Chapter 2 The god of speed, medicine and travelers.

Back on earth.

In a country somewhere, on earth there were people moving around looking dishevelled, trying to find food. In some shelters there were many people crying, there were some doctors trying to help those with burns. Some looked too disgusting to even look at. Many had died from radiation exposure. Many died of hunger. It was sadness every where. The air was covered in Ash, if you tried to breathe there was no way you would take in clean air. Most water sources were no more. Even the remaining rivers where not clean to drink from an there's no way to purify it. No plants, it was like a dessert covered in ash and rubble.

In one of the shelters somewhere, a man sat on the ground outside, with no clothes on except a dirty pair of boxers, looking so dishevelled you would think he was a psychiatric patient. He held his head in his hands, tears poured from his eyes as he cried. He felt something and looked up. It felt like a wind was blowing past him. The ash in the sky was moving faster than it was supposed to, and it seemed as the the clouds were moving apart. The man stopped crying and squinted his eyes with his mouth agape. He saw a strangely dressed man running on the clouds. He cleaned his eyes to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. The man wore a white toga, he had a golden helmet on his long black hair which was tied back in a ponytail, he had a two feet long caduceus tucked in a belt by his side. He had leather shoes on that had, white wings on each side of them, and they seemed to flap so fast that they became almost invisible, he had a brown bag slung over his shoulder.

Hermes was having fun running, he was sent by the all father to gather all the humans in one place. There was about seven hundred million people left on earth and he was tasked with getting them in one place. It was one of the countries that didn't participate in the war. Even though they stayed away, they were still affected by the radiation, many people are dead from radiation sickness, those alive are barely living, crops are dieing due to vast and disastrous climate change, but it was still better than most countries. About one hundred and fifty to two hundred million of the surviving human population was from Nigeria. The others were from England and other countries. About five hundred million would be sent to Nigeria, since it was one of the best agricultural countries. Others would be sent to England.

Hermes ran on the wind, came to a stop a few feet away from the man. He was about sixteen feet tall, but when he started walking he shrank until he was about seven feet, he had a glow around him. Then he stopped I front of the man. The man was dumbstruck.

"Oh you humans" Hermes spoke in a calm tone, and a solemn look on his face "look at how you have destroyed yourselves" he raised his right hand and touched the man's face.

"A-are you g-god" the man stuttered, "you must mean the all father," Hermes said with a smile "no child I'm merely the all father's messenger."

Hermes sighed, he dipped his hand into his bag and brought out some golden cubes that looked like super cubes. "Eat" he said to the man, the man looked at the cubes, and with shaking hands he took them, "don't worry I'm a master of medicine, you could say it's a medicine touched by the gods. It will do wonders to your body."

The man closed his eyesurgery and put two in his mouth. They felt warm, then melted almost instantly. The man began to feel warm, his body felt like it was burning up, but he felt no pain. He started feeling better, it was as if all his pain was never there, his grey hair became all black, the wrinkles o his face faded his skin glowed, although still dirty you could tell that he was very handsome. The man looked at himself, then turned to face the man in front of him, he fell on his knees with tears in his eyes. Hermes urged him up. The ,an ran into the shelter shouting "the gods have come to help us," some thought he had gone crazy... that was until Hermes stepped into the shelter, a glow was around him, every body webt quiet, some had their mouth open unconsciously. He walked to each of the injured and none injured ones and fed them is medicine, they were too shocked to even speak or respond, the medicine instantly rejuvenated them, many cried, many fell on their knees. Hermes smilled, he looked around him, the wings on his shoe started flapping. Everything froze. The wings on his shoes moved however a bit slower. The wind stopped, sound stopped, the cloud stopped moving. The clouds stopped moving. Hermes sighed, 'the medicine should do well to protect their bodies from breaking from this speed, I need to do this fast but I still need to slow down, Sigh humans are so fragile.'

He went and picked up two people, "apologies should have come with me, his chariot would've helped." He walked out of the shelter,.... and ran, he ran but there was no dust in his path, or rather the dust was to slow to move. He ran, then took one step on the air, then another step, then another, and another.

He got to a Nigeria, he saw a lot of brown from above. Dead plants. This was supposed to be a very green country. He frowned, he sensed death and sickness everywhere.

(Author-san is black, okay I'm Nigerian, don't kill me, smiley face emogi)

He landed in an open space, on an open sandy field. He dropped the men down on a string position. He did this for those all over the world. For those he hadn't fed the medicine, would move at normal speeds and give them the medivine, with the occasional stops, it took a few hours but he got everybody to their rightful places.
