, this was just a marriage of cooperation.

After some time, Indira calmly looked at Angka and asked, "Where will I live later? Will it be far from my workplace which is nearby?"

Angka looked surprised when he heard that and immediately asked, "You still want to continue working later?"

"Can't I keep working?" Indira seemed hesitant at the moment because her job was a job that suited her perfectly.

"You can." Angka smiled slightly and continued, "I won't forbid you to do what you want."

Indira immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

"Well, Miss Indira, you can talk about more detailed matters with Attorney Noah. You are also free to ask any questions and demands you may have. I still have other work to do at the moment, so I must retire first." Angka grabbed his wallet and cell phone and stood up.

Indira also stood up and replied, "Yes, Mr. Sangkala."

As they stood facing each other like this, Indira finally realized that Angka was too tall. The man was like a tall wall that managed to overshadow Indira. Indira looked at the man in front of her and realized that there was a sense of oppression that the man carried even though he seemed polite and very relaxed.

Angka nodded politely before leaving and Indira could only sigh softly.
